It’s been almost two full months since General Hospital star John J. York revealed that he would take a break from his role as Mac Scorpio due to a recent diagnosis.

York addressed his recent medical diagnoses, which lead him to reveal that he suffers from two blood and bone marrow disorders. Those disorders are myelodysplastic syndromes, or MDS, and multiple smoldering myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders.”
York’s announcement brought fans together in support for the search for a bone marrow match. In his announcement, the GH vet gave information on how we could become potential donors. Moreover, it wasn’t just his fans that displayed immense support for York. His friend Jon Lindstrom reached out to the world via social media, sharing donor information. Then, soon after, John announced that they had found a match! Fast forward two months and his friend and co-star John Lindstrom updated fans on his prognosis.
