The Nurses Ball of General Hospital has been a tradition in Port Charles since 1994. The event is to raise money in support of AIDS/HIV research while honoring the nursing profession and all the hard work and dedication nurses bring to the hospital and patients. Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is the founder, organizer, and hostess of the big event every year, and every year Lucy doesn’t disappoint when it comes to bringing the excitement. After 2013, The Nurses Ball became an annual charity event.
Although the event typically occurs in May, due to the global pandemic, The Nurses Ball will air this week on General Hospital.
We look forward to seeing Lucy and all The Nurses Ball participants perform their many talents. And it wouldn’t be a classic, General Hospital Nurses Ball, without crazy, dramatic, and shocking, events!
It’s no secret now that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and his son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel), have teamed up to trick Ava Jerome (Maura West) into leaving her marriage with Nikolas. Nik is stuck between a rock and a hard place because he doesn’t want to lose the Cassadine fortune if he just up and divorces Ava. Spencer isn’t fond of Ava since he blames her for the inconvenient situation she has gotten the Cassadine family in. If it weren’t for Ava, Spencer would never have lost his inheritance to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
General Hospital spoilers reveal Nikolas and Spencer have been working together to trick and manipulate Ava by pulling at her heart strings. Nikolas has told Ava that Spencer refuses to have anything to do with his father unless he divorces Ava. After confiding in Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Ava seems to have a soft spot in her heart for Nik and Spencer’s father/son relationship.
General Hospital rumors suggest Ava will have a change of heart and throw in the towel when it comes to her quest for the Cassadine fortune. But will she figure out their scheme before she makes anything official?
General Hospital rumors hint that Spencer may be making his way back to Port Charles to help Nikolas carry out their plan. The two will stage arguments in front of Ava, in an attempt to make her feel guilty for driving a wedge between them.
If Spencer returns to Port Charles, he and his dad will be able to carry out their scheme to push Ava out of the equation, allowing for the Cassadine boys to keep what is rightfully theirs.
Nicolas Bechtel debuted on GH in May of 2013 and has been popping in and out for the last few years. We hope to see Nicolas Bechtel return as Spencer very soon!

In an interview with Soaps In Depth, Zamprogna discloses that just decision to leave GH in 2018 has much to do with opportunity, (or lack there of). He had felt very busy and his tone was consumed with filming at GH, which gave him no time to explore other opportunities. He said, “I came down to L.A. with that job,” he said of his GH gig. “I knew nobody. I knew no casting directors, nothing.” Dominic Zamprogna also disclosed at at some point he wasn’t feeling confident in his own work- and that he felt he was feeling stressed when performing his scenes. He went on to reveal, “I went from going up on that stage and having a great time to going up on that stage and stressing out and just not feeling like I was doing good work.
