Ron Carlivati Explains Why Lucy Didn’t Say Goodbye to Rafe

If you know Port Charles and General Hospital history regarding the relationship between Lucy Coe and Rafe Kovich, you were probably wondering why Lucy wasn’t there by his side at the time of his passing. Fans were outraged at the fact that the only person who knew Rafe as a child (other than his uncle Dr. Silas Clay), was not there for him when he needed comfort from family the most.

Although Lucy wasn’t there at the time of Rafe’s death, it was shown that Lucy had found out the tragic news after the fact. Lucy stumbled into The Floating Rib and she was crying. She was able to express her feelings to her good friend, Felicia.

General Hospital’s Head Writer, Ron Carlivati, explains why Lucy wasn’t present in the hospital when Rafe died. “There was so much story going on at the hospital with Molly and Rafe, with Alice.” he said. “It was one more character to add into that mix and the days just became too big and too complicated. So, we decided to give Lucy her own separate moment after the fact (to mourn Rafe).”

Let us know what you think. Do you agree or disagree with Carlivati’s decision?

Kristen Alderson as GH’s Serena Baldwin

The latest rumor that has hit the GH grapevine involves Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr Manning OLTL and GH). Recently the actress was forced to leave General Hospital due to legal issues with Prospect Park and the rights to her character’s name, Starr Manning. Since the production and upcoming re-launch of One Life to Live, Prospect Park is not allowing General Hospital to use the Starr Manning character name.

ABC and General Hospital have decided they want Kristen Alderson to remain part of GH but are not allowed to keep her in the same role. Thus resulting in having to give the actress a new identity in the fictional town of Port Charles. Rumors suggest that Alderson will now be playing the role of Serena Baldwin, Scotty’s daughter. Serena was born to Scotty and his late wife Dominique in 1993. Lucy Coe was the surrogate during this time, as Dominique was dying from a brain tumor. This news is still in the rumor phase and has not been confirmed.

How do you feel about the character switch up? Comment and let us know!

Who is Staying in Port Charles? Who Will be Leaving?

General Hosptal’s 50th anniversary brought back many familiar faces. Some we expected to see and others came as a complete shock. Have you been wondering which of these characters will be sticking around and for how long? We have some answers for you. In an interview with TV Guide, Ron Carlivati gives fans the inside scoop on the actors/characters comings and going.

Luke, Laura, and Scotty’s love triangle still has room to grow. Even after Luke and Laura get back from their adventure of saving their daughter, Lulu, these three characters will be sticking around so that Luke, Laura, and Scotty can work things out.

Carlivati states that Lucy Coe and her portrayer Lynn Herring will be sticking around Port Charles for a long while. He even says, “I think Lucy is already planning next year’s Nurses Ball!”

Felicia (Kristina Wagner) had to choose between the two great loves of her life, Frisco (Jack Wagner) and Mac John York). She chose Mac and now Frisco is bitter and angry. Maxie is having a baby in a few months so this does leave an opening for a possible visit from Frisco in the near future.

Ingo Rademacher (Jax) scored a spot on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars so GH had less time to work with him. The whole story with Brenda, Michael and Carly was a quick decision after Ingo was set to be on DWTS.

Regarding Nurse Bobbi (Jackie Zeman), Carlivati tells TV Guide that she will be leaving Port Charles. But he says she will definitely be returning to Port Charles for other important events.

There as been a lot of back and forth regarding whether or not John Stamos will be reprising his role as Blackie Parrish. Carlivati explains threat there was a lot of confusion and miscommunication when it comes to Stamos. He also mentions that there is still a possibility for his return in the future.

Those at GH plan to celebrate it’s 50th anniversary all year long. This leaves a lot of time for more intense, classic GH stories involving vet characters.

Is Caleb Morley Really Dead?

