General Hospital is an American Soap Opera that began in 1963. The daytime television drama was created by Frank and Doris Hursley and premiered on April 1st, 1963.
Fast forward six entire decades and GH is still going strong! Today, ABC’s General Hospital has been on the air for OVER 60 years! It is officially the longest running entertainment production in ABC history!
This year, General Hospital celebrate its 60th year on the air! That is not something to take lightly! Soap Operas became a cultural phenomenon but simmered down in the early 2000s. Popularity among the genre declined and there were other factors that contributed to the cancellation of two ABC soaps. In 2011 and 2012, All My Children and One Life to Live for the ax. Thankfully our beloved General Hospital kept the world entertained as the Quartermaine, Corinthos, Spencer, Ashford families, and the rest of Port Charles kept us at the edge of our seats.
General Hospital’s Anniversary Special
According to General Hosptial News and spoilers, a Special Anniversary episode is to air this Winter. GENERAL HOSPITAL: 60 YEARS OF STARS AND STORYTELLING Will hit our screens on Thursday, January 4th, at 10:00PM on ABC. Do NOT miss this celebration of General Hospital as piece of our American Culture!
General Hospital Blog has had our fair share of favorite villains over the years. As times change and villains come and go, we like to adapt with the current storyline. Although valid, it’s still important to give credit to our all-time favorite villains. Actually, a certain villain falls into GH Blog’s top 3 favorites of all time and is also currently a bad guy turned, well, he’s still bad.
General Hospital spoilers reveal our top 3 favorite GH villains. One of them is celebrating a very important milestone. James Franco as Franco is GH Blog’s #1 favorite troubled soul. Then, we have Manny Ruiz (Robert LaSardo). I don’t know but there is just something about him that makes the perfect villain you love to hate. Finally, we have the birthday boy, Jeff Kober! Today, our favorite villain turns 70 years old!
I did not know so I had to Google it but apparently a 70th birthday is called a platinum Jubilee! we want to wish Jeff Kober, aka General Hospital’s wannabe-vigilante, Cyrus Renault a very happy 70th birthday!
Sonny takes over General Hospital’s Christmas StoryTradition
I don’t know about you but I think that the perfect way for Sonny to contribute to General Hospital isn’t of monetary value. This contribution is something money can’t, or shouldn’t buy, especially this time of year.
Sonny’s conversation with Stella (Vernee Watson) lit the path for an upcoming storyline. Currently, Port Charles is in the thick of its holiday season. The infamous Quartermaine Thanksgiving has passed and everyone is moving toward Christmas and New Years. General Hospital Christmas episodes are iconic. From miracles to tragedies, GH Christmases are unforgettable. Historically, the one thing we could count on was Steve Hardy and the Christmas story.
Sonny Takes Over General Hospital’s Christmas Story
After many years and Hardy’s passing, Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) took over. Those years were just as magical. Then, after his death, consistency went out the window. However, there still have been many memorable Christmases in Port Charles. One year, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) read the story!
General Hospital spoilers and rumors hint that there may be a new tradition in town. Sonny’s conversation with Stella started a buzz around social media. Many feel that Sonny Corinthos should take over, and not just this once. Do you think that Sonny should carry on Steve and Alan’s tradition?
Do you have a strong opinion on Sonny playing Santa? Please participate in our GH Poll!
BLQ; those initials simply sing success. That’s because those initials stand for Brook Lynn Quartermaine. The main name carries weight around Port Charles as one of the most prevalent families in the city. Over the years, the family business, ELQ, has made a name and Reputation🐍 for itself.
Ned (Wally Kurth) and Lois‘s (Rena Sofer) daughter Brooklyn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) lives up to the family name. She’s smart, resourceful, hard-working, and has big goals. Although her past may have some sketchy patches, the one thing Brooklyn isn’t is heartless. Some members of the Quartermaine family stop at nothing to get what they want. Especially when it comes to business.
Recently, BLQ first handedly witnessed her own grandmother blackmail her into corporate espionage. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) cares about two things in life, money, and family. But the lines get blurred when the Q clan’s business tactics tend to betray its own members.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Brook Lynn proves that she’s not like the others when she makes a bold and generous move. Ac GH recaps recall, Brook Lynn overheard Maxie talk about her financial woes. Then, she gave her old friend the good news about her engagement to Chase (Josh Swickard). That’s when something clicked with BLQ.
GH spoilers and rumors tease that Brook Lynn gives Maxiethe gift of Deception. No, I don’t mean that BLQ feeds Maxie more lies. What I mean is that she gives Maxie what’s rightfully hers. Between ELQ and her own career in the music industry, Brook Lynn is set for life. Now Maxie on the other hand is struggling, and Brook Lynn knows how hard Maxie has worked. That’s when the idea pops into her head. Will Maxie accept? And what will Tracy do when she learns of BLQ’s generous Christmas gift to Maxie?
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) might be feeling a bit of dejavu these days. As Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) flies off to Australia, I can’t help but think about Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher). I wonder if Carly feels the same? lol 😆
There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding Carly and Drew’s current storyline. Fans cannot escape the idea that Sonny and Carly are endgame, and I’m right on board with that. That said, how much longer do we have to watch Carly pretend that Drew lives up to the love she had with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Now I’m nit saying that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) isn’t a great guy and a wonderful catch, I’m just saying that I believe that Carly and Sonny are each other’s destiny.
