Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) had finally come to terms with her battle with Huntington’s Disease. Also, she was coping with the loss of her love interest, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Furthermore, Dr. Westbourne and her mother were closer than ever.

GH recaps recall that Britt and Jason were well on their way to becoming a fan-favorite phenomenon when Burton was let go from the ABC Soap Opera. It took a bit for Dr. Westbourne to cope with his loss, but she was making progress. Then, Britt died tragically and inadvertently as one of the hook killer’s victims. That’s when Thiebaud announced that she was moving to London.

General Hospital news reports confirm that Thiebaud left the daytime drama series in the beginning of 2023. That’s when shortly after, ABC announced Steve Burton’s shocking exit.

According to a recent IG comment, Kelly tells her fans that she has tried to return to General Hospital. At this time it’s unclear whether she was told yes, no, or not now. But “I tried” sounds like Thiebaud approached GH Executives and may have been turned down (for now). Despite the fact that we saw Britt die in her mother’s arms, it’s not uncommon for characters to Soap Opera characters to return from the dead.

When she first arrived in Port Charles, Dr. Britt Westbourne was trouble. She was a successful doctor which helped her ego, and a little baddie when it came to her personal life. She knew what she wanted and she went after it.

Over the years Dr. Westbourne went from living up to her nickname, “The Britch,” to becoming a much softer version of herself. Eventually, she and her mother repaired their troubled relationship and became very close. Her shocking death rocked Port Charles as Britt died in Liesl’s arms.

Kelly Thiebaud left the soap in early January of 2023. The star’s exit devastated fans in a way that was more hard hitting than many other GH exits. First of all, not only did Britt die, she died in the most heartbreaking way. Additionally, the GH audience watched as her mother held her as she took her last breath. We saw a body. Unlike other exit storylines, Britt’s body didn’t go missing.

This makes it extremely difficult for her character to return. However, it’s difficult but not impossible. After all, this is a Soap Opera. According to General Hospital news reports, Kelly Thiebaud returns home to the United States after living in London with her then boyfriend PJ Harrison. Last month General Hospital Blog shared a possible clue that was posted by Thiebaud on the social media platform, X.

That is, only if you’re a fan favorite. Because not everyone has the luxury of popping in and out. Often times an actor leaves and the role is recast.

Saying goodbye to a favorite character/actor can be tough. And that’s exactly how we all felt when Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) lost her daughter. Unlike many other soap opera deaths, sadly, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is gone for good.

GH recaps recall recent storylines involving Dr. Obrecht. Retrospectively, so much has happened in such a short amount of time. For a while, Liesl was front and center in multiple lead storylines. First, losing her daughter, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), hit the hardest. Then, she becomes a marrow donor, then is kidnapped before the surgery. The entire thing was a huge ordeal for Willow’s family.

Fast forward, and Dr. Obrecht hasn’t been seen since she donated her marrow to Willow. Due to her noticeable absence, GH fans question the star’s status with General Hospital. Ironically, the thought that coming forward with the truth will set you free is virtuous and cleansing although damning to one’s reputation. Furthermore, admitting involvement in activity that caused a series of unfortunate events has its consequences. For Elizabeth, the guilt of it all weighs on her even though she’s free and clear where the law is concerned. However, just because she won’t experience legal ramifications doesn’t mean she’s off the hook.

Dr. Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) character has come a long way since she arrived on the scene as the most dreaded woman. What she had done to Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) as a way to get back at her mother, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), was considerably unredeemable.

General Hospital recaps explain how Liesl had Robin captive while making it look as though she had died in a lab fire at GH.
