GH vet hints at a Steve Burton return! Double-duty soap star Wall Kurth weighs in on the most talked about General Hospital topic of current times. Kurth knows all about working on two soap operas at once, so he has some credible insight on the situation. We might know him as Ned Ashton Quartermaine, but there’s another network that claims Kurth as well. Before there was Ned, Wally started as Justin Kiriakis on NBC’s Days Of Our Lives.
Wally Kurth Weighs In On Steve Burton
According to the latest General Hospital news, Wally Kurth shared some insight on today’s most talked about topic. As previously mentioned, Kurth currently works for ABC’s General Hospital, as well as Peacock’s Days Of Our Lives. Because of his experience, working on both soaps, he had a little something to add to a recent conversation.
In a podcast published to social media platforms, GH news and spoilers reports confirm that Kurth weighed in on the perpetual curiosity of Steve Burton’s aka Jason Morgan’s fans. Is he or isn’t he? Evidently, despite Burtons current contract status with DOOL, co-star Kurth said, “he’ll be back on the show (General Hospital) soon.”
Although Burton remains under contract, GH spoilers and news reports confirm that the iconic mob enforcer signed a one year contract which will be up in March of 2024. So far it’s six months down and six to go before his contract with Peacock’s Days.
Despite his 2021 exit, many argue that ABC’s General Hospital is Steve Burton‘s home. Compromising his beliefs wasn’t something he was about to do to keep his job. However, the mandate has been lifted. Therefore., that being said, along with thirty years as Jason Morgan under his belt, fans hold out hope he will return to GH.
What do you think? Is Wally Kurth’s prediction right?
Sonny’s most memorable enemy REVEALED! …I’m not sure how I would take it if I was given that title. Actually, never mind. Being named Sonny Corinthos’s most memorable enemy is nothing short of an honor. Especially if that’s what you were going for all along.
Undoubtedly, Sonny has had the cream of the crop when it comes to top tier villains. Over the years, all of Sonny’s enemies gave him a run for his money. From Frank Smith to Faith Rosco (Cynthia Preston), Manny Ruiz to Anthony Zacchara, Sonny’s had his mob work cut out for him. And of all the men and woman who’ve ever had it out for Sonny have tried and failed. But there is only one “the boss” has named his most memorable enemy.
As you know, Maurice Benard is currently on tour. Maurice Benard: The Milestone Tour, is hitting the east coast and mid-west areas. In the past GH fans have expressed their interest in seeing Maurice at fan events outside of his own region. However, it became widely known that Maurice was never a big fan of flying. Understandably, this issue served as an obstacle for Maurice and fans to connect.
Maurice Shares Most Memorable Enemy
Well, fast forward to present day, and Maurice has overcome so much! In 2023 his determination overpowered his fears and he hopped on that place in March. It was the first time flying without his wife, Paula. Naturally, with every experience brings one more at ease with the situation. Maurice is bigger than his fears and it shows. I for one am particularly grateful for this milestone as he finally paid a visit to good ole Detroit (technically, Royal Oak).
That being said, we have some GH spoilers to share- straight from the mobster’s mouth. Thursday night’s event drew General Hospital fans together for an evening with the iconic Maurice Benard. There he spoke to fans about his passions, vulnerabilities, told jokes, laughed and even teared up. During his show, fans were able to ask questions. That’s when someone asked Maurice who he considered to be Sonny’s most memorable enemy.
It didn’t take the family man with a gangster’s alter ego long to spill the tea. The last three decades provide ample opportunities to choose the his biggest villain since each and every one has left a mark. Ultimately, General Hospital Blog reveals that Benard hands Ted King aka Alcazar (Luis and Lorenzo) the honorable title. The early 2000s was wild with mob drama in Port Charles. From 2003-2007, Alcazar was Sonny’s biggest threat… and apparently he left a mark!
Carly Hughes joins GH! …A new face shows up in Port Charles for a very important job.
