The 52nd anniversary of General Hospital is right around the corner. Next week on Wednesday, April 1st, marks 52 years for the longest running daytime drama. General Hospital is on top of the world and has made an enormous comeback after the fallout of two ABC daytime favorites, All My Children and One Life to Live.
This year on general Hospital, the main focus of news and story line has revolved much around Anthony Geary and his health issues, along with the dark and mysterious role Geary has been playing… what fans like to call “Fluke.” General Hospital spoilers reveal that the Fluke story line is headed for a close, and fans will finally see this long awaited outcome. It was recently revealed that Luke Spencer has DID, and that he is unaware of the things he has been doing which includes terrorizing his loved ones and family. GH rumors say that this year, on the 52nd anniversary of General Hospital, the episode will lead this story to it’s end. Fans will finally have the closure they have been waiting for. It is said that Luke will finally realize that he is responsible for the heinous acts that he has committed over the course of a year and a half.
Along with this news regarding the Fluke story line, comes news that fans have been dreading. General Hospital rumors are heavily focused on that bringing Fluke’s story to a close might mean for Anthony Geary. Geary has been a part of General Hospital for 30 years, his character’s (Luke) unforgettable love story with Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) is one of the most iconic moments in television history. Geary has taken home 7 Best Actor in a Daytime Drama awards, and is up for another this coming April at the Daytime Emmy Award ceremony.
GH News has not confirmed this announcement but it looks as though this is the direction things are going. The Fluke story has been one of the most talked about of all stories Geary has been involved in on GH. Soon GH spoilers will reveal the deep dark secrets of the Spencer family’s past, which could lead to a huge shock involving Luke. Is this the way Geary will leave General Hospital?
Let us know how you feel about Anthony Geary’s possible retirement? If the actor leaves the show, is the sotry doing this character justice? How would you like to see Anthony Geary leave General Hospital?
General Hospital Blog will keep you updated on the latest GH news regarding Anthony Geary’s retirement announcement. Keep checking back for the most up to date information.
Luke is on the hunt for Jerry Jacks with the help of Laura and Holly. Dr. Obrecht may have pulled the wool over Holly’s eyes, but Laura knows that Jerry is very much alive. Luke needs a cure and they will stop at nothing to get their hands on it. Laura is onto Jerry. She knows he was hiding someone in that room and they are piecing together that Dr. Obrecht is in on it.
Luke and Laura have been called away from their quest to be there for what they think will be the birth of their grandchild. As Maxie went into labor today, Lulu called her Mother to let her know she would appreciate her support by being there. Luke and Laura made the decision to put Jerry on hold.
Holly is off on her own as of right now, looking for Dr. Obrecht and trying to save Robert Scorpio. Through her mission to save Robert, will she come across another one of Obretcht’s captives?
Anna is getting closer and closer to putting the pieces of the puzzle together. As she questions Britt, she cannot help but express that there is much more than weird coincidences going on here. Anna knows Dr. Obrecht, Cesar Faison, and even Britt have everything to do with what is happening to her family. Just wait until she finds out Faison is Britt’s Father!
Olivia had a vision that Dante told her he was too late, and he couldn’t save Lulu. Olivia’s visions aren’t always a direct indication of what will happen in the future, however there have been times when Olivia sees something that happens almost exactly as she saw it. On Friday, Luke, Laura, and Dante came to Lulu’s rescue. But was it too late? She wasn’t breathing. Will they be able to bring Lulu back from the dead before Stavros gets to them?
This week’s SHOCKING return, the return of the evil Helena Cassadine’s presumed dead son, Stavros. Stavros, Nikolas Cassadine’s Father, was “killed” by Luke Spencer back in 2001. For 10 years, the residents of Port Charles breathed a bit easier knowing that the lethal man was gone from the Earth only leaving his Mother Helena to reek havoc on the Spencer family. But ten years later, Luke and Laura received the shock of their lives.
Since the return of Stavros this week, we have learned that Helena was keeping him alive all these years. Helena, Grandmother of Nikolas was keeping Stavros a secret in order to nurse him back to health and become stronger than ever. She succeeded and when he became well, he was fixated on a woman he saw in Istanbul. He had believed that woman to be his former love/infatuation Laura, but in actuality it was Lulu. he wants her all to himself and will stop at nothing to get her. He is the one who sent her the Ice Princess. When Nikolas found out about this, he had every intention of coming back to Port Charles to warn Lulu about this. Nikolas was too late, Lulu was already missing, and Stavros had Nikolas shot.
Dante saw Lulu through a window of a door in the Cassadine chamber lying there. Will Dante be able to get to her before it’s too late?
