Antonio Sabato Jr. Films 426 Movie In My Hometown! …ABC’s General Hospital may have just killed off his iconic GH character, but Antonio Sabato Jr. is alive and well, and filming a movie!
Last year, General Hospital brought back an iconic character. The decision shocked GH fans when the role of Jagger Cates was recast. Antonio Sabato Jr. was no longer the face of one of the most famous Daytime Television characters in the 1990s. Instead, actor Adam Harrington took over the role.
Recently, General Hospital news reports confirmed that GH has killed off Agent John Jagger Cates. This was another decision that threw GH fans for a loop. Sadly, the character was brought back but had zero redeeming qualities, and now he’s dead. Unfortunately, the legendary 1990s icon is officially over. While Sabato Jr.’s face became most GH fan’s reason to tune in, he wasn’t the one in the role at the time of the character’s death.
Most recently, Sabato revealed that his acting career is alive and well despite Jagger’s untimely death. Long time enemy Sonny Corinthos shot him in cold blood. General Hospital may have closed the door on Jagger, but Sabato’s is currently filming a new movie. In fact, the TV/movie star and model relocated for a new role. General Hospital news and spoilers report that the original Jagger Cates is filming a Christian based movie in my hometown of Washington Twp., Michigan.
Sonny And Jason Take On Jagger! Over the years Jason and Sonny’s bond has developed into more than just best friends. Actually, they are like brothers and beyond. Despite Sonny’s doubts, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has never wavered when it comes to his loyalty to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). But it’s understandable why Sonny would question Jason’s three year absence. Needless to say, Jason had some explaining to do upon his Port Charles return. However, Sonny wasn’t having any of it until Jagger was exposed.
General Hospital recall that Sonny wasn’t too receptive to Jason’s homecoming. In fact, Sonny doubted his best friend when he couldn’t make sense of the situation. However, now that Sonny knows the truth, the dream team is back!
According to General Hospital spoilers and previews, mobsters Sonny Corinthos And Jason Morgan Take On Jagger. Agent Cates has a one track mind and Sonny Corinthos is the final destination. The latest GH spoilers indicate that these two besties work together again to defeat an enemy. They plot against a blast from their past but Jason has no memory of Agent Cates, aka Jagger from back in the day..
Will Jason and Sonny successfully outsmart Agent Cate’s plan?
Jagger Cates (Adam Harrington) has it out for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), now and always. Their feud dates back to the early 1990s when Sonny was as bad as they come. Strip clubs, drugs, vulnerable women- Sonny was involved in it all.
Jagger Forced Jason to Work for the FBI
Apparently, times hasn’t healed Jagger’s wounds as he still feels pain from what happened to Karen. It might sound like over dramatic excuses to Sonny, but Jagger is very serious. Like Ava said, Jagger will never believe that Sonny was trying to help Karen all those years ago. Furthermore, Ava’s mob experience makes her no stranger to Sonny’s situation. She knows damn well than an FBI agent with a grudge is not someone you want on your tail. Presumably, an agent that has an issue with a certain criminal will hint them down until they’re caught.
General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that Jagger is holding back. He knows more about the situation than he’d like to admit, and he’s more involved than he wants anyone to know. His anger and high emotional reactions suggest that he has it out for Sonny. The FBI is desperate to bust Sonny so they use the perfect tool to get the job done.
General Hospital Spoilers: Jagger Reveals Dex’s Parents
It was one day back in 2022 when Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) decided to leave everything behind and come to Port Charles. He risked it all to carry out a convert mission. And once he and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) sealed the deal, Dex Heller was to gather incriminating information against PC mob boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
According to General Hospital recaps, Dex became Michael’s informant and Sonny’s employee and friend. Unbeknownst to Sonny, the developing bond with his newest right-hand man was built on a lie. Furthermore, his own son set the whole thing in motion. GH spoilers tease that the emotional complexity and true nature of these relationships tell of a long history. Apparently, Dex’s roots run deep in Port Charles.
Jason Morgan and Karen Wexler
GH comings and goings bring Jason Morgan back to the canvas. Along with Steve Burton’s return to GH comes with much speculation about Jason. The way things have been going, it’s looking more and more like Jason Morgan very well could be Dex Heller’s father. While many GH fans are intrigued by the possibility, the aspiring mobster’s mother is also in question. If Jason Morgan is Dex’s father, then who his mom?
Jagger Reveals Dex’s Parents
Looking back at Jason’s relationships, Karen Wexler’s name comes screaming at my mind. She was always torn between Jagger and Jason. And GH history recalls that Karen chose Jagger in the end. But wild GH rumors claim that their love triangle brought about a permanent reminder. Was Karen pregnant with Jason’s baby when she married Jagger? According to the latest GH rumors, Karen and Jagger gave her and Jason’s baby up for adoption.
