Rebecca Budig is known to many as Greenlee Smythe on ABC’s All My Children, which just let 10 years since its cancellation in 2012. Budig has been more recently known as Hayden Barnes on General Hospital.
Hospital news reports reveal, actress Rebecca Budig has opened up about a real-life experience that measures up to the drama she plays out on tv. Except for this time she couldn’t put it away when her work was done. Budig face birth to her daughter in 2014, and disclosed that at her daughter’s age of 5 months, Rebecca was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety.
She was going through some hard times in a point of her that she thought would be a happy time. General Hospital spoilers reveal, in a recent interview with Soaps In Depth, Budig opened up about her experience. She said, “What I thought would be the easiest, most joyful time of my life turned out to be one of the hardest,” Rebecca added. “Many women go through it, but the shame I felt was overwhelming. There is a ton of pressure when you become a mom. It starts with breastfeeding and on and on and on.”
General Hospital news reports reveal Budig has used her experience to create something positive, with the help of a friend, Michael Easton (GH’s Hamilton Finn). She disclosed, “One day I shared what I was going through with my friend, Michael Easton, and was encouraged to write it down,” she admitted. “What came of that is a short film based on my experience. I wrote and shot this film — under Michael’s direction — to share it with others in the hope that one woman won’t feel alone. That a loved one might open their eyes to how someone might be feeling.”
