ABC Renews General Hospital!!!!!!!

Breaking news!!!!!!!!!! ABC has confirmed that The Revolution will be canceled in July to make room for Katie Couric’s talk show and General Hospital will live on!!! VICTORY!!!!  This news brings happy tears to my eyes!!! Way to go GH!

Kirsten or Jen?

Wow this is a tough one! I am seriously torn. I LOVE Kirsten and miss seeing her face on my screen everyday. However, usually when one of my favorite characters gets recast, I loathe the newbie, but not this time. Jen Lilley is doing such an amazing job and fit right into the GH cast. I truly am torn. In a perfect world, Kirsten Storms would come back as Maxie, and Jen Lilley would remain on the show as another character. Sarah Brown came back on as Claudia Zacchara after playing Carly, so why would it be so strange if Jen came on as another character? I think they only way that would work is if there were some time in between her playing Maxie and coming on as someone knew. We’ll see what the future holds. I do miss Kirsten and wish her the best of luck.

The Davis Girls

I’m sure many of you love the Davis girls! I know I do. When they are all together on screen the dynamic is undeniable. Their interactions with one another and relationships seem so natural. However we are missing one key component. Kristina. I really miss not only the character but the actress as well. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lexi Ainsworth’s portrayal of Kristina Davis. She had many amazing scenes and made her character really come alive. What an outstanding young actress. I really do hope that if Kristina comes back to PC for Summer break, they will cast Ms. Ainsworth. She and Ethan could have been wonderful together!

Heather Webber!

As much as I hate to dedicate an entire blog post to this creeper, I think it’s necessary! Wow, I am thoroughly entertained with this wack-a-doodle. Although my memory of her is solid, yet the specifics are vague, I remember her intensity and the actress’ undeniable talent to play this role. Hats off to Robin Mattson for making me feel the crazy again this time around. It’s always intense when there is another lunatic running around Port Charles. Anthony Zacchara just doesn’t cut it alone. Every town needs more than one villain. When Steve described the connection between Heather and Luke to Olivia he used the terms, “unhealthy fixation.” Yeaaahhhh I think that’s an understatement! This bitch is is dangerous, AND hilaroius!

Wow, Even Great for a Monday.

Tracey Quartermaine makes me giggle!!! I loved when she was talking about her present from Edward when she was 5. Monica just had to antagonize as always. Skittles! The Q’s are great.  Awwww Luke was sooo darn funny remembering Spanky Buns’ birthday… and the gift, HILARIOUS. Poor Tracey!

I never really got why so many people love John McBain or thought he was sexy. I get that he has nice eyes and a raspy voice but nothing ever really made me think twice about him. Until he came to see Alexis and Sam was there. The way he was looking at her from outside the door way, the way he told her she could confide in him, dang! I see it now. He still really isn’t my thing entirely but if he keeps saying things like that and being so thoughtful and considerate he just may move up my list.  However, I do NOT appreciate the insinuation of he him and Sam getting together. LEAVE JaSam alone! I really just won’t those two, well, those 3 (baby Morgan) to be a happy little family.  The writers should be able to create entertaining drama for them without jeopardizing their marriage.

Oooh boy Heather Webber is one ginormous nut job! I swear back in the day she had a crazy nick name but for the life of me I cannot remember. If anyone remembers please comment! She really knows how to stir things up around PC. I can feel Olivia’s disgust! If I were her I don’t think I could stand for that. An ultimatum would definitely be in order.  If Steve was smart, he would realize that Heather is most likely going to plot for Olivia’s demise.  Oliva should be running for the hills!

Oh JaSam, how I wish you could over come all your troubles and have a care free pregnancy. I think she really needs to just tell Jason ASAP. I don’t think she’s a liar or betraying him and I also don’t think that is what she was doing when she made the decision not to tell him about Robin. Sam does things out of care and concern for her husband and what she believes is in his best interest. I think Jason needs to let go of that power trip and realize his wife is doing what she does out of love.

Connie? Kate? …Vicki? Nicki? Whoever she may be, the actress is doing a fabulous job with playing those two parts! Way to go Kelly Sullivan. John and Anna are going to have a tough time figuring this one out.

Oh bombshell! The look on Michael’s face when Carly told him she and Johnny Z. are an item!

The Flame Still Burns Bright

In the recent past there has been a lot of buzz circulating in regard to the surviving potential of our beloved soap. Last week soap fans got a hint of good news and a glimmer of hope for the future of General Hospital. After the cancellation of two iconic soap operas, All My Children and One Life to Live, General Hospital fans have been on pins and needles waiting to hear of the fate of their favorite show. It was brought to our attention that The Revolution, the been-there, done-that, nobody-cares about- talk show that Daytime watchers have absolutely no interest in,  hasn’t done as well as TPTB had hoped. The ratings are hardly what was expected and the show’s chances for renewal are very slim. This makes a soap fan like me grin from ear to ear. It’s been said that the Daytime audience is changing with the times, and that shows like The Revolution would appeal to a larger audience. I just don’t see it. Simple as that. We don’t want another reality show, or food show, or another round table type. We want our soaps! Soaps are not only for the stay at home mom, or the retired woman. They appeal to a wide range audience including working women, moms, teens, college students, and men! Have these executives not heard of DVR? Yes I am a stay at home mom, but I want to watch GH in peace and quiet. I don’t watch it at 3 PM, I use the benefits of technology and set my DVR to record General Hospital every single day and I watch it at night or catch up later in the week. Soap fans are very loyal and no matter what type of lifestyle changes occur, such as a new job, becoming a mom, or taking some classes, with DVR we are still able to devote and hour to our soap. Soap Operas are not only classic and legendary, but an iconic feature in our society, and still manage to remain topics of conversation in many different scenarios.  I was recently watching a movie called The Sitter, starring Jonah Hill. In one of the scenes he was sitting on the couch watching TV. General Hospital was on and it was a clip of Jason and Franco! I feel that GH appeals to so many varieties of fans and has a huge following of younger women in high school and in college, and young moms. GH has  a HUGE following on Twitter and Facebook. Many times between 3pm and 4pm Eastern-standard time, General Hospital references have trended in the US. How can they say this soap is slipping? Everyone I talk to watches this show. Girls my age, their moms, their Grandmas, and their sisters. I grew up watching General Hospital with my Mom, so now I am passing the tradition on with my daughter. She is 3 1/2 and knows all the characters. For me, the GH flame still burns bright and I know all of us fans have the flame inside of us burning bright for this legendary piece of entertainment. So please, support our show, keep watching, keep it alive, and let’s pass it on to our kids for years to come.

Rebecca Herbst Renews Her Contract!

I am happy to learn that Rebecca Herbst will be staying on GH as she just renewed her contract! Elizabeth Webber is a much loved character in PC. I hope there is a lot in store for her character for the years to come. Elizabeth Webber stays in Port Charles!
