General Hospital’s Maurice Benard
Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.
The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.
Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) came into Port Charles after responding to an ad posted on the Crimson website, by Nina Reeves. Carly had asked Nina to try and reach out, in hopes of finding the person who is responsible for saving her daughter Josslyn’s life.
Shy, quiet, and almost mousy, Nelle seemed reluctant to be part of the Corinthos clan, even after finding out she is indeed the person who gave Joss a kidney. Nelle kept everyone at arms length, or so it seemed. She repeatedly make it clear that she didn’t want money from Carly and Sonny, or Jax. She didn’t even want to accept Carly’s job offer. All of this behavior just made it more obvious to the audience- that Nelle is up to no good!
General Hospital spoilers indicate that Nelle Hayes as a dark secret and her intentions are less than pure. On today’s episode of General Hospital, she revealed another side we haven’t seen before. Nelle was standing with Carly, Sonny, and Kiki, as they all speculated and worried about Morgan’s whereabouts. After Carly and Sonny left, Nelle told Kiki she saw Morgan an hour prior, at The Floating Rib. It definitely seems like Nelle has an agenda, especially after seeing her mutter under her breath, calling Kiki, “Princess,” and saying it’s harder for Morgan.
What does Nelle want with Carly and her family? How will Nelle behave once everyone knows what has happened to Morgan?
Let us know what you think! Is Nelle hiding something? Does she had an ulterior motive to get close to the Corinthos family?
It’s no coincidence that Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were talking about Milo. It seems that many times when a character is due to return, other characters who ran in their circle start name dropping, sort of in a way to prepare fans for what’s to come.
General Hospital spoilers have revealed that Derk Cheetwood is returning to General Hospital as Milo Giambetti.
The details are still up in the air but we know fans wouldn’t mind if Magic Milo was back in action for this year’s Nurses Ball!
General Hospital Blog would like to wish ABC’s General Hospital a very happy 53rd Birthday!
The cast and crew of GH have been giving fans something to look forward to every weekday afternoon for 53 years! That definitely says a lot about the talent of all involved in making this show as amazing as it is.
Many friendships have come and gone in the town of Port Charles, but we want to know who is currently you favorite!
Some have strong bonds and some are budding this Spring!
There are many past friendships that have made just as much an impact on fans as super couples. Feel free to let us know in the comments who your favorite past friendship faves have been throughout the years.

There’s a new doc in town, and he may not be as random and unrelated to Port Charles as fans originally thought.
Last week, GH spoilers developed and revealed that Anna believed she had recognized Dr. Griffin Munro, as if they have met before. When confronted with Anna’s question of memory, Griffin quickly denied any knowledge of meeting Anna in the past. Perhaps he wasn’t lying, and they really haven’t met. Still, Anna feels that she has met this man before. But, why?
On today’s General Hospital, Dr, Munro showed up at Anna’s door. To her surprise, she opened the door to find him standing there and asked what he was doing at her home. Griffin disclosed to Anna that he has been following her. And again, BUT WHY?
There has been a lot of talk about Duke Lavery lately, as Anna Devane and DA Paul Hornsby are working to reel in Carlos Rivera, in order to bring down Julian Jerome for ordering the hit on Duke.
Anna has turned to mob boss, Sonny Corinthos, who was a dear friend to Duke, for help. Sonny and Anna have a mutual understanding to keep each other informed on Carlos’ whereabouts.
GH rumors have been swirling, that Dr. Griffin may be Anna and Duke’s son.
The Corinthos family has been through hell and back, dealing with the fallout of being a mob family. Their kids have been kidnapped, shot, self destructive, and now Morgan faces a genetic similarity to his father, Sonny. Morgan’s Bi-polar Disorder has taken it’s toll on him and the entire Corinthos family.
Last week on General Hospital, Sonny and Carly had to make the difficult decision to have Mogan committed to a mental institution. Bryan Craig knocked his performance out of the park as he pleaded with his TV parents, Maurice Benard and Laura Wright to not send him away. In the heart wrenching episode, the Corinthos family was put to the test. Of course, Sonny let’s every tragedy fall on himself, and feels responsible for Morgan’s condition since it was genetically passed on. He also feels responsible that Morgan was even involved in the arms deal on Pier 54.
Sonny questioned Carly by asking her if she is going to leave and and fans are still waiting for her answer.
General Hospital’s Official Twitter account posted a GH spoiler, “Carly and Sonny reevaluate on their relationship.”
Will Carly and Sonny repeat history and call it quits? Or will this family tragedy bring them closer together and come out even stronger?
Morgan has hit rock bottom. He refuses to believe that he is sick, he won’t take advice from his own father who has lived through the struggle that is Bi-polar Disorder because he is in denial. Morgan won’t take his medication and is currently going through a manic episode. After acting out on his sexual frustration and hooking up with Darby, he wants to show Kiki and his family that he isn’t a screw up. However, Morgan goes about it the wrong way as he tries to interfere with an arms shipment taking place on Pier 54, Sonny’s territory.
General Hospital spoilers and previews reveal Morgan standing on the roof of General Hospital, contemplating the events that just took place, and flirting with the notion of ending it all.
Perhaps this is where Morgan’s mind has to go in order to realize that he truly does need help from those who love him, his doctor, and his medication.
What do you think? Will Morgan come to his senses about his recent diagnosis?
The latest General Hospital news has revealed that GH’s own Maurice Benard will appear on ABC’s Dr. Oz show this coming week.
The actor who plays Sonny Corinthos has a struggle he shares with his Port Charles mobster character personality. Maurice Benard suffers in real life, as well has his character on screen, Sonny Corinthos, with the same mental illness. Benard was diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder, and is open about what he has gone through, his treatment, growth, and life, involving this disorder. On screen, Sonny Corinthos faces the same struggles as the actor who portrays him, along with his TV son, Morgan, played by Bryan Craig.
Watch Maurice Benard discuss Bi-polar disorder with Dr. Oz this Thursday, February 25th, 2016.
Just as their relationship seems to be mending, Ava and Kiki run into another setback that will push Kiki further away from reconciling with her mother.
As if sleeping with her daughter’s boyfriend, and lying to her daughter her entire life about her father wasn’t enough grounds for Kiki to never speak to Ava again, Ava is still behaving like the selfish, spiteful woman that she is.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Carly makes a request to Ava, asking if Avery can spend the night at Sonny’s. When Ava declines, Kiki is less than impressed with her mother’s attempt at being a better person for the sake of getting closer to Kiki.
Check out today’s GH to see the cat fight between Carly, Ava, and Kiki.
Two of General Hospital’s leading men were among the TOP 10 male soap actors for 2015.
Congratulations to Maurice Benard and Jeffrey Vincent Parise for their stellar performances throughout 2015!
GH would never be the same without Sonny Corinthos, and we all know how fans felt what Carlos “died.” Thankfully, Carlos is alive and well and we just have to wait and see what more is in store.
