General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Fills A Void That Jason Left, Dex Finds A Father Figure

Dex replaces Jason with Sonny?! Sonny Corinthos is so many things to so many people. His loyalty extends to those who equally practice and display the same loyalty. If you’re in a position to mean something to Sonny and vice versa, then consider yourself lucky.

Evidently, Sonny makes such an impression that even some of his enemies end up as friends and more. One enemy in particular is Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). The junior gangster was born for this position, quite literally. When Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) found Dex, they were both sure they would bring Sonny down. Hence, Dex was once Sonny’s secret enemy. But despite his initial intentions, Dex spills his true feelings.

General Hospital recaps revisit Dex’s confession as he tells Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) what a Sonny now means to him. He explained, “I’ve never had anyone in my life like him. I just feel like he’s taught me so much about what it means to be a man.” Immediately, this scene bright fans to social media platforms with buzz about Dex and Sonny. According to the latest GH rumors, Dex had a deeper reason for wanting coming Port Charles. As it turns out, working for Michael wasn’t just for Michael’s benefit in his quest to destroy his father. Instead, taking the job was a means to an end for Dex.

Dex Replaces Jason with Sonny

Previously, speculation about Dex’s connections pointed straight to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Since Maurice Benard revealed that he’s done with Sonny having kids, some fans finally jumped off the. bandwagon that claims Dex is Sonny’s son. However, Jason is another story. Dex just admitted he’s never had a father figure. And just as GH Blog predicted, Dex longed for that connection. Odds are he came to PC to get revenge on the man who (unknowingly) took his father away.

See, GH rumors claim that Dex grew up without a father and it’s possible his mother told him that Jason chose mob life over fatherhood. So he came to PC for answers and revenge. But he never imagined he’d find what he was always looking for. A father figure.

Given that Jason worked for Sonny for the majority of his life, his line of work took him away from family life. As a result, even his love life with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and their kids was severed. Ultimately, Jason chose working for Sonny over being a father.

GH rumors hint that Dex is Jason’s long lost son. Of course, with news like that comes many questions. Such as who is Dex’s mother. That’s yet to be determined, but anything is possible on soaps. He envies Michael for having a loving father to have cared for him into adulthood. Therefore, Dex resents Sonny having a family while Jason could not. Now that Jason is presumed dead, Dex will never her the chance to know his father.
