There aren’t many television/ entertainment genres that can stake a claim in extraordinary longevity. Soap Operas are among the longest running forms of tv entertainment.
Other than The Simpsons, which came out in 1989, soap operas take the cake for having been on air for the most seasons/years. The animated sitcom is just about half the age as ABC’s General Hospital.
General Hospital news reports reveal two soap opera veterans are ready to celebrate a major milestone for longest currently running soap opera. Laura Wright joined the daytime scene in 1991 as Ally Rescott on Loving, brought the role to another show called, The City, the started on Guiding Light, before joining the cast of General Hospital. Cameron Mathison is no stranger to the soap opera scene. He joined the cast of ABC’s All My Children in 1997 as Ryan Lavery and ended his run in 2011. Mathison is now a on the front burner in Port Charles as Drew Cain’s recast. He took over the role from Billy Miller. Drew works alongside Wright’s character, General Hospital’s leading lady, Carly Corinthos.
General Hospital news and spoilers reports Wright and Mathison discussed General Hospital’s upcoming 60th year on air. Wright commented on her 17 year (and counting) run, confessing, “I love every second of it … it’s an honor … we’re kicking off in Graceland this October, our first big celebration of the 60 years, so the cast is going to be there and we’re super-excited.” Although new to GH, Mathison is Judy as excited about being part of this legendary show, admitting, “It feels like coming home for me,” he said. “It’s just been amazing … I come in to work super prepared knowing how good everybody is there…every day it feels like coming home.”
Laura was asked by GMA about her experience with working with Cameron Mathison, in which she replied, “Our work ethic is very similar [be]cause we started here in New York City.”
We can’t believe that General Hospital will turn 60 this coming April 1st! Wright and Mathison are among many of the cast members who will be kicking off the big celebration in Graceland this October!
The actor and actresses of General Hospital have a wide range of talent, enabling them to branch out to new projects.
General Hospital news and spoilers report GH newcomer, Michael Blake Kruse and Iowa native is headed back to the Midwest.
General Hospital spoilers reveal, according to Kruse’s Instagram, the actor as announced that’s he’s landed a prime time spot on Chicago PD. Kruse has previously starred in prime time roles in popular shows such as, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, Everything’s Fine, and Strange Angel.
Michael Blake Kruse made his announcement via Twitter and Instagram, captioned, “It’s great to be working in the Midwest again with the incredible cast and crew of CHICAGO P.D. So much to love about this city and show.”
General Hospital news reports have yet to disclose details and duration of Kruse’s new role of whether or not he’ll be exiting his role as Rory Cabrera on General Hospital.
General Hospital rumors hint that Rory will turn out to be a dirty cop, working for Selina Wu (Lydia Look), and about to carry out one of her orders- against Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali)! Make sure you keep up with the drama on GH, Monday-Friday at 2pm Eastern.
As Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) assessed her daughter Carly Cortinthos’ (Laura Wright) relationship with both Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and his brother Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), pointing how that no one will have Carly’s back the way Jason did.
General Hospital recaps recall Carly thinking over her current status with Jason’s brother, Drew, debating whether or not she should proceed with her feelings in the sense of a romantic relationship. Her mom was there to help out things in perspective, and when comparing Drew to Jason, Bobbie pointed out that Jason was Carly’s safety net, and that Jason would never turn his back on Carly and her impulsive choices. That doesn’t reign true for Drew.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly’s memories of being told Harmony’ Miller’s (Inga Cadranel) secret and being sworn to secrecy, she realized that Drew knows the truth as well. Carly has confirmation that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) biological mother, and Drew knows it.
General Hospital rumors suggest that Willow’s health crisis will bring the topic of her biological mother to the surface, promoting Drew to nudge Carly to tell the truth.
What happens if Carly doesn’t take Drew’s advice?
Carly has a mind of her own, makes her own decisions, and using her own logic. GH rumors suggest Drew will try to convince Carly to tell Willow and Nina what she knows. If things don’t go his way, Drew could possibly take it ipon himself to blow the lid off of Carly’s secret involving Nina and Willow.
