When it comes to taking the risk, and “going there” regarding bold, realistic, raw, and controversial story lines, Laura feels the risk isn’t a threat [because], “those are stories that should be told. So, I don’t find it risky. I find it current and true to humanity. We’re just telling people’s stories. GH news reports reveal Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, along with General Hospital’s two longest running contract actors, Maurice Benard and Genie Francis, shared some inside scoop with ABC7 Entertainment Reporter, George Pennacchio, surrounding the special June 20th episode.

When speaking with Pennacchio regarding the remarkable longevity of GH, Francis disclosed, “Well, I don’t think anybody can believe that it’s been on this long. It’s quite an accomplishment, isn’t it? And it’s gone through different generations of people, Genie continued, “I’m very happy with how the character has grown and changed. In the beginning, of course, she was very, very vulnerable and now I focus much more on her strength.”
Frank Valentini have reporter, George Pennacchio some inside details regarding the 15,000th episode. He hinted, “It’ll be happy, sad, dark, scary, fun, thrilling and exciting, but most importantly it has almost every single cast member in it,” revealed Valentini.

When asked about all those calories taken in from celebratory cake consumption, Maurice answered, laughing, “The truth of the matter is I don’t even touch the cake cause I’m real disciplined.”