Today John McBain faced off with General Hospital’s newest villain, Caleb Morley for the sake of saving Sam. Caleb had Sam held at Wyndemere, convinced she was his wife Livvie and was determined to make her his bride. John, with the help of Lucy, was able to kill Caleb and save Sam from his captivity. Relieved, John and Sam left the scene and asked Lucy to follow. Lucy decided to stay behind and deal with the flood of emotions she was experiencing from all of this. Lucy swore up and down that Caleb was a Vampire, but John disproved her theory when he pulled out fake fangs from Caleb’s dead body. He explained to Lucy that Caleb Morley, whose actual name is Stephen Clay, was a mental patient. It was said that he had cone insane after the loss of his wife Livvie, who looked exactly like Sam. Lynn Herring was amazing with her performance. She was distraught and beside herself. She could not believe that she had fallen for this. That who she though was Caleb, King of Vampires, was actually a human. Lucy even tried to remove his ring that was thought to give him his immortal powers. She was unable to remove his ring, and left crying. Stephen Clay is dead, so it seems. No pulse, fake fangs, but that ring. There is somehting about that ring. The fact that it wouldn’t come off when Lucy was pulling it from his dead hands, and the fact that they focused in on it at the end leads me to believe there is more to this story. So the question arises, Is Caleb Morley really dead?

Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) Returns to GH

Kin Shirner’s return to GH as Scotty Baldwin is yet another big treat for the 50th anniversary of General Hospital, April 1st, 2013. We are so excited for his return this February 19th. We are excited to see how his love triangle from many, many years ago with Laura and Luke will come in to play this time around. In a TV Guide Magazine interview with Shriner, it is revealed that we will first see Scotty appear at the Haunted Star where many of the residents of Port Charles will be for a Valentine’s Day party. The scoop is that Scotty and Luke encounter one another and things escalate pretty quickly.

Shriner also talks about the possibility of John Stamos returning to the canvas as well. He said in the interview, “I’m sure Stamos will come back because he knows GH started his career.” This to me sounds pretty promising for the return of Blackie Parrish.

On a more personal level, Kin Shriner spoke very highly of his life experiences from being part of GH. He mentions how many great friends he has made throughout the years including Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) and buddy Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe). It seems that he is very happy with the fact that Genie, Lynn, and himself were asked to rejoin General Hospital at this time. When asked about his time at General Hospital, he responding with the following,  “Lynn Herring and I have had a thousand phone calls, we talk at least once a week- where we’re, like, “Wouldn’t it be great if our characters came back to Port Charles and did such-and-such.” And now it’s actually happening! (Laughs) We no longer have to imagine it with tweety birds over our heads!”

-Remember he prefers Scotty over Scott! 😉

With all this great news, I have a feeling that this will be one special year for General Hospital!

General Hospital Spoilers: Vampires in Port Charles

Port Charles Vampires Kelly Monaco and Michael Easton Livvie Locke Caleb Morley Port Charles Vampires
Vampires in Port Charles Livvie and Caleb

Vampires? Honestly, as wild as it sounds for a daytime television Soap Opera, Vampires aren’t the strangest thing to happen on a daytime drama. From General Hospital’s weather machine to Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) of Days Of Our Lives having been possessed by the devil, vampires became just another “only on Soaps” storyline.

ABC’s spin off of General Hospital, then you are probably very confused right now. Port Charles had ties to General Hospital with people like Karen Wexler, Lucy Coe, Kevin Collins, Scotty Baldwin, and some faces that surfaced on Port Charles who were known as Livvie Locke and Caleb Morley. Today we know them as Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and John McBain (Michael Easton).

Moreover, GH news reports confirm that Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is back in Port Charles. After years of being off the canvas, Lucy returns to find herself questioning her own memory. Ironically, Lucy remembers John McBain (Michael Easton) as a vampire named Caleb Morley, and Sam Morgan as Livvie Locke. When John McBain arrived in Port Charles he and Sam felt an unexplained connection. According to General Hospital spoilers, Sam and John may have found the they feel so connected. Could they have known each other in a past life?

Lynn Herring Returns to GH as Lucy Coe!

On December 14th, 2012, Lynn Herring will be coming back to General Hospital. She isn’t the only blast from the past we will be seeing. The very awesome, very missed, and very essential, NURSES BALL will be returning to General Hospital.