How will Drew and Carly Breakup? Is Cameron Mathison Leaving General Hospital?
As GH spoilers give snippets of what’s to come, Sonny and Carly fans get closer to what their hopes for. It’s seemingly obvious how things could go down with Nina and Sonny because she’s a liar I’m manipulator and a psychopath. However, Drew Kane is none of those things. he is a good man with a good heart and he genuinely loves Carly. That leaves us questioning how Drew and Carly’s fallout will play out.
According to recent GH news, reports confirm that Mathison has signed a multimedia deal with Great American Media. Immediately, the news caused a stir among GH fans as they question Cameron’s General Hospital status.
Recently, he attended ChristmasCon where fans gathered in celebration of Christmas films! But Mathison reveals that the ChristmasCon fans seemed to be focused on one main thing. They wanted to know his GH status as they fear his potential departure from the Soap. Luckily, Cameron cleared the air.
A recent interview with Soaps In Depth reveal that he isn’t going anywhere. “The number one question I’m getting while I’m here [ChristmasCon] is whether I’m leaving GH.” Mathison admitted. The five-time Daytime Emmy nominee didn’t hesitate to set the record straight. “And I don’t know why there’s a rumor out there but I’m definitely not. I’m having the best time ever on GH.”
Maybe it’s that unexplainable mother/daughter connection, but Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) can sense that something is off with Nina. Although they haven’t known each other their entire lives, or even ten years, Willow and Nina are indeed mother and daughter.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is on borrowed time and she knows it. Right now Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is pulling the strings, limiting Nina’s visitation with Willow, Wiley, and Amelia. Sadly, Nina’s secrets eventually tear her world apart. But for now, she stays quiet so that she can stay as close to Willow and the kids as possible. While Nina is as close as she can get, Willow wonders what she’s staying at arm’s length. Little does Willow know that this is all her husband Michael will allow.
According to General Hospital spoilers Nina is sick of it! She’s sick of walking on pins and needles around Michael, and she’s had enough of the distance. This time is meant to be spent getting to know her daughter. How can they build a relationship if they can’t get close enough? Furthermore, Willow suspects that Nina is pulling away and Nina doesn’t want Willow to believe that.
She’s come too far just to let Michael take it all away from her. That’s why General Hospital spoilers and rumors hint that Michael is exposed! Will Nina risk it all and throw Michael under the bus ?

Kristina betrays Molly in the worst way Kristina keeps Molly and TJ’s baby
Kristina Davis Corinthos (Kate Mansi) and her sister Molly Lansing Davis Ashford (Kristin Vaganos) couldn’t be more different. Well, ok, of course they could. But let’s be honest, they aren’t very much alike at all. Their approach on life differ greatly from one another, having opposing views and even priorities.
GH recaps highlight Kristina’s generous offer to carry a child for her sister and her husband. Since Molly and TJ (Tajh Bellow) can’t have a baby together on their own, Kristina felt she could be of service. Her recent offer came after the first, which didn’t go over so well. However, fast forward and both Molly and Kristina’s lives lead them back to this conundrum. Is Kristina really trustworthy enough to become Molly and TJ’s surrogate? Is Kristina serious enough about it to come through for them? Will TJ be on with this?
According to General Hospital spoilers, many concerns surround Molly, TJ, and their future family. Eveyone, including Kristina’s focus is so fixated on Molly and TJ that Kristina becomes overlooked. Suddenly, Kristina develops concerns of her own. Now that she’s falling for Blaze, GH spoilers tease that Kristina starts to think about a family of her own.
Kristina Keeps Molly and TJ’s Baby
Shocking GH spoilers and rumors speculate that Kristina betrays Molly in the worst way. As in, she either retracts her offer as their surrogate, or manipulates the situation in some way. Honesty, the worst is to be expected. Don’t think that Kristina will find a way to keep Molly and TJ’s baby for herself?
Will they ever find out who fired the gun that left Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) paralyzed? He’s on the hunt for the villain who instantly changed his life forever. Meanwhile, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) is doing a search of her own.
According to General Hospital previews, Portia presents Curtis with some compelling insights. GH spoilers tease that Portia’s research leads to new hope as Curtis adjusts to his new life in a wheelchair. Luckily, his wife is a doctor over at General Hospital with access to potentially beneficial information. This could quite possibly lead to the medical breakthrough Curtis and Portia could only dream of.
Curtis and Portia’s Miracle Curtis Walks!
General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that Curtis experiences nothing short of a miracle. Currently, he makes the most out of his new normal, and those around him give their full support. But still, it’s an experience that most of us can only imagine. While Curtis, Sonny, and Anna continue their search for the shooter, Portia searches for a way to help Curtis to walk again.
Are her motives entirely selfless? Or does Portia feel she’s gotten a raw deal now that Curtis isn’t the same as when she fell in love with him? I personally think that Portia has only good intentions toward Curtis. I guess we will wait and see
