It was a night to remember! In the past I’d spend Daytime Emmy night glued to the TV in June. Due to the recent writer’s strike, things got a bit off schedule and the Daytime Emmy Awards were held six month later. Hey, so long as they give credit where credit is due, right?
It was an exciting evening as the cast and crew of General Hospital took home the most wins. Sadly, not all of our faves took home the Emmy, but GH cleaned up pretty nicely. Maurice Benard aka Sonny Corinthos lost out to Thorsten Kaye of The Bold and the Beautiful, and Jacqueline MacIness Wood beat out Finola Hughes in the Lead Acting categories. GH’s Chavez didn’t win. Hat he has last year’s award under his belt.
General Hospital’s Daytime Emmy Wins 2023
And while a few took a loss, General Hospital still took over the night with the most wins. Eden McCoy won Outstanding Younger Performer as Josslyn Jacks, Robert Gossett took home the Outstanding Supporting Actor win, while the late Sonya Eddy won as Epiphany Johnson. Moreover, Alley Mills took the win for Outstanding Guest Performance! Furthermore, GH’s directing team scored the big win as well!
Additionally, the entire cast and crew won the most important award of the night! General Hospital news reports confirm that the 60 year old ABC Soap Opera took home its 15th win for Outstanding Drama Series!
It’s undeniable that Selina Wu (Lydia Look) is one intimidating woman. Can you forget the way she slapped Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) across the face? No. Me neither. It’s difficult to say who was more stunned. Cody, his portrayer, Josh, or the fans! Selina and Cody’s business conversation upon a turn when she suddenly hauled off and slapped him!
The Port Charles night life became a little more interesting when Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) illegal poker room took up residence at The Savoy. GH recaps recall that Curtis and Selina made a deal. Against his better judgement, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) allowed Selina to run her illegal poker game room in the back of his nightclub.
Selina Isn’t Happy
Meanwhile, N’neka (Arlondriah Lenyéa) does all she can to keep things running smoothly for bother Curtis and Selina. Selina loves to throw her weight around the club as if she’s the owner. Recently, GH recaps recall that Ms. Wu proposed to purchase The Savoy from Curtis. So I guess one could argue that Selina is no longer satisfied by simply “acting like she owns the place.” Now she wants to actually own the place. Apparently, she isn’t about to listen to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and give up the poker room. She came to him because she thought he’d have her back. And when he didn’t, he struck a cord within her and now Sonny has a new enemy.
According to the latest GH spoilers, Curtis’s lead bartender learns the hard way. Selina doesn’t let people cross her and get away with it. That said, General Hospital spoilers indicate that N’neka needs to watch her back. She called Portia to tell her about Selina and Marshall’s strange encounter. What happens to N’neka next if Selina finds out what she’s done? It’s hard to tell, but what we do know is that Selina isn’t happy with N’neka.
N’neka’s loyalties lie with Curtis, however, Selina may not give N’neka a choice but to carry out her orders. Will N’neka agree to plot against Curtis?
Let’s be real here. Not many of us really like to hear the word no as an answer. Some people can’t handle any type of rejection, even if it’s not personal. Oftentimes hearing the word no is taken to heart whether it was meant to be personal or not.
Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned
Curtis Ashford had just woken up from a nightmare, except the nightmare didn’t end when he opened his eyes. In fact, that’s when it truly began. Unfortunately, Curtis was shot at the Metro Court. What makes it even worse is that authorities believe the bullet was meant for someone else. Evidently, Curtis wasn’t the intended target. That’s when the PCPD figured that the bullet was meant for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) or Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
After the incident, Selina didn’t waste any time. Curtis didn’t have a moment to collect his thoughts after learning that he’s paralyzed before Selina Wu threw salt in the wound. Immediately, she approached Curtis about The Savoy, and now his professional life is as messed up as most other aspects in his life. Even his marriage to Portia was hanging by a thread.
According to General Hospital spoilers, Selina Wu won’t take no for an answer. Selina doesn’t let Marshall stop her no matter what he says. General Hospital recaps recall that Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) stepped in for Curtis (Donnell Turner) while he takes time to adjust to his new life. For the time being, Marshall is in charge of The Savoy. But just because Marshall spoke on behalf of The Savoy, that doesn’t mean Selina likes it, or that she will even oblige. Selina isn’t about to end her poker game.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Selina Wu goes to war with a new enemy. Marshall isn’t the only one who told Selina she couldn’t do what she wants to do. She went to Sonny, thinking he’d have her back. But when he didn’t, her vibe suddenly changed. Now her mere presence could freeze Arendelle if Elsa ever needed help.