Clearly Bobbie’s mention of Jason’s loyalty and how Drew wouldn’t be as accepting of Carly’s ways, is a way to pave a path toward the exposure of the big news.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has a master plan and in order to carry our said plan, it’s necessary that his family, the Cassadines, are united. And anyone who stands in the way will be dealt with.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Victor isn’t giving up on mending the differences between Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and his son Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Just as Spencer and Nikolas were becoming closer again, General Hospital recaps recall Spencer overhearing Ava Jerome (Maura West) call out Nikolas regarding his little tryst with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
The situation among the Cassadine family has gotten even messier now that Ava has been attacked with intent to kill. The suspect remains a mystery, while Nikolas seems to be in the hot seat.
Recent General Hospital previews indicate that Uncle Victor is determined to teach someone a lesson. He says, “no one crosses a Cassadine,” as he’s talking to Spencer outside a hospital room.
Victor believes Ava told Spencer about what happened between Nikolas and Esme, when in reality Spencer simply overheard the conversation between Ava and his father. Spencer has yet to tell his uncle how it really happened. Victor has been angry that Ava spilled the secret, blaming her for causing more trouble for the family. Ava has suffered enough. Will she be able to dodge any more consequences for being tied to the Cassadines?
General Hospital rumors suggest that Victor is a viable suspect in the mysterious attack on Ava. Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) has Uncle Vic in the defense. Will he try to intimidate her into leaving his family alone? Jordan should watch her back for any “lessons” Victor will be teaching…
Things were finally going Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) after many months of stress and worry about her future.
General Hospital recaps recall recent mental and emotional trauma the young woman has been suffering. Being framed for a crime committed against her besties, Trina was facing jail time. As a result of the accusations and trial, she was placed on hold at PCU and was at risk for being kicked out. Then things turned around to the brighter side when Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) came in clutch to save the day as he testified, which resulted in Trina’s exoneration. More good news came when she got word that she had been reinstated and could proceed with her college education.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Trina’s short string of good luck doesn’t last very long before receiving devastating news. Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) broke the news to Trina that her dear friend Ava Jerome (Maura West) has been brutally attacked by a mystery person. Now, all Trina can do is wait.
General Hospital spoilers and rumors suggest that these recent traumatic events have served as major stressors for the young woman, having a dismal effect on her mental health. GH rumors which claim her mother Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) has been lying about her daughter’s paternity which have light shed upon the truth when Trina begins showing signs of Schizophrenia. The connection between this mental disorder and Trina would be her alleged biological grandfather, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett).
GH rumors claim Portia’s secret will be outed when people start wondering where Trina’s newly presented mental illness stems from. It won’t be hard to connect the dots, pointing out Portia’s past affair with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) when she was married to Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews). Neither Taggert nor Portia hold any time of history with schizophrenia, making things quite obvious.
Now Portia will have to worry about her daughter’s health, along with potentially losing both men, Curtis and Taggert, and even Trina over her lies.
Former General Hospital star, Ingo Rademacher who played Jasper “Jax” Jacks, for over two decades has had some real life drama of his own relating to his employment with ABC.
General Hospital news and spoilers previously reported on Rademacher’s firing from ABC’s General Hospital, after a mandate for the Covid-19 vaccine was implemented in November of 2021.
Back in June of 2022, General Hospital Blog reported on some new developments which had unfolded in Rademacher’s case against the network. Those developments entailed a subpoena for documents against Ingo, stating he used an organization called, The Protection of the Educational Rights of Kids to find his lawsuit against Disney. Reports stayed Ingo was fighting back, making allegations of the company’s intentions to destroy his character.
Fast forward to present day, and General Hospital spoilers reveal there is much allegations coming forward. In a recent report, Rademacher has claimed to have obtained documents which prove ABC was planning to fire him before the mandate took place in November of 2021 for discriminatory reasons. Ingo alleges the documents prove ABC was in discussion to fire him due to his political beliefs, well before the November cut off, and that they were discovered and obtained as part of a typical process of both parties requirements to exchange files.
General Hospital news reports ABC has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and said its decision to fire Ingo Rademacher was proper. According to news outlets, a lawyer representing the network wrote, “[ABC] had an honest, good-faith belief that all decisions with respect to [Ingo] were made by [ABC] solely for legitimate, business-related reasons.”