The connections all make sense. Jagger is back and Jason is set to return in just a few short weeks. Sonny shipped Dex out of town, but Jagger just might tell Sonny (or Jason) exactly who Dex is. So do you think that Karen and Jason could be Dex’s parents?
Last week’s General Hospital brought the shock factor to its audience on many different levels. Obviously Spencer and Esme made us gasp, Avery Pohl’s unexpected exit, Nikolas and Ace’s return to Laura, and more contributed to the ultimately shocking storylines.
General Hospital recaps highlight Spencer and Trina’s life or death situation. Their families came together to help rescue them from Esme Prince. While it looks like Esme and Spencer are swimming with the fishies, GH news reports confirm that Nicholas Alexander Chavez will return as Spencer, but Avery Pohl’s exit is indefinite. Now Trina is traumatized after the event and losing Spencer. To be honest, I’m traumatized too lol. I want Esme back! It still boggles my mind that GH took this direction. But that’s for another post at another time.
Anna’s Taken Aback By Jagger
Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) engage in their own life threatening drama. The two find themselves in an FBI ambush as they try to crack a case of their own. That’s when Jagger showed up. General Hospital spoilers reveal that a blast from the past has come back. Those who watched GH in the early 90s know exactly who Jagger Cates is. However, anyone would be confused and shocked by this because todays Jagger isn’t the man who made the role an iconic piece of American culture and Soap Opera history.
According to GH news reports, Jagger was recast with actor Adam Harrington. While Antonio Sabàto Jr. helped create the role over 30 years ago, it’s been reported that Sabato Jr. was not asked to reprise the ever-popular the role. Now, the actor has come out to speak on the subject.
In a now-deleted Instagram video, Sabato Jr. addressed a statement about Jagger’s recent recasting. “I’m being bombarded with a lot of questions about this General Hospital thing. You need to know the truth from me and you need to know the only truth about what’s going on.”
Antonio Sabato Jr. Address Jagger Recast
There’s no denying that Antonio Sabato Jr.’s role as Jagger Cates took the GH fandom by storm in the early 1990s. Certainly, his face became recognizable across the world as General Hospital fans tuned in to see what’s next. Antonio addressed the early starved of the character, and Jagger’s worldly popularity. “At the beginning of my career, I started on a character that I truly, truly adore, that I created with Wendy Riche, the executive producer, and an amazing team of writers at General Hospital back in 1992. I was on General Hospital from 92 to 94, playing a character by the name of John “Jagger” Cates.
Jagger Cates Popularity
I’ve been asked by the fans by millions all over the world, not just in America and in North America, but all over the world, about coming back to General Hospital for 30 years. Now, like I said, I’m doing very well. I’m not begging to go back on the show. This is not about that. I have many careers. I’m still acting very well. I have a movie coming out. I have a lot of things coming out and I’m very proud of.”
Reflecting on his popularity as Jagger, and the irony that he was never asked to return, Sabato stated, “I’ve never been asked to come back on General Hospital for 30 years. The producers at General Hospital, ABC, and Disney, they know where to find me. They know where I am. The fans always ask me every single day, ‘Are you going back to General Hospital?”
Adam Harrington Steps In as Jagger Recast
Fast forward to this week. It’s 2024 and has been 30 years since Sabato Jr. played the iconic Jagger Cates. Suddenly, the news hit fans and Antonio like a brick. He was bombarded with questions from fans, asking about the recent GH casting. That’s when Antonio commented on Jagger’s revival, and the fact that he wasn’t asked to step back into the role. Instead, GH hired Adam Harrington to take over as the memorable Cates.
“They don’t even call him ‘Jagger’. They call him ‘John’ because they know that the character’s only been played by me ’cause it’s part of who I am. It’s my life. It’s a character that is really a big part of, of my soul that I dedicated my life. And that’s what it turned out to be. I gave everything I have to that character and I would still do. So, the truth and the fact of the matter is people say, well, ‘you ruin your career because you voted for this or political or this and that.’ I shouldn’t be hired on my political views. I should be hired on my merit, on my acting abilities because you know, that works.”
“So this is on them hiring a new person, which is fine. They could do whatever they want. But hey, but for all the fans around the world to speculate or to say, you know, I ruined my career and all this stuff, mo, that’s not it. So now you know the truth. I’m gonna leave this out there for you to see.”
According to GH News and spoilers, Antonio’s message was addressed in a now-deleted IG video. Please be sure to check back with us at GH Blog for the latest developments.
