Reportedly, GH fans recognize that this isn’t the first time an actor was unjustifiably axed just to have fans rally in support of their return. Back in 2011, General Hospital a fan-favorite was unexpectedly let go from the Soap Opera. Rebecca Herbst began portraying Elizabeth Webber in 1997. And in her 14th year the executives decided to fire the actress. That’s when General Hospital fans rallied together in support of the actress, demanding an immediate reversal to her firing. Thankfully, their efforts proved effective, and Herbst’s job was saved.
Now that the damage is done, we can only hope that history repeats itself. Although GH has fired Kelly Monaco, all hope is not lost.
