Daytime TV is known for it’s iconic characters and their extreme popularity throughout pop culture. Leading men and woman of Daytime leave a lasting memory and legacy as they become staples in our daily lives.

General Hospital‘s leading man, Maurice Benard joined the cast in 1993, making his role as Mob Boss, Sonny Corinthos the focal point around Port Charles. For just shy of years, Maurice’s role as Sonny Corinthos has been made a household name, resounding familiarity for all daytime tv fans. Many fans can’t imagine what General Hospital would be like without it’s leading man.

General Hospital news reports previously reported on Benard’s recent discussion about his future in daytime. General Hospital Blog shared GH news related to Benard’s admission of an imminent future retirement.

Recently, General Hospital spoilers reveal Benard has taken to social media to share a post involving details around the Daytime Emmy winner’s latest auditions. Maurice’s Instagram post shares a video featuring his granddaughter TT, as she gives her grandpa direction.

The proud grandpa captioned the video as follows,

“My granddaughter TT is a future Steven Spielberg. She helps me work auditions, The voice on the tape is my wife Paula incredible actress ????

TT loves to eat crazy for Cocoa Puffs while she gives me direction!!!

Oh by the way I didn’t get the part????”

Maurice shares he didn’t get the part for which he auditioned. The part Benard was seeking remains unknown at this time. We hope to say he is safe at General Hospital as Sonny Corinthos for the time being!

General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Gets Knocked Off Her High Horse As Carly Rises Up

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has been living large as of late after manipulating a situation which changed the lives of many others.

General Hospital recaps recall Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) recent struggles as a result of Nina’s lies and deceptions. So far Nina has gotten away with keeping Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) from his entire family as they presumed him to be dead, as well as make her way into his heart; taking up enough space for him to have true feelings for both his wife Carly, and Nina herself.

Now only has Nina stolen Carly’s man and torn her family apart, she is the reason Sonny is now an enemy to his son Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). All while playing the victim, and acting as though she was only trying to help, Nina sealed her own fate when she bought Carly’s half of the Metro Court.

General Hospital News And Spoilers: Maurice Benard Admits His Time As An Actor Is Closing In

General Hospital star and all around daytime tv icon, Maurice Benard has made a household name for himself since he began his career in 1987.

General Hospital wasn’t always his home away from home. He started out as Nico on ABC’s All My Children.

General Hospital news and spoilers reveal Benard has recently addressed a sensitive topic with fans in his LIVE stream of the YouTube series, State of Mind. In the live video, Benard disclosed some of his internet thoughts on acting and retirement. Benard explained, Acting isn’t what it was when I was young,” Maurice started. “Sometimes it’s difficult and it hits me in places to act that I don’t like. But right now, I’m really happy on GH.”

Maurice Benard brought up a topic his fans have been dreading. The idea of Maurice Benard retiring and leaving the legendary role of Sonny Corinthos behind, leaves fans unsettled and sad. Regarding the topic of an upcoming GH exit, Benard stated the following, “If I ever left [GH], I would want to bring this State of Mind a place where I could make a good enough living to just do this,” he expressed. “I think there’s less pressure here for me, and I can still work with mental health.”

General Hospital rumors began with claims of the iconic actor quitting acting altogether, right here and now. Although that isn’t the case, fans of Benard aren’t too happy about what they’ve heard straight from Maurice himself. As if those words weren’t discounting enough for hopeful fans, Benard laid down a devastating truth about his future as an actor. “But acting… I don’t know when, but soon enough I’ll be done with it,” he admitted. “Sorry. I hate to say that, but it’s the truth.” Those words have had an impact on the hearts of his fans. It’s so I operant for Maurice to be able to take care of himself. Although fans are bummed they could be losing GH’s lead actor, it’s understandable that he’d want to focus on mental health awareness with his YouTube series, State of Mind.

We sure hope Maurice decided to take his time when it comes to retiring, and we wish him all the best in whichever path he happens to choose.

General Hospital Spoilers: Detective Chase Delivers News To Carly About Sonny

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is beside herself in devastation after Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) let her in on what happened to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Carly and Jason went out to look for Sonny without no prevail. Carly has kept it in for the sake of her children but broke down when Jax (Ingo Rademacher) found her hyperventilating and crying.

General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly is a wreck after receiving a phone call from their guards, letting her know that the PCPD is at the Corinthos home.

General Hospital previews show Detective Chase (Josh Swickard) approaching Carly, telling her he has news about her husband.

Some residents of Port Charles have already been devastated after learning about the death of Julian Jerome (William deVry). Julian and Sonny both had connections with Olivia Falconeri Ashton (Lisa LoCicero) and Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco). Those two women have already endured tragic news, and since they’re not also close to Sonny, they are about to face more tragic news.

What has happened to the head of the Corinthos family? Their leader, their rock, and Carly’s partner in life is missing without any knowledge of whether is is dead or alive.

General Hospital rumors claim Chase is at Carly’s door to let her know Sonny was with Julian at the time of Julian’s death and that Sonny still remains missing. She is still holding out hope that her husband is out there somewhere and alive, but the reality is that even if he’s alive, Sonny could have suffered a head injury and possible amnesia.

Maurice Benard Has NOT Re-signed Contract with GH

Maurice Benard joined the cast of General Hospital in August of 1993 as Michael Sonny Corinthos. He has been a fan favorite and front and center for over tow- almost three decades. Some would say that General Hospital would not be what it is today without the character of Sonny Corinthos and the amazingly talented actor, Maurice Benard, who portrays him. There is some recent General Hospital news that has fans worried about the future of their favorite character, Sonny Corinthos. For a few months now General Hospital rumors have been indicating that Maurice Benard will be taking 6 months off of General Hospital as Port Charles’ most popular mob boss, Sonny Corinthos.

In the newest edition of ABC Soaps in Depth Magazine, the September 29th issue, it has been revealed that Maurice Benard’s contract is due to be up very soon and the actor has not yet re-signed. Benard is considering leaving GH to work on other projects. The actor told Soaps in Depth, “I take the contract day to day. I’m 100% happy at GH, I love Ron and Frank, but I want to do other things.”

It would be a sad time for General Hospital is Maurice Benard left the show. He has been an iconic character for so long that it is uncertain how the rest of the show that has been built around the mob would hold up in this situation.

Recent General Hospital rumors speculate that Sonny will go to jail for the murder of AJ Quartermaine, and that we will not see Sonny for about six months.

General Hospital Explosive! Who is Going to Die?

There is a shoot out and someone gets hit! But who is going to die? GH magazines and internet posts a like warn fans that a beloved character will take the fall. But who will it be? Sonny? Luke? Ric? Julian?

One theory is that Anna finds out that Ric has been framed and the entire showdown is a set up. It’s been rumored that Ric will be the one to die. But will he actually be dead? Speculations say that Anna will help Ric to fake his death in an attempt to find out who the real mob boss is. Not everyone is left in the dark, Sonny is also in on this. Rumors have been circulating that Sonny will actually help his brother Ric who was once an enemy.

Another theory is that Luke will be the one to die, but since he isn’t really Luke at this time, (we like to call him Fluke), that the impostor will die but the real Luke Spencer is still alive at Miscavige.
