Last weekend, it came as a shock to us all that actress Kristen Alderson would be leaving her role as Kiki Jerome on General Hospital. Alderson has been with the ABC network since she was 6 years old, working on the now canceled daytime drama, One Life to Live.
In a report last week, General Hospital Blog relayed Kristen’s message to fans that she would be making a goodbye video, explaining the reasons behind her departure. In the mean time, real life boyfriend Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) sent out a tweet to Soap Opera Digest, informing the magazine, and fans, that this was entirely Kristen’s decision. The actress had not been let go from GH, but rather she decided to take her life into a new direction.
In her goodbye message, Alderson explains to fans that she has been with ABC soaps since she was 6 years old, she is now 23, and is ready to challenge herself in her career.

Kristen played the role of Starr Manning on ABC’s now canceled One Life to Live since she was 6 years old. After the show got the ax, Kristen Alderson, Roger Howarth (ex-Todd Manning OLTL, Franco GH), and Michael Easton, (ex-John McBain OLTL, Silas Clay GH) joined the cast of General Hospital. Their origianl OLTL characters moved from Llanview to Port Charles and were building a life for themselves in their new city. However, a legal dispute between Prospect Park and ABC forced the execs at GH to chance the names of their characters.
Kristen Alderson has been on GH as Kiki Jerome since 2013. Over the weekend, social media has gone wild with the news that Alderson is ending her run on General Hospital. Kiki and Michael Corinthos recently broke up on the show, but in real life, Anderson and Chad Duell are still very much a couple.
Last night, Kristen sent out a tweet to her fans with a semi-cryptic message regarding this story. She wants her fans to know that she will explain the entire situation as soon as she is able to make a video for her announcement. Shocking casting news has just hit the media. Long time soap actress Kristen Alderson joined the cast of General Hospital after One Life to Live was cancelled. Alderson played the iconic role of Starr Manning on OLTL until the ABC daytime drama met its demise. When she joined the cast at GH, she reprised the told of Starr, but because of legal issues with Proslect Park, the executives at GH were forced to change the character’s name. She became Kiki Jerome, daughter of Silas Clay (Michael Easton, ex- John McBain OLTL) and Ava Jerome (Maura West). She also co-starred with OLTL TV father Todd Manning played by Roger Howarth.
Soap Opera Digest has reported that Kristen Alderson will be wrapping up her role as Kiki Jerome very soon. the reason for Alderson’s departure has not yet been revealed. General Hospital Blog will keep fans updated on any information regarding this shocking GH casting shake up.
This past year has been the year for new characters coming and going from General Hospital. POrt Charles has been like Grand Central Station with all the old characters popping in and out of town, along with new faces to familiarize with. Lately it seems that every time we get used to seeing a new face, they disappear.
In 2014 we were introduced to Robb Derringer’s portrayal of Agent Kyle Sloan. He really has it out for Anna Devane, even still after they shared a dance on New Years Eve.
Sources report that Robb Derringer was let go by the executives at GH and the role of Agent Kyle Sloan has been recast. The role will now be played by aAs the World Turns alum, Grayson McCouch.
General Hospital’s own Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) has been teasing fans for months with brief twitter posts and facebook announcements regarding the release of her new online show. The show will include many of the General Hospital cast, as we as Saturday Night Live comedians, and of course, Nancy herself.
The series will debut on Monday January 12th and will be followed by two more episodes. On February 2nd, another three episodes will be released. Nancy’s new show is called ‘GH Now’ and will include a lot of off the wall humor, comedy sketches, interviews, and more!

It’s no surprise that actress Lisa LoCicero who plays GH’s Olivia Falconeri is pregnant in real life. It seems as if these two have been waiting a lifetime to finally be together. With overcoming so many obstacles that kept them apart for a year, it would only be fair that the two could have their chance at love. Maxie and Nathan overcame her trip on her self discovering journey, the wrath of Levi Dunkleman, and the ridiculous rulings of Judge Walters.
Nathan gave Maxie a Christmas miracle by turning to his mother, Liesl Obrecht for help. They were able to sway Judge Walter’s decision regarding Maxie’s visitation with her daughter, Georgie. Maxie finally got to spend time with her daughter while visiting in Portland. Maxie is about to have everything she has ever wanted. Getting home to Nathan hasn’t been easy, but now that she is ready to come face to face with him, there could be yet another setback.
According to Maxie’s ex, Spinelli, Nathan’s private plan should have landed in Port Charles about a half hour ago, (from the time she called Spinelli). Why has’t Nathan’s plane arrived where Maxie is waiting impatiently? There could possibly yet another obstacle keeping Maxie and Nathan apart. The minds of the fans have already started to flirt with the obvious, a dark outcome. Could Nathan’s plane have crashed? Will Maxie ever get her chance to be with Nathan?
There has been a lot of back and forth regarding a certain GH character in regards to the actor’s status with GH. Earlier in the year, it was unclear if he would re-sign his contract due to involvement in other projects. This year he has been working on a very large project wich took much of his focus.
Today it has been announced that fan favorite and Port Charles’ most legendary mobster, Sonny Corinthos will be sticking around. Maurice Benard has sign a contract with ABC’s General Hospital, continuing his current status with the daytime drama.
It looks like Sonny won’t be leaving the show after all which is a huge relief for GH fans.