It looks like Selina has reason to use her power around Port Charles. Who will pay the price?
Sonny unleashes the Mobster within Selina! …For the most part, Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) have a common understanding and mutual respect for one another. That being said, neither party intend to make the other an enemy. Unfortunately, sometimes that a just happen.
General Hospital recaps recall Sonny and Selina’s latest conversation about The Savoy, specifically her back door poker room. Evidently, Selina figured that she could simply walk into Sonny’s office and present him with her personal dilemma. Furthermore, she expected him to agree and comply, but when he didn’t, the dismay was written all over her face.
Previous GH spoilers suggested that Selina is now a woman scorned. Sonny is someone who she thought considered her an ally. If that were true, then why is Sonny Corinthos protecting someone else? Selina second guesses where she ranks with Sonny. Now, she has some important decisions to make. If Sonny wants to protect Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Marshall during their family’s struggle, he may risk putting his own family in peril.
According to earlier GH news and spoilers, Ms. Wu’s portrayer gave insight on Selina and Sonny’s relationship. She revealed her true feelings on how she sees Selina and Sonny’s relationship. The actress recently attended a Coastal Entertainment fan event in which she addressed fan’s questions. “I don’t want that, and personally, I feel like for the storyline, it wouldn’t be good for us to have a fight.”
Marshall Oversees Curtis’s Affairs! …Curtis Ashford’s father, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), spent most of his life as a father hiding from his family. He felt that who he was wasn’t what a father should be. So, he got out of dodge.
General Hospital recaps recall Marshall’s battle as a young father. Lead to beeline he had schizophrenia, Marshall made a live altering decision. Regrettably, Marshall faked his death and made his family believe he was a goner. Thus leaving Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and the rest of their family without him.
Fast forward and Marshall and his son have begun to build back their relationship. Now, Curtis is in crisis and Marshall wants to step up. GH spoilers and rumors tease that Marshall oversees Curtis’s affairs. But does that mean Curtis has to come clean about his dealings with Selina Wu (Lydia Look)?
GH’s Ashford family tragedy! Marshall to Curtis: “Am I going to see you at home tonight?” Curtis: “Maybe.” …The Ashford’s suffer after Metro Court shooting. In a shocking twist, this won’t be just a close call. Sadly, someone isn’t coming home tonight.
Tragedy strikes the good people of Port Charles yet again when shots are fired at the Metro Court. Shockingly, one family gets hit with a life changing catastrophe.
General Hospital spoilers reveal the Metro Court shooting has a serious impact on Port Charles. Particularly, one prominent family. According to GH news, Executive Producer, Frank Valentini shared some unsettling news with Soap Opera Digest. In a recent interview Frank’s cryptic, yet revealing spoiler involves the latest mob situation in Port Charles. “Not only is someone shot, but after the shooting, a whole family’s lives will be completely changed and thrown off track.” Valentini promised. So, there’s no doubt that the Metro Court shooting is mob-related, and families are torn apart after what goes down. Thankfully, Dante was already at the scene. But is that enough to avoid fatalities?
GH’s Ashford family tragedy rocks Port Charles!
Meanwhile, it looks like Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is finally ready to take the necessary steps to get his and Portia’s life on track. After his talk with TJ (Tajh Bellow), Curtis was ready to take his own advice and get on with the necessary steps to progress. That being said, GH rumors hint that the Ashford’s fall victim to mob violence. According to recent GH spoilers, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is comforted in upcoming episodes. While GH rumors tease that either Portia, Curtis, or Marshall meet an untimely death, General Hospital news reports haven’t confirmed any upcoming GH exits. However, Valentini confirmed one family’s devastation.
Do you want to know what Marshall Ashford is really hiding? Because it seems to us that he’s hiding behind his schizophrenia explanation.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) grows suspicious after she presses him about playing at her wedding to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Portia can’t understand why Marshall won’t play at their wedding. Based on his excuses, she realizes things don’t add up. She mentioned that he has never once had a schizophrenic episode. That being said, his anxiety over playing at their wedding, and a potential trigger doesn’t really fit.
General Hospital previews indicate that Marshall lashes out at Portia when she’s grilling him about his decision. She still doesn’t understand why he won’t get a second opinion on his diagnosis. General Hospital rumors cheese at Marshall’s schizophrenia was just a front for his real secret. He refuses to get further testing. Therefore, it leads Portia to believe he still hiding something.
