Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.

The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.

Back then, the idea of Valentin getting the girl (Anna) was a pipe dream while there was room in his heart to really love another woman. Nina reciprocated feelings for Valentin in a way that Anna never could. Then things went south when Nina found out that Valentin was behind setting up Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) to act as Nina’s biological daughter- the one she had been searching for for years.

General Hospital spoilers indicate that Nina’s ranking with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) family, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) specifically, will eventually take a toll on their relationship. In all honesty, Sonny was still madly in love with his wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) when he returned from Nixon Falls and even when he slept with Nina. He slept with Nina after being rejected by Carly, as he felt she had already given up. General Hospital recaps recall that even then, Sonny ran after Carly, leaving Nina behind after just sleeping together moments before.

There will always be an unbreakable bond between the 5 times married console, Sonny and Carly, their kids, and their close friends and family.

General Hospital News And Spoilers: The Role Of Michael Corinthos To Be Recast With Familiar Face

In early June, General Hospital news reports confirmed that the role of Michael Corinthos would be recast. The role played by Chad Duell was temporarily recast, as Duell confirmed it was Covid related.

General Hospital spoilers revealed Robert Adamson would be stepping into the shoes of business man and son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for a few episodes. Duell returned to the role and has been currently playing out his character.

New General Hospital comings and goings reports confirm that Duell will be recast yet again, starting the week of August 29th. Luckily fans won’t be throw too far for a look since Robert Adamson will be taking on Chad’s character another time.

General Hospital news and spoilers have yet to reveal a reason for Duell’s absence this time around, but the recast should only last a few days.

Marshall’s schizophrenia has Portia on eggshells when it comes to protecting her daughter from any mental triggers. The trial was hard on Trina and Portia was concerned that the toll it was taking on Trina mental and emotionally would trigger a response which would lead to an unfavorable diagnosis.

General Hospital rumors hint that Curtis and Portia’s engagement will run into some roadblocks. It seems like Portia’s fears regarding Trina could start to come to the surface if Trina begins exhibiting signs of mental health issues. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) made mention that her son TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), although not blood related to Marshall, still considers him as his grandfather. GH fans saw that as a hint toward Trina, and the fact that unknowingly, she is Marshall’s biological granddaughter, putting her at risk to inherit schizophrenia.

GH rumors claim Trina will begin to show signs of the mental illness which will cause Portia to spring into action. It’s likely that Trina’s mental health crisis will spark the revelation of Portia’s secret. The dots will be connected, and the idea is Curtis being her biological father as opposed to Taggert will become certain.

Helping Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in Nixon Falls, helping her grandson Wiley to get to know his biological mother, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), and helping Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) get back her half of the Metro Court, have all been pathetic attempts at making herself look like the selfless victim.

General Hospital spoilers and rumors hint that Nina will strike again when she tries to “help” Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), confronting her about what she sees between the young mother and nurse and Doctor TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow).

General Hospital rumors claim that Nina will assume that Willow and TJ have something going on behind Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) back in the way of an affair, causing more stress to an already weakened Willow.

For just shy of years, Maurice’s role as Sonny Corinthos has been made a household name, resounding familiarity for all daytime tv fans. Many fans can’t imagine what General Hospital would be like without it’s leading man.

General Hospital news reports previously reported on Benard’s recent discussion about his future in daytime. General Hospital Blog shared GH news related to Benard’s admission of an imminent future retirement.

Recently, General Hospital spoilers reveal Benard has taken to social media to share a post involving details around the Daytime Emmy winner’s latest auditions. Maurice’s Instagram post shares a video featuring his granddaughter TT, as she gives her grandpa direction.

The proud grandpa captioned the video as follows,

“My granddaughter TT is a future Steven Spielberg. She helps me work auditions, The voice on the tape is my wife Paula incredible actress ????

TT loves to eat crazy for Cocoa Puffs while she gives me direction!!!

Oh by the way I didn’t get the part????”

Maurice shares he didn’t get the part for which he auditioned. The part Benard was seeking remains unknown at this time. We hope to say he is safe at General Hospital as Sonny Corinthos for the time being!
