In November, General Hospital star Chad Duell confirmed his upcoming General Hospital exit. Chad joined the cast of General Hospital in 2010 as Carly and Sonny’s son, Michael Corinthos.

But what’s worse is that more and actors are being replaced entirely.

Lately, GH fans have noticed that Port Charles has turned into the upside down. That’s where the people of Port Charles experience somewhat of a parallel universe. Cyrus Targets Jason’s Family, Sam and Dex Were Murdered! Is Danny Next?! The streets of Port Charles are no place to be these days. Actually, nowhere in Port Charles seems like a place you’d wanna raise a family. Danger lurks at every corner, and no one is safe from the adverse effects of mob life. Apparently, whether or not you’re married to the mob, or you hold down an honest man’s job, the violence associated with the business knows no limitations.
The people of Port Charles are on high alert after a second mysterious death that took place at General Hospital. Two patients were admitted into the hospital for their own reasons and didn’t make it out alive. Unfortunately, sometimes we do lose loved ones right from the hospital. After all, it is where the ill and injured go, and there’s no guarantee of survival. But Sam and Dex’s deaths were not your average, everyday, natural deaths. It looks like we have a murder mystery on our hands.
According to General Hospital recaps, Sam McCall and Dex Heller died tragically in separate but similar freak, post-op mystery deaths. Although both arrived at risk, Sam and Dex were otherwise both healthy young people.
Dex Heller’s shocking death leaves GH fans asking why. It’s difficult not to reflect on the would’ve, should’ve, could’ves when it comes to Evan Hofer’s GH role. Certainly, General Hospital fans wanted a back story for the lover-boy, mob-traitor turned cop, Dex Heller.

Yes, the latest General Hospital rumors tease that Dex is Jason’s son regardless if he’s dead or alive.
General Hospital Rumors: The “reformed” brother of Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) continues to commit heinous crimes, but now he hides behind religion to carry out even murder. Apparently, Cyrus figured out that Dex is Jason‘s long lost son.
Psycho Cyrus believes that he’s morally superior to others and justifies his crimes by acting as a vigilante for no one who’s asked. For example, GH rumors hint that Cyrus killed Sam to send a message to Jason, and to clear the way for Lulu to be happy with Dante. Similarly, GH rumors tease that Cyrus killed Dex to send a message to Jason, and because Dex was too close to the scene of Cyrus’s most recent crime. He knew too much about Cyrus’s whereabouts around the time Sam died, so Cyrus took care of it.

From the motorcycle and black leather jacket, to his Stone Cold stature, Jason aesthetics are indicative of his risky and edgy lifestyle. But when it comes to love, Jason isn’t one to gamble with his heart. Jason doesn’t play games. Instead, he keeps it sensible, and doesn’t dive in heart first. Unfortunately, a recent tragedy has Jason even more cautious with his heart than ever before.
According to General Hospital recaps, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) just lost the love of his life. Sadly, Sam recently died after donating her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins). The Mob enforcer’s favorite color to wear might be black, but his love life has been pretty colorful. Sam McCall is the mother of his son, Danny, and his greatest and truest love. Despite Jason and Sam’s complicated relationship over the years, it’s going to be really hard for Jason to move on after losing a love like Sam.
In a perfect world Sam’s death would someday turn out to have been faked, and JaSam would reunite in love, and all would be right in the world. Well at least in Port Charles. In my opinion. 😜
Sasha And Jason Find Themselves Alone
But General Hospital spoilers reveal that the show must go on! That is, Jason isn’t doomed for loneliness for the rest of his life. There will be love for Jason after Sam’s (and Britt’s) deaths, and GH rumors tease that it’s Sasha who brings the color back into Jason’s world.
The Quartermaine Mansion just gained some new residents. Which means, as the Quartermaine’s live-in cook, Sasha has more mouths to feed. Sasha’s going to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen for real now that Dante, Rocco, Scout, Danny, and Jason moved in!
Dex Dies! Evan Hofer Checks Out Of General Hospital
Well that’s not cool! Let’s just say that there was so much potential with this actor, character, and storyline. Why would General Hospital kill off Dex Heller?!
Evan Hofer joined General Hospital’s cast in 2022. He came to Port Charles and immediately intertwined into the Corinthos family and all of their glory and gloom. At first, Michael Corinthos hired Dex Hellwr to work for him undercover. The assignment was personal for Michael, and eventually lines became too blurry and Michael called off the mission to take down his own father. Dex was ready to take on the task but become close to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) during the process. Then, betrayal severed a budding bond that unexpectedly developed between Sonny and Dex.
Meanwhile, Dex was falling in forbidden love with Michael’s sister and Sonny’s step daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). According to General Hospital rumors, GH had big plans for Dex. Many hints toward GH spoilers claimed that eventually Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would discover that Dex was his son.
Evidently, Evan/Dex’s fan has was strong as General Hospital fans used social media fan pages to comment passionately about the character and the potential story to be told. Sadly, no GH fan theories will ever come to fruition. Furthermore, Joss and Dex fans had hope for an epic romance, but not that hope has been crushed by another one of GH Executive’s unpalatable decisions.
GH Executives Make Another Unpalatable Decision- GH’s Dex Dies
Suddenly, all of the daydreaming and social media theories came to a screeching halt after GH’s Friday the 13th episode where General Hospital’s Dex dies! General Hospital recaps recall Dex was stabbed and left for dead after breaking up a fight with some teenagers. Judy like Sam, Dex was seemingly fine and going to me a full recovery. That’s when sudden death struck both Sam and Dex as a result of recent out-of-left-field storylines.
