Laura Wright is no rookie. In fact, she’s been in the buzz for quite some time. The Emmy winning actress started off on a Soap Opera called Loving in 1991. Today, Laura’s been in the game for 30 years, and counting.

General Hospital star Laura Wright joined the legendary cast in 2005. She had big shoes to fill, and sometimes GH fans tend to express their opinions with vehemence. It’s not easy for recasts as they have to live up to a certain standard. According to past GH comings and goings news, Wright was the fourth actress to take on the role of Carly Corinthos.

First, Sarah Joy Brown originated the role and it was unimaginable to think of anyone else playing Carly. Then, Tamara Braun came along and GH fans were captivated by her raw emotions while portraying Carly. Sadly, Braun left General Hospital as well. Finally, Jennifer Bransford briefly stepped into the role before Wright took over in ‘05.

Reportedly, Laura has played Carly for nearly 19 of her 30 plus years in daytime television. Furthermore, shes worked alongside Mathison for about two years, according to recent GH news reports, Laura Wright reveals that Carly and Drew’s breakup scenes are her favorite scenes between herself and Mathison. Wright tells Soap Opera Digest, “I think they are the best scenes I’ve ever had with Cameron, ” Laura Wright confessed. “It’s some of the best work I’ve ever seen him do. He was so beautiful and raw.”
