General Hospital News: SAG-AFTRA Supports WGA, Actors May Strike Next As Is Agreement Due To Expire

The SAG-AFTRA supports a fair deal for the WGA. Will actors strike next? As if the writer’s strike wasn’t enough to get an audience into a frenzy, another influential strike could be on the horizon. On May 2nd, The Writers Guild Of America went on strike. Now, the future of our favorite shows hangs in the balance. Thankfully, General Hospital episodes are filmed about 4-6 weeks in advance for some leeway. But freelance writers have stepped in during this time, and the show goes on.

General Hospital fans standby as the storylines keep rolling. Currently, freelance lawyers continue to write futures for our factors characters, but soon that may come to a halt. Recent General Hospital news reports mention a new concern. Now, GH spoilers point out that the contract between the actors union (SAG-AFTRA) and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) ends on June 30th.

On June 5th, an alarming 97% of SAG-AFTRA members are in favor to authorize a strike if the AMPTP cannot reach an agreement with the union. According to the latest developments, General Hospital news reports reveal that SAG-AFTRA members stand united for their cause. In fact, SAG-AFTRA President, Fran Drescher, gave her statement. “Together we lock elbows and in unity, we build a new contract that honors our contributions in this remarkable industry, reflects the new digital and streaming business model, and brings all our concerns for protections and benefits into the now!”

She made it very clear that it’s time to move on. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) is sick of waiting around for Curtis, and even more sick of being played. Curtis’s latest stunt was the last straw. It wasn’t even the kiss, but what he did after he kissed Jordan that sent Jordan packing. How could he move right back in with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) after kissing his ex-wife?

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is the connection between and makes up 1/3 a complicated love triangle. Obviously, Jordan and Portia make up the other 2/3. According to General Hospital spoilers, Curtis pushed Jordan away with his inconsistencies. As he tries to move forward with Portia, his and Jordan’s kiss hangs over their efforts like a dark cloud.

Previously, GH news reports confirmed the latest casting changes. General Hospital Blog shared GH comings and goings reports which confirmed that “Zeke” was headed to Port Charles. In an interview with Michael Fairman TV, actor Gavin Houston revealed details of his new role. Houston admitted that the upcoming storyline is going to be “meaty.” We can assume he is referring to a major front burner involving Curtis, Jordan, Portia, and of course, Zeke.

Recent General Hospital rumors tease that Zeke and Jordan get closer, and that really doesn’t sit well with Portia.

Wildly popular actor, Walt Willey joined ABC’s All My Children in 1987. He originated the role that become half of one of the most iconic couples in tv history. Soon after, Jack Montgomery (played by Willey) and Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) love story stole the fan’s attention. And the rest is history.

According to recent General Hospital news and spoilers, Walt Willey returns to daytime tv. Recent GH comings and goings reports annouce that Walt Willey joins GH as Jackson Montgomery! Yes, he reprises his role as Attorney Jackson Montgomery this coming July. That being said, GH rumors speculate that Walt brings Jackson to Port Charles for a particular case. Could he come to represent the SEC in the case against Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)? If the SEC passes on Carly and hands Sonny over to the Feds, Mr. Montgomery may be the one to put Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) away for good.

…General Hospital star, Cameron Mathison, joined the daytime drama in August of 2021. In under two years, his portrayal of Drew Cain became wildly popular.

Prior to GH, Cameron was a well known actor. His most recognizable roles were as Ryan Lavery on ABC’s All My Children, as well as a popular TV show host. All throughout the late 90s and 2000s, Cameron’s face established recognition across American’s living rooms. Fast forward to 2019, and the popular daytime drama star faced real life challenges.

Cameron Mathison Survives Cancer

Previously, General Hospital news reports confirmed that Mathison was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August of 2019. In an interview last year, Mathison gave a health update in regard to life after surgery. He made note that he was better than ever. He revealed, “But honestly, never better. I think I’m as strong as I was in my mid-20s. I have more energy than I had 20 years ago.” Mathison told ET. The star added, “I’ve definitely got a different perspective on life for sure from this experience.”

Now, a year after that June, 2022 update, Cameron Mathison shared his story on Instagram. He sends his “love to all fellow survivors out there,” and shared a photo from his 2019 surgery.

We wish Cameron continued health as we keep him in our hearts and prayers.

While Ned pleads with trusted family, Nina sits back and lets someone else take the blame for her impulsive actions. She knows that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will destroy whoever it is that’s done this to Carly. So instead of speaking up, she let Sonny believe it was Ned in order to save herself. Well, GH spoilers hint that she’s running out of lives when it comes to surviving as Sonny’s fiancé and beyond. Nina turned Carlt and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC because she finds Carly a threat to her relationship with Sonny. The one thing Nina’s right about is that Carly sure is a threat. But inexperienced Nina went about things all wrong. Sadly, what she’s done will only bring Sonny and Carly closer.

Nina won’t be able to hide much longer once everyone finds out Ned is innocent. According to GH spoilers, Ned confronts someone and says. “It was you all along,” with chilling confidence. Does he know? Will Ned confront Nina about turning Carly and Drew into the SEC?

Forget Pentonville, that establishment is for petty crimes compared to what Carly’s facing. Therefore, Michael knows that they must take extreme measures to ensure she stays out of prison.

According to the latest General Hospital spoilers and rumors, Carly and Michael’s conversation becomes heated when he incessantly tries to convince his mom to throw Sonny under the bus. Carly wants nothing more than for Michael to get rid of that video. However, Michael sees that evidence as the only way his mom stays out of prison. According to General Hospital history, Nina’s no virgin to trauma and breakdowns. In fact, when she first arrived in Port Charles, Nina’s mental health was not exactly in a good place. Upon her arrival, she had been in a coma for years. She did some things most consider to be unforgivable, but on a soap opera everyone reaches redemption.

GH spoilers and rumors claim that Nina’s about to lie in the bed she made for herself. Once Nina started seeking revenge on Carly, she just couldn’t help herself. For everything that goes wrong in her life, Nina blames Carly and then reacts. She lashes out with her impulsive actions geared to take Carly down. But in reality, Nina’s destruction ultimately falls on herself. Sadly, Nina has a one track mind that leads to her own demise. She lets her anger and jealousy get the best of her, but ends up suffering more than her intended target.

The latest General Hospital spoilers tease that Nina heads to Shadybrook after a series of events cause her to have a breakdown. At least there she’ll be safe from Carly’s wrath!
