Spencer’s post was shared on Tuesday following the death of Sonya Eddy on Monday. Octavia Spencer writes, “The world lost another creative angel” … noting her “legions” of fans will truly miss her. We do not know what the cause of death is at this time.
Sonya Eddy’s portrayal of Epiphany Johnson was the heart of the GH staff. As Head Nurse, Epiphany was well respected by her colleagues and patients. In addition, even those trouble-making mobsters respected Epiphany. She always held a special place in her heart for her favorite mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Her relationship with Sonny’s muscle Milo Giambetti (Drew Cheetwood) was a breath of fresh air. Fans loved seeing Epiphany happy, especially with someone as kind and strong as Milo. She brought a caring and warm vibe to her stern managerial skills. Although she was a stickler for the rules, Epiphany always acted straight from the heart.
