General Hospital fan-favorite has evolved quite a bit over the past three decades.

Despite Steve’s deep association with the role of Jason (Quartermaine) Morgan, you might be surprised to know that he did not originate the role. In fact, Jason Quartermaine was introduced to the canvas in 1981. He was played by Quinn Carlson from 1981-1982. Then, Bryan Beck stepped into Jason Q.’s shoes from 1982-1988. Finally, the daytime drama did what the genre is known to do. They SORASed the Jason Quartermaine role and that’s when Steve Burton. took over and became a household name for millions of fans.

Over the years Burton has come and gone and came back to the GH canvas again. His departures always leave fans hoping and praying for a return. Luckily, all is right in Port Charles again now that Steve is back playing Jason Morgan.
