Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) reconnected years after their romance many years ago. Before she was had her daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Portia struggled in her marriage to Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews). GH recaps recall Taggert’s career as an officer of the law was taking its toll on his relationship with his wife. due to the nature of his career, Portia often felt alone and even somewhat alienated from certain aspects of Taggert’s life.
Fast forward almost two full decades, and Portia and Curtis find themselves together once again. They were hesitant to revisit what they had in the past because it was based off of a lie. Back then, Portia had an affair with Curtis, and never told him she was married to Taggert. They overcame their past and decided to give their love another shot. Now, as they approach their wedding day, a dark cloud hangs over their future.

Although she technically did lie, the nature of Jordan’s career prohibits any discussion of specific details outside of the department, Curtis felt like Jordan couldn’t trust him enough to let him in on what was going on. But, in Jordan’s mind, the rules are the rules, and she wasn’t about to risk her career.

Portia is lying to Curtis about personal matters which directly affect his life.