But what is Marshall Ashford really hiding? According to recent GH rumors, it’s possible that he’s aware of Portia’s own secret and can’t bring himself to play at their wedding. Another GH rumor suggests Marshall isn’t really Curtis’s father. Whichever the real reason, it’s becoming more obvious that Marshall doesn’t have schizophrenia at all.
Sneak Peek inside Curtis and Portia’s wedding! February is just around the corner, and Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) plan to spend the rest of their lives together, and even grow their family.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Curtis and Portia plan to wed this coming Valentine’s Day. However, many are skeptical that the event will go off without a hitch. But what we do know is, Curtis and Portia most definitely reach their wedding day with full intentions on tying the knot. Portia is holding a secret that will be detrimental to her future with Curtis. This is a secret she has carried with her since becoming pregnant with her daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). After cheating on Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) with Curtis Ashford, she ignored the possibility that Curtis could very well be Trina’s father as a way to save her marriage.
General Hospital rumors and spoilers tease that Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) wants the truth to come out. Portia is about to marry Jordan’s ex husband. Ironically, the end of Curtis and Jordan’s marriage is due to lies and deception. The finger was pointed at Jordan for keeping secrets about her confidential work. Now Curtis is about to marry a woman who is lying about so much more. General Hospital rumors indicate that Taggart himself will stop Jordan from leaking Portia’s secret.
GH Star Shares Inside Look In A Now Deleted Post
General Hospital news reports reveal Réal Andrews shared a sneak peek of Curtis and Portia’s wedding in an Instagram post. The post includes Curtis, front and center in his groom tux. Surrounding Curtis is TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), Taggert himself, of course, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), among others.
The cast and crew of GH film episodes anywhere between four and six weeks ahead of time. Coincidentally, the timing falls right into Curtis and Portia’s set wedding date. It’s likely the GH star removed the post from his Instagram feed for reasons having to do with unintentional GH spoilers.
As we all have come to learn, anything shared to the Internet is never really gone, even when deleted. Take a look inside the sneak peek photo of Curtis and his groomsmen on his wedding day to Portia.
A manhunt for Esme Prince leads to Nikolas. Apparently Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) remains the prime suspect in the investigation to find the Port Charles hook killer.
General Hospital recaps: Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) is convinced that if he lures Esme out of hiding, the PCPD can arrest her and the hook killings will stop. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) thought his plan to be too dangerous. But with some convincing and strategizing, she and Spencer came to an agreement. Trina wanted to be part of the plan.
Previously, General Hospital spoilers revealed Esme is not the hook at all. The PCPD and those skeptical of the college student from Hell are barking up the wrong tree. However, General Hospital previews indicate a manhunt for Esme Prince leads to Nikolas. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), his father Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), Trina Robinson, Mayor Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Franco’s), Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco), and Spencer Cassadine are among those helping to catch and stop this serial killer.
GH rumors speculate the manhunt for Esme will ultimately lead straight to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). He can’t possibly hide her forever up in an Wyndemere tower. Due to recent GH news regarding Marcus Coloma’s General Hospital exit, odds are Nikolas’s days of holding Esme prisoner are about to be over- and so is Nikolas! Once he’a caught, every single person he loves will inevitably turn against him for good. After all that’s said and done, will Esme be the one that does him in?
Will Nikolas be hauled off to prison, killed, or run and hide?
Although Curtis Ashford learns the truth, he still remains in the dark about a life changing secret. Curtis (Donnell Turner) holds honesty at the top of his priority list and expects the same from the ones he loves.
After being lied to by his ex-wife Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Curtis’ marriage to Jordan ended. He found out his father had lied his entire life, and the relationship with Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) almost never began. As a result of Marshall’s life long deceptions, Curtis now faces a hard truth. Marshall’s schizophrenia is the reason he faked his death and steered clear of his family for all these years. Now he’s back and wants to make up for lost time. His return also brings concerns for Curtis and his [future] children.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Curtis awaits news of his recent genetic testing. Recent General Hospital previews give a sneak peek into what’s ahead for the Ashford family. Curtis learns the truth while Jordan remains vigilant. She walks up and keeps a comfortable distance – enough to be discreetly observant.
General Hospital recaps recall Jordan found about about Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) secret back when they almost perished while locked in that basement. She already knows Portia Robinson is worried about Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) potential risk for inheriting Schizophrenia. If Curtis is Trina’s father, she too is at risk.
Will Curtis learn not one but two truth bombs?!
