General Hospital News: Maurice Benard Spills On Personal Struggles And Quitting GH

General Hospital’s leading man, Maurice Benard, is open about his mental health and actually uses his openness to help advocate for mental health awareness.

It’s no secret that Maurice has hit some road blocks along the way as his mental health challenged Benard in ways he didn’t anticipate.

General Hospital news and spoilers report that Benard has used his platform to dish on some personal struggles, including quitting General Hospital.

General Hospital spoilers reveal in an Instagram post by Benard, he reveals he at one point at the beginning of his career as Sonny Corinthos on GH, he quit and cried on the shoulder of Shelley Curtis. Maurice goes on to thank Curtis, Wendy Riche, Jim Warren, General Hospital ABC, and could-stars who played a major role in helping Maurice overcome his roadblocks. Those people include, Sean Kanan (ex-AJ Quartermaine), Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio), Rena Sofer (ex-Lois Cerullo), Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett), Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), and Wally Kurth (Ned Ashton).
