Winner of the Outstanding Supporting Actor category at the 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Jeff Kober, has opened duo about his role as Cyrus Renault, his ties to Mayor Laura Spencer Collins, and his own working dynamic alongside the legendary Genie Francis.

General Hospital news reports revealed the cast and crew is celebrating their 15,000th episode of iconic soap opera, General Hospital. The tribute episode will air on June 20th, featuring Genie Francis as Laura Spencer Collins.

GH news reports reveal Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, along with General Hospital’s two longest running contract actors, Maurice Benard and Genie Francis, shared some inside scoop with ABC7 Entertainment Reporter, George Pennacchio, surrounding the special June 20th episode.

When speaking with Pennacchio regarding the remarkable longevity of GH, Francis disclosed, “Well, I don’t think anybody can believe that it’s been on this long. It’s quite an accomplishment, isn’t it? And it’s gone through different generations of people, Genie continued, “I’m very happy with how the character has grown and changed. In the beginning, of course, she was very, very vulnerable and now I focus much more on her strength.”

Frank Valentini have reporter, George Pennacchio some inside details regarding the 15,000th episode. He hinted, “It’ll be happy, sad, dark, scary, fun, thrilling and exciting, but most importantly it has almost every single cast member in it,” revealed Valentini.

The cast of GH has celebrated many milestones over the year, having Benard and Francis around for most; more than others. When asked about all those calories taken in from celebratory cake consumption, Maurice answered, laughing, “The truth of the matter is I don’t even touch the cake cause I’m real disciplined.”

General Hospital News And Spoilers: Emme Rylan Back On Set, “It Feels So Good”

Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) has recently returned home to Port Charles after finally being tired of hiding out. She was sick of her brother, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), dictating her life, so she and their other brother, Martin Gray, headed home.

Since they’ve been back, drama has been around every corner. For Laura, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) was the bearer of bad news when she informed Laura that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) had died. Things haven’t been going favorably for Laura, and she’s been missing her daughter, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) a lot lately. She mentioned Lulu recently, reflecting on her daughter’s fragile state.

General Hospital spoilers reveal there will be much more to the story involving Lulu’s current condition, and everything surrounding the traumatic event.
