General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Struggles With Accepting Sonny For Who He Is

The honeymoon phase is over, kids. We could spot this coming from miles away. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) fell in love with “Mike,” an alter ego of married monster, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). What she really didn’t take into account was that “Mike” is only a small part of who Sonny really is.

General Hospital spoilers reveal Nina and Sonny are headed for a slap with the reality stick when Nina realizes that Sonny Corinthos is much different than the man she fell for back in Nixon Falls. The man she convinced herself that she loved so much that it was worth lying to him and keeping him away from his wife Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and their children.

Now that Sonny has had time to settle and get back into the swing of his old life, even amidst the drama, he has been more true to his character than the man back pouring shots at The Tan-O. Nina has manipulated her way into Sonny’s heart (and bed) despite the fact that he was still married to her enemy, Carly.

GH previews indicate that Nina’s selfish efforts may have all been for nothing if she can’t accept all of Sonny. In the most recent General Hospital previews, Sonny wonders why Nina can’t understand, and she admits that Mike is the man she knows, not Sonny.

General Hospital rumors suggest that Nina struggles with getting to know this darker side, and they go back and forth trying to find their fit. It’s possible that what happened in Nixon Falls should have stayed in Nixon Falls, and was never meant to continue once Sonny returned to Port Charles.

Carly has always accepted Sonny for who he is, all of him, because she is his true love and soulmate. Sonny’s feelings for Nina seem to be a symptom of a higher problem- Nina herself. She forced herself into his world and clung on like a child to her mother’s leg.

General Hospital news and rumors hint that Sonny and Nina romance will run it’s course, eventually fizzling out when Nina can’t handle all sides of the man she so-called loves. Things will become clearer for Sonny, and eventually he and Carly will make their way back to one another.

General Hospital News And Spoilers: Leslie Charleson Steps Away, Monica Temporarily Recast

Some General Hospital fans firmly believe some iconic roles are better left to their long time portrayers.

In the soap world it isn’t uncommon for an actor to step away from a role for which they have become known and loved. The role of Monica Quartermaine was originated in 1976 and played by Patty McCormack. Leslie Charleson stepped into the role in 1977, becoming the most familiar face of Monica Quartermaine.

General Hospital news reports confirm the role of Monica Quartermaine has been temporarily recast. Prime time star Holly Kaplan has taken over the role of Monica for the March 15th episode of GH. Leslie Charleson is said to be returning to the canvas sooner rather than later.

Charles’s replacement, Holly Kaplan, is known for her roles in prime time on The Ghost Whisperer, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, The Mentalist, Better Call Saul, and more, including a recurring role on Days Of Our Lives, as a nurse.

Thankfully Kaplan could step in for the March 15th, filling in for Charleson. GH news reports indicate the recast was for one episode at this time.

General Hospital News And Spoilers: Sydney Mikayla’s Real Reason For Leaving, Reveals Last GH Air Date

Earlier this month, General Hospital Blog reported the upcoming exit of GH actress Sydney Mikayla.

General Hospital news reports confirmed the young star has decided to leave her role as Trina Robinson. She had previously explained that TPTB over at GH have been extremely supportive when it comes to working Aron d her new college life schedule. However, Sydney still felt she needed to make an important decision.

In a recent interview with Soaps In Depth, Mikayla revealed her last air date as Trina Robinson on General Hospital is set for Thursday, March 17th. As stated previously, it was a difficult decision for Mikayla.

General Hospital news reports reveal at the time of Sydney’s start at the daytime drama back in February of 2019, she was offered a contract role and make it clear that she was set on attending college in the near future. . “I was like, ‘Just so you know, I am planning to go to college. I 100% want to do this role [but] we have to be ready that when I go to college, I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to stay or go,’” Mikayla explained from the start. Obviously the show was supportive of Sydney’s focus on her schooling.

In her podcast interview with SID, Mikayla went into detail about her first semester’s experience at UCLA. She explained that she was enrolled in an accelerated course, being that her semester was shorter, with more packed into the shorter timeframe while juggling her workload over at General Hospital. Mikayla revealed her parents referred to this first college experience as the “tester quarter,” trying to see if juggling work and school was feasible.

General Hospital spoilers reveal although the daytime drama was supportive and flexible, Sydney desires to have the full college experience which would include needing extra time to join clubs such as campus theater, and simply being able to enjoy time spent with peers.

When reflecting on her decision to leave and her thoughts on the young woman replacing her in the role of Trina Robinson, she admitted, “I wish Tabyana the absolute best.” She continued, “She will have the time of her life, I’m sure. And I’m very excited to see the role continue. And I’m grateful to see that the work that I put in kind of planted a seed.”

General Hospital fans will miss Sydney in her role while wishing her the best in her college experience and future endeavors. What matters most is Sydney’s enthusiasm for her education.

Spence has resented his dad for abandoning him and was all in with Esme when it was time to torture Ava Jerome (Maura West). Little does Spencer know, Esme has personal reasons for helping him ruin Ava and Nik’s marriage.