A TV Guide Magazine post spills details of the big events. General Hospital’s Nurses Ball and the 50th anniversary are events that you will not want to miss. The wheels have been in motion for months and we have seen favorite characters return and old flames rekindle.
From Mac, Felicia, and Frisco, to Anna and Duke, and Luke and Laura, the last few months have been a blast from the General Hospital past. There is more of that to come as Rick Springfield returns as Dr, Noah Drake. He will be performing his hit song, “Jessie’s Girl” at the Nurses Ball. Kelly Monaco will be showing her amazing dance talents acquired from starring on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. She will be accompanied by dance professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy, brother of Kelly’s dance partner, Val Chmervokskiy. Val is currently busy working on the latest season of DWTS with his new partner, Zendaya Coleman. Meanwhile, Patrick (Jason Thompson) just might fall for Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) when he sees her true beauty emerge at the Nurses Ball. Will the return of Robin complicate things and create a new love triangle? Ron Carlivati states, “This would in so many ways be the ideal time for Robin to walk through the door, “it would be a total game-changer but, while I’m promising a whole lot of surprises at the Nurses Ball, I’m not promising what they’ll be.” With this cryptic message from Ron, it only gets fan’s heads spinning with excitement even faster. The return of Robin would be about the biggest thing to happen to GH’s 50th and the Nurses Ball. After all, the ball is to honor AIDS patients and Dr. Scorpio herself.
What would be a Nurses Ball without the lovely Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) hosting the event? Lynn mentions that she, Finola Hughes (Anna DeVane), and Kristina Wagner (Felicia Jones), have picked up right where they left off some 25-30 years ago.
Since the return of Laura Spencer (Genie Francis), Luke and Laura have been yet another iconic blast from the past. Although we have been fortunate to keep Luke throughout the years, having both parties to the super couple make for some exciting and adventurous stories. During the Nurses Ball celebration, Luke and Laura will be off trying to find their daughter Lulu after she is kidnapped. Luke and Laura will run into the ever-so-evil Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) in their quest to save their daughter. Anthony Geary expresses his feelings about these nostalgic story lines GH is pulling out and bringing to light once again. He says, “These episodes are pure nostalgia — the kind of high-stakes, high-energy, really well-conceived plotting that’s reminiscent of the Luke and Laura glory days.”
It’s quite obvious that not only the fans, but the actors, cast, and crew are just as excited about this 50th celebration. Putting their whole heart and soul into this with a lot of extremely hard work and dedication.
Here is an amazing quote of dedication and inspiration from long time GH fan himself, Ron Carlivati, “We couldn’t celebrate the 50th without another epic Luke and Laura adventure. They’re no longer a couple, and they may never again be a couple, but their love for each other — like GH itself — is still going strong.” Priceless!
Lulu received a mysterious gift. When she opened it, she and Dante thought it was strange and brushed it off as a joke. When Dante and Lulu ran into her parents, Luke and Laura, Lulu showed them the “black rock,.” or as Lulu referred to it as a “burnt cake pop.” Both had shocked looks on their faces and asked Lulu where she got that from. Dante and Lulu admitted that they didn’t know where it came from. Is this the new beginning of Helena’s reign of terror? The Cassadines were responsible for this little rock way back long ago when it almost froze the world. Will history repeat itself or will things be even worse this time around? With the Ice Princess resurfacing, this could also mean that more Cassadines will be resurfacing as well. Helena’s true motive will eventually be revealed.
General Hospital’s Head Writer Ron Carlivati tweeted this morning, encouraging fans to watch General Hospital today. There will be more surprises leading up to General Hospital’s 50th anniversary. GH50!
The rumor around Twitter is that Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) has signed a contract with General Hospital. If this is true, it looks like there will be a lot more potential for her story. Right now, we know she is here to be with her daughter, as they wait for the birth of (what they think is) Dante and Lulu’s child that Maxie is carrying. She seems very interested in Luke’s life and was on the phone with a mystery person telling them they will go ahead with their plans. Who is Laura talking to? What are her plans? If Laura is staying in Port Charles longer than just to appease us for the 50th anniversary of GH, there is potential for her to have lasting relationships with current PC residents. Luke included. Since Anna and Luke called it quits, Luke may be open to getting closer to Laura once again. As of right now, we don’t know what Laura wants. It seemed like she was really concerned with Luke’s love life, and looked almost jealous when she saw him with Anna. But who knows. Maybe she was just checking to make sure he was happy with another woman before she proceeds to be happy with someone else. Whatever happens, I am happy to see Laura back in Port Charles, reuniting with all her loved ones!