ABC Network has requested that the court dismiss the entire lawsuit based on their statements against Rademacher’s claims. ABC stated company had “not acted in a manner highly offensive to a reasonable person and/or [Ingo] was not harmed by any such intrusion.”
The former GH star stands by his allegations, saying that these newly discovered documents prove the network was planning to fire him over political views by Summer of 2021.
General Hospital news and spoilers reveal the trial is set for February of 2023.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) haven’t had much of a relationship since they decided to take the next step. Once the two of them crossed that line in intimacy, the connection between the young couple began its disconnect.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cam and Joss can finally focus on each other now that the drama of their sex video is behind them and their friend Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) has been exonerated of all charges regarding that crime against her two friends.
GH rumors and spoilers indicate Cameron plans a surprise romantic night for Josslyn in an attempt to reconnect on all levels of their relationship. Josslyn hasn’t forgotten how he had shut her out when he held Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) secret on his method for helping Trina.
Josslyn feels the emotional bond between herself and Cameron has been broken. But has it been broken beyond repair?
GH previews hint that Cam’s surprise for Josslyn will end up giving him a surprise of his own when he is shocked that his girlfriend isn’t responding well to his efforts. Is Josslyn’s issue really just about Cameron and Spencer’s secret, or is she using that as an excuse since she’s become closer to Dex. Is this the beginning of the end for Josslyn and Cameron and a whole new beginning for Dex and Josslyn?
Ava Jerome (Maura West) is strong and capable. She’s a fighter and there’s no reason she won’t pull through this.
Ava is also a fighter in other aspects. She doesn’t take crap from anyone, stands up for herself, and doesn’t rule out food old fashioned revenge when the situation fits.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava is still furious with her husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) after learning he slept with his son’s girlfriend, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
General Hospital recaps recall Ava’s brutal attack this week while walking through the landscape at the Quartermaine mansion. The mystery remains unsolved and her attacker is still on the loose.
General Hospital rumors speculate how Ava will get her revenge on Nikolas. GH previews and spoilers suggest Ava will be questioned by the PCPD about what she remembers happening that night, hoping to hone in on the perpetrator. GH rumors claim Ava will tell law enforcement that her husband, Nikolas was the one who approached her in the dark and stabbed her with a hook.
Whether he did or or not, that’s not what matters to Ava. She wants Nikolas to pay for what he’s done to their marriage, and what a perfect way to do it!
The city of Port Charles is on high alert after a prominent woman within the community was brutally attacked by a mystery person. Many of those in attendance at the Quartermaine charity picnic are being questioned by Commissioner Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).
General Hospital spoilers reveal the PCPD has their eyes on multiple potential perps, but one person in particular is the main focus. In any classic case I’d a murdered woman, the first thing to do is point a finger at her husband.
GH rumors hint that suspicions are high surrounding Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). It’s no family secret that Nikolas and Ava’s relationship has been struggling, however, only a select few knew about his one night stand with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
General Hospital previews and spoilers hint that Nik’s behavior while being questioned by Jordan is suspicious, but it’s what he did when seeing Ava in her hospital is what has everyone convinced. Nik was caught standing over Ava as she lies there unconscious, with his hands in a peculiar position near her neck.
Even if Nikolas isn’t the one who had attacked Ava in the first place, he may be inclined to finish the job.
There isn’t a doubt in the world that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) are the real deal when it comes to true love. But sometimes love isn’t always enough.
General Hospital recaps recall Sasha’s most recent breakdown after being mentally and emotionally triggered during her feature talk show appearance while testing our baby products. Brando rushed to her side, along with her other supporters, co-workers, friends, and family. They all want what’s best for Sasha even if she doesn’t see things their way.
General Hospital spoilers reveal this unresolved issue with Sasha will create a rift between the fairly newlyweds. General Hospital previews indicate Sasha will question Brando’s faith in her. Although he believes his wife has the best of intentions for herself, he doesn’t trust she’ll be able to follow through. Brando knows all too well how strong the hold addiction has on someone.
General Hospital rumors speculate Brando wants to stand by his wife, but I’d sue isn’t helping herself there’s no telling how long they’ll be able to hold on before their love is no longer enough.