Amidst all the mob drama on Port Charles, others involved themselves in the latest business scandals around the city. According to General Hospital recaps, a stunned Brooklyn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) announced that Deception was being sued. Apparently, the lawsuit claims that the cosmetics company stole the Deceptor concept.
General Hospital news reports confirm that Port Charles gets a fresh face while Pine Valley Attorney Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) gets some stiff competition. According to GH news spoilers, actress Carly Hughes joins GH as Lucy Coe’s Attorney in the case against Deception. It seems that Montgomery will represent the plaintiff. Expect to see both Hughes and Willey beginning the week of August 28th.
It’s difficult to hold back our opinions these days, especially where social media is involved. Most people are more inclined to speak their minds and let their feelings out when behind a keyboard. That being said, General Hospital news reports reveal GH fans have been threatening to boycott the soap opera after Steve Burton was let go after noncompliance with the recent mandate.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that GH star Steve Burton has let fans know that he is not angry about the current situation and that the fans should not be angry for him. He revealed, “I’m not angry so you don’t have to be angry for me.” Burton explained to his fans. “I don’t have any anger. I’m not upset. I’m at peace with my decision. I’m at peace with moving forward with my life and I appreciate all of your support.”
In addition to Burton’s comments regarding a GH boycott, co-star and friend, Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), added, “We don’t want General Hospital to go away.”
We are right there with you guys! We don’t want GH to go away either! Please continue to support the show and place and people Steve Burton calls home. ???? ????
It’s an understatement to say that General Hospital fans have become angry at the recent events which lead to the firing of GH leading man and legend, Steve Burton. Many believe Burton cannot be replaced as the iconic Jason Morgan, and others just want to see the character live on.
General Hospital news reports confirm Steve has gone on the record to address his plans post-life as Jason Morgan on General Hospital. He also addresses the fan’s feelings toward the whole ordeal. He admits that he knows people are angry, but encourages his fans not to be angry for him, as he himself isn’t angry.
General Hospital spoilers reveal recent Zoom sessions where Steve reveals his future plans. Regarding his exit, he said, “As sad as it is, it’s exciting also, for me…everyone’s been so gracious saying ‘Hey! Another show will call.’ If they do, awesome. We’ll see what it is but right now I’m really happy being home and figuring out what the next venture is.”
Right now, Steve has been done taping scenes at GH for about six weeks. He is enjoying being home and able to take his kids to school every day. Burton explained he isn’t in any type of rush to make his next career move. He disclosed, “My first inclination is to not rush to go anywhere right now.”
Steve Burton did mention he has visions of his next move which would involve coaching. Burton Nutrition is owned and run by Burton, as his health and fitness interest also serves as a career opportunity. When referring to his future, he described his thoughts on what’s to come by stating, “It’s gonna be something, definitely something with coaching. Coaching guys with nutrition and fitness but also mindset coaching cause that’s really been the key for me in the last year is the mindset so if I can help people improve their lives or change something in their lives to make their lives better, that’s kinda the route I wanna go because I’m really passionate about it and I love it and I love doing it.”
It sounds like Steve Burton has left the role of Jason Morgan with his head held high. He previously stated that he’s love to return to his home at General Hospital someday, if and when the mandate has been lifted. We hope for the same outcome, Steve! And we WILL be holding our breath for your return.
Steve Burton went on to express his feelings on fans who have stated they will boycott GH now that he and Jason are gone. He encourages fans not to take that route and the importance of keeping this legendary soap opera on the air. “I’m not here to tell anyone to stop watching the show. I never would have even in 2012. That’s my home. People make their living that way and those people are important to me still, it’s still my family,” Steve said.
If you’re thinking of giving up on General Hospital over Steve’s exit, please take his words of advice into consideration. The ones he loves make their livelihood from our beloved soap. There’s no sense in causing cast and crew to lose their jobs over this. Steve made it clear that he isn’t mad and doesn’t want his fans to be mad for him. Steve took the high road and stood up for his belief in freedom. We can’t be mad about that!
