According to General Hospital news reports, Eva LaRue joined the cast of GH in a new role. on February 26th Natalia joins her daughter Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) in Port Charles.

Reportedly, Eva LaRule revealed how she came to fill the role of Natalia Rogers Ramirez. In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, LaRue explained the process that lead to landing on General Hospital. Additionally, the interview brought about insight into GH’s new character.

According to General Hospital news and spoilers, GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini basically handpicked LaRue to play Natalia. She explains in an interview that she received a call regarding to role in December. Reportedly, Eva told Soap Opera Dogest that friend and colleague Mark Teschner reached out. Additionally, LaRue confessed that GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini asked Mark Techner to reach out to Eva specifically . She was told that Valentini confessed, “I don’t want to see a bunch of people. I want Eva LaRue to do it. Will you see if she’ll come do it?” LaRue revealed.

Over the years, AMC and OLTL’s characters and their portrayers became like household names to so many Americans. So when the two daytime dramas ended their run in 2011 and 2012, a great loss was felt all over the country and beyond. Meanwhile, other shows in various genres tried and failed to successfully fill those time slots. Sadly, nothing every stuck and we soap fans are still missing our favorites. Thankfully, Port Charles seems like it has an unlimited population limit. ????

General Hospital star, Cameron Mathison, joined the daytime drama in August of 2021. In under two years, his portrayal of Drew Cain became wildly popular.

Prior to GH, Cameron was a well known actor. His most recognizable roles were as Ryan Lavery on ABC’s All My Children, as well as a popular TV show host. All throughout the late 90s and 2000s, Cameron’s face established recognition across American’s living rooms. Fast forward to 2019, and the popular daytime drama star faced real life challenges.

Cameron Mathison Survives Cancer

Previously, General Hospital news reports confirmed that Mathison was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August of 2019. In an interview last year, Mathison gave a health update in regard to life after surgery. He made note that he was better than ever. He revealed, “But honestly, never better. I think I’m as strong as I was in my mid-20s. I have more energy than I had 20 years ago.” Mathison told ET. The star added, “I’ve definitely got a different perspective on life for sure from this experience.”

Now, a year after that June, 2022 update, Cameron Mathison shared his story on Instagram. He sends his “love to all fellow survivors out there,” and shared a photo from his 2019 surgery.

Soap Opera News: AMC Star Walt Willey Recovering From Recent Surgery

The soap opera community is one that expands through the networks, including all daytime dramas. The cast and crew of various soaps seem to be like one hug family. That is why we feel it’s important to share news about fellow daytime star, Walt Willey.

Soap Opera news reports reveal All My Children alum, Walt Willey (AMC, Jack Montgomery) took to Twitter to announce he was about to undergone surgery (April 12th). I’m his post he shared the surgery would be the following day, and ask fans to “have it in their hearts say a prayer, think a good thought, light a candle, or however you wish to send good vibes my way (no animal sacrifices, please!) as I meet this challenge. Thanks so much.”

Fast forward a few days later and GH Blog has updated news on Willey’s recovery after surgery. On April 19th, Walt returned to Twitter to announce, “I’m ba-a-a-a-aack!” Walt shared an update with fans and his gratitude for their support. His surgery was a success and he was released on Easter Sunday. Walt is at home and recovering comfortably.

We are so relieved to learn and report the good news of Walt Willey’s recent surgery. We pray he continues to heal.
