It’s safe to say that GH fans can accredit General Hospital’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini for the bit of 90s nostalgia going on in Port Charles. It’s always nice to see familiar faces return over the years, bringing a sense of tradition and history.
Recently, General Hospital’s latest casting news shakes things up around Port Charles, especially the Quartermaine family. Earlier this year, word of Sofer’s The Bold And The Beautiful departure, fans immediately began to speculate a GH return. Finally, Rena Sofer returned to General Hospital as Lois Cerullo after nearly three decades.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Sofer explains how Lois’s return came to be. The actress then detailed the events that lead to her GH return. Evidently, this has been in the works since 2021. Rena explained that she was still playing Quinn on The Bold And The Beautiful at the time the idea originated.
Upon her GH return, Sofer spilled the tea to Soaps In Depth. “Out of nowhere, Frank reached out to me by text asking if I’d be willing to talk to him,” she continued. “I said, ‘Of course.’ The last time I saw Frank was at Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, The Young And The Restless) and Chad Duell’s (Michael Corinthos, GH) wedding October 2021); we sat with each other and it was really great to see him.
Is Lois Cerullo Here To Stay?
“He was like, ‘I would love to get you back to GH,’” she continued. “At that time, I was still on The Bold and the Beautiful and I wasn’t even discussing it with him. But with this Eddie Maine story happening, it just really seemed like an absolutely perfect time to have Lois come back for a short amount of time to try to get Eddie to remember that he’s Ned. So Frank reached out to me and asked me if I’d be willing to come back for a short amount of time and I said yes.”
“I’ve played a lot of characters in my career and Lois is probably one of the top three characters I’ve ever played in 37 years of being an actress,” Sofer admitted. “So to be able to go back and do it was unreal.
“It’s just interesting to play her at this age,” she added. “She’s still loud and she’s still mouthy. She was still a lot like me, except with a Brooklyn accent and nails. But also, the story isn’t about me. The story is about Brook Lynn. The story is about Eddie Maine and Ned, so I need to respect that. This is not about me coming back and telling my story; this is about me coming back and supporting the stories that are there with me trying to create the knowledge of who Lois is now, 27 years later. So that is challenging, but also, part of the fun.”
Port Charles feels a little more like when I began watching now that Ned, Eddie, and Lois are together again!
Finally, the day (in Soap Opera time) is here! Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) gets to marry the man of her dreams! You know, the one that she lied to, gaslighted, and stole (among other things) from another woman. And not just any woman, but THE woman of Sonny’s dreams.

Nina has lived in her delusion that Sonny will keep “Mike” at his core. But in reality, he’s Sonny through and through. They just aren’t a good fit, it’s as simple a that. Nina Leaves Port Charles?!
According to General Hospital previews and spoilers, Nina drops a major bombshell to a dear friend. For some reason, she feels the need to leave town. That’s when Nina tells Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that she’s leaving PC. Maybe she finally feels guilty for what she’s caused. Undoubtedly, Nina’s caused a slew of problems around Port Charles. Plus the lies she’s told and secrets that she keeps catch up with her.
Does Nina feel guilty and know she’s done for? Or is this just a case of the wedding jitters? Does Nina have cold feet? ???? ????
It must be so strange for Willow to bring herself to call either of these women her mother. The woman who “raised” jet was the only mother she’d ever known. It’s no secret that Willow and Harmony’s relationship with strained, and downright toxic at times. However, Harmony loved her “daughter” and despite her mom’s actions, Willow loved her too.
GH recaps recall Willow’s waiting room catnap. She dozed off at the hospital and was awakened by a disturbing dream. I’m the dream, her late mother Harmony came to Willow with a warning. Willow tells Nina what Harmony said in her dream and now Nina fears Harmony’s warning. From the looks of things, One of Willow’s mother’s is most likely warning her about her other mother, Nina.
See, Nina knows what she’s done and that’s why her secrets must stay buried. Because if Willow finds out then her chances at a relationship with her daughter are over.
How could she?! That’s the big question as of late. Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) has more b@lls than the Kerry Hotel ball pit in Pudong Shanghai, which is the largest in the world. In fact, the Kerry Hotel holds the title in the Guinness Book Of World Records. Now that’s big!
Disturbed is an understatement for the effect Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) storyline had on GH fans. According to GH news, fans have reportedly expressed that this storyline is too much and that they do not watch the scenes. Additionally, some threaten to step watching General Hosptial altogether if the torture doesn’t end ASAP for Sasha.
Personally, I find Sasha’s struggle with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder) riveting. While undoubtedly disturbing, Sofia is able to showcase her true acting talents as she depicts Sasha’s agony. General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that the audience finally reaps the reward of sticking it out as the writers inflict more and more pain onto one young woman.

Gladys is about to get what’s coming to her, and Sonny Corinthos is the one to deliver! She’s so afraid of cousin Sonny that Gladys threw Sasha under the bus again to save herself from her cousin the mobster. He knows darn all that Nikolas is alive but he’s playing this game with Mason and their mystery boss. While it’s apparent that Austin can’t be trusted, he doesn’t aw all bad. Perhaps he’s being forced or coerced? Either way, Ava can’t trust him.
Now she’s been abducted by his cousin and her life is in danger. However, GH spoilers and rumors hint that Mason makes a decision that saves Ava’s life. As more about Cyrus’s connection to Mason and Austin unfolds, GH rumors speculate that Cyrus ordered Mason to kill Ava but Mason can’t go through with it. Instead, he brings her to Nikolas Cassadine. But before you get all starry eyed over Mason’s act of heroism, take into consideration that it wasn’t all selflessness. Nope, he didn’t do this out of the pure kindness of his heart. Ok, maybe a little.
