Anna assured Jason she will do what it takes, even if that means eliminating Peter. With a single tear rolling down Anna’s cheek, it’s apparent she still cares for the man she thought Peter was.
General Hospital rumors claim Peter gives her no other option, and it will come down to Anna having to end Peter’s life. Valentin knows how difficult having to do that would be for Anna. He knows Anna cared for and loved Peter like a son, and to have to kill him would destroy her.

It’s possible Valentin steps in just in time to finish Peter off so that Anna doesn’t have to live with killing Peter. Valentin has been by Anna’s side from the beginning of this horrific nightmare. He too has ties to Peter, which makes it easier to understand Anna’s feelings and actions when it comes to how she has handled this situation.
