General Hospital is full of youthful talent. Over the years, child actors have gotten their start at fame on ABC’s longest running television drama. The 61 year old Soap Opera showcases these children’s acting skills with the potential to grow along with the show, or build their skills and talents then move onto other projects. Either way, child actors can ultimately become major characters as they get older.

The Iconic SORAS

However, not all child soap stars are so lucky. In fact, it’s very common for a daytime drama to play around with the ages of these characters. The daytime community and its audience likes to call this action, SORAS. Which stands for Soap Opera Rapid Age Syndrome. Therefore, one day little Bobbie Sue could be a 2 year old, then before you know it the child is miraculously a 15 year old attending PC High. While no Bobbie Sue actually resides in Port Charles, you can get my drift.

As for Emma Drake, General Hospital has stayed relatively true to the character’s actual age until recently. Still, Emma has not been SORASed with a recast with Silzer in the role. GH recaps recall that Emma Drake was born on November 4th, 2008, which makes her 15. I remember this vividly as I was pregnant at the same time as Kimberly McCullough’s character, Robin Scorpio Drake. Coincidentally, my daughter was born on October 17th, 2008, just before Robin gave birth to Emma. Unlike Emma, my daughter Lola is 15. Although they were born in the same year, Emma is meant to be about 22 years old at this time.

According to General Hospital news, Emma’s original birthday was changed from 2008 to 2006. Then it was revised again to 2005 and finally settled at 2002. In real life, GH news reports confirm that Emma’s portrayer Brooklyn Silzer was born on April 27th, 2006. Evidently, Silzer is approaching her 18th birthday!

What’s a man gotta do to get some loyalty around Port Charles?! Some would argue that this time Sonny shouldn’t complain… but others see how he’d feel betrayed after what those three have kept secret!

Nina isn’t the only one in town who is keeping secrets. But the difference between her lies (and those of omission) and a few other’s is the driving force behind the deception. Clearly, Nina’s motives were strictly vindictive. On the contrary, others in Port Charles use deception in the name of protection. But that still doesn’t excuse the lie. It’s a whole complicated web of actions and intentions, and the Corinthos family is in the thick of it.

According to General Hospital spoilers and rumors, Sonny gets another blow while he’s still processing having been betrayed by his wife. Ninas lies harbored those of others that came before hers. That leads us to Michael’s devious plan to destroy his own father. Dex’s presence in Port Charles only takes place because Michael hired him to take down Sonny. Eventually, Sonny’s disgruntled son came to his senses and called off the job. That’s when Carly and Michael decided to keep Dex on payroll for another reason. Now, he was to protect Sonny. While their intentions may be good natured, GH rumors claim that Sonny won’t care.

It’s inevitable that sooner or later the turn will come out. First, Michael hired Dex to destroy Sonny, then, Carly, Michael, Dex, and Joss conspired to keep another secret from the mob boss. In retrospect, Carly caused a lot of problems for the Q family back in the day. It was back when she got pregnant by AJ (Sean Kanan), but convinced Jason to pass baby Michael off as his own. Over the years Carly and the Quartermaine family have managed to play nice most of the time. Needless to say, some members of Michael’s biological paternal side have held resentment toward Carly and Sonny for raising Michael as a Corinthos when he’s technically a Quartermaine. But the Qs are known for their tough exterior, especially Tracy Quartermaine. That’s why Tracy’s next move is a shock to her family as well as GH viewers.

According to the latest GH previews, Michael gets Tracy’s approval despite having been the family black sheep of the younger generations. Perhaps it’s time that Tracy realizes that Michael has paid his dues as a Quartermaine throughout the years. GH rumors tease that Michael’s just as shocked as the viewers when Tracy’s pat on the back is sincere.

Is it possible that Tracy approves of Michael’s recent, covert business scheme? First, Michael knew that Nina was the one who turned his mom and drew into the SEC and stay quiet.
