Port Charles’ main mob boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), has committed some unthinkable crimes in the past and present, none of which he has actually served a considerable amount of jail time. It seems that no matter what Sonny does in Port Charles, he never actually gets convicted. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Diane Miller (Caroline Hennesy), or many of his other trusty attorneys have been able to get him acquitted of practically every dirty mob related crime he has ever been accused of. Many will say that Sonny is playing with fire when it comes to his recent activity with his former wife, and mother of his children, Carly Corinthos Jacks (Laura Wright). Carly is currently in a relationship with Franco (Roger Howarth), and Franco has some extremely damning information on Sonny. Sonny and Carly have been sleeping together behnd Franco’s back. Sonny is well aware that Franco knows that he shot AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan), yet he still gave into his desires to have sex with Carly. Franco has found out the truth about these two from his friend, Kiki Jerome (Kristen Alderson). Kiki overheard Carly and Sonny discussing their infidelity, and Carly thought she had Kiki convinced to leave well enough alone. Well, Kiki ended up spilling all to Franco, and Franco took it upon himself to spy on Carly with that hideous necklace with the hidden camera.
Sonny wants nothing more than to keep Franco quiet about what he knows, and Franco wants nothing more than to get revenge on Sonny for sleeping with his girlfriend. General Hospital spoilers reveal that Sonny and Shawn (Sean Blakemore) team up to come up with a plan to make Franco disappear. Meanwhile, Franco is has a plotting his next scheme to expose Sonny for his crime against Michael’s (Chad Duell) biological father, AJ Quartermaine. General Hospital spoilers also tease that Michael will turn his back on his entire family after learning what Sonny did to AJ, and that Carly has known all along. Morgan (Bryan Craig) also knows the truth, thanks to Michael’s girlfriend Kiki. Michael is the only one left in the dark about what his father Sonny has done to his biological father.

Some would say that General Hospital would not be what it is today without the character of Sonny Corinthos and the amazingly talented actor, Maurice Benard, who portrays him. There is some recent General Hospital news that has fans worried about the future of their favorite character, Sonny Corinthos. For a few months now General Hospital rumors have been indicating that Maurice Benard will be taking 6 months off of General Hospital as Port Charles’ most popular mob boss, Sonny Corinthos.
In the newest edition of ABC Soaps in Depth Magazine, the September 29th issue, it has been revealed that Maurice Benard’s contract is due to be up very soon and the actor has not yet re-signed. Benard is considering leaving GH to work on other projects. The actor told Soaps in Depth, “I take the contract day to day. I’m 100% happy at GH, I love Ron and Frank, but I want to do other things.”
It would be a sad time for General Hospital is Maurice Benard left the show. He has been an iconic character for so long that it is uncertain how the rest of the show that has been built around the mob would hold up in this situation.
Recent General Hospital rumors speculate that Sonny will go to jail for the murder of AJ Quartermaine, and that we will not see Sonny for about six months.

As usual, the cops and detectives over at the PCPD have arrested and jailed the wrong man. Carlos is strongly connected to the Jerome crime family members Ava and Julian. He took orders from Julian and his job was to act out on those orders. Somewhere along the way Ava got her grips on Carlos and he and Ava went behind Julian’s back. Ava had convinced Carlos to try and take care of AJ Quartermaine. Once night at the Quartermaine mansion, Carlos arrived in a mask and attempted to take AJ out. The attempt failed when Luke and Tracy walked in and interrupted the operation and put some attack moves on the intruder. Carlos fled the scene and AJ was left alive.
AJ was now still alive and Ava was very angry. AJ was about to tell Sonny that Ava killed Connie so she needed him dead. You now what they say, if you want something done right you better do it yourself! And that’s exactly what Ava was about to do. In a plot to end AJ, AJ and Ava were together at Julian’s apartment. Sonny strolled in and saw the two and immediately thought Ava was the damsel in distress. He got so angry with AJ about Connie, just as AJ was about to tell him Ava was the one who killed her, Sonny shot him!
To hide her involvement in AJ’s (and Connie’s) murder, Ava blackmailed Carlos into taking the wrap. Ava threatened Sabrina and her baby’s life if Carlos didn’t tell Anna that he was the one who killed AJ.
Now that it is know by a few Port Charles residents that Sonny is the actual killer, when will Carlos go free? Carly, Franco, and Sonny have all heard the recording on AJ’s phone of Sonny shooting AJ Ava’s involvement in it all. Once that recording gets out (and we know it will), will it be all over for Sonny? Can what happen to Carlos be rectified?
Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Carlos Rivera) is due to start filing episodes of GH late this Summer. Carlos is expected to arrive on screen in PC early September.

Sonny walked in on the unthinkable… as he went into Connie’s office he saw his love lying on the floor with a gunshot wound. AJ was out for blood, but we didn’t see him do it. Ava Jerome also has a violent past and wanted revenge on Connie for blowing her secret about Kiki out of the water. What do the fans think? Was it AJ, Ava, or an unknown third party?
Just as we all thought that Elizabeth and AJ were getting closer, today’s episode took their relationship down a whole new road. Even after denying the affections of Prince Nikolas and choosing to give AJ a chance, and even after AJ slept with Carly, Liz still stuck by his side.
Since AJ has found out that Kiki is not a Quatertmaine and that her votes did not count towards his win over Tracy, his true colors are shining through. You know what they say, people never really change. We thought AJ was trying to be a better person and Liz thought that he was trying to make a life for himself worth fighting for. When she showed up at The Floating Rib to show her support and help him through his loss of ELQ, he was less than grateful. He was lashing out at her and stepped over the line. After AJ was so cold to bring up Jake and tell Liz she wasn’t watching her child at the time of the tragic event, I do not see how there is a way for her to ever want to be with him. He cut her very deeply, attacking her and blaming her for the loss of her son. AJ and Elizabeth could have been a great couple, but I just don’t see how it could ever work now.

The battle between Tracy and AJ Quartermaine has been brewing for a few months, and now it will be taken to the next level!
