General Hospital fans are saying goodbye to a long time General Hospital actress, Tamara Braun. Braun originally started her journey with General Hospital when she arrived in Port Charles as the emotionally broken Carly Benson. Tamara took in the role after the departure of Sarah Joy Brown who originated the role.
Recently, in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Tamara Braun revealed the moment she knew her character Dr. Kim Nero was being written off the show. When Braun was asked about her thoughts regarding the story line involving Dr. Kim Nero drugging her ex, Drew Cain (Billy Miller) to make a baby, in a blunt and honest statement, Braun said, “Yeah, actually that was the first time that I was like, ‘Oh, they’re going to write me off.'” Tamara Braun disclosed she confided in fellow friend and co-star, William DeVry (Julian Jerome), addressing her hunch which inevitably became the end result.
The long time General Hospital actress disclosed the news of being let go came of a shock. She explained that just weeks before she was notified she was being let go and Kim was exiting Port Charles, Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, approached Braun and told her she is about to be part of a big story. She said, “Well, I was a little surprised, because weeks before, Frank told me that I had a really big story coming up that he was really excited about.” Evidently, those plans fell through as the story took a turn in a direction Braun didn’t see coming.
They’ve left the door open for Kim Nero to return. Hopefully some day the character can be written in a way that could bring her back from rock bottom.
General Hospital’s favorite off screen couple has decided to call it quits. Though their characters Maxie Jones and JOhnny Zacchara had a brief romance on screen, the actors found love and become a family with their daughter, Harper Rose.
Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash told Soap Opera Digest the news fans will find devastating. “We are splitting due to the cliche irreconcilable differences, but we’re splitting amicably,” Barash told SOD. :We have every intention of remaining a family through this and successfully co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment.”
Kirsten Storms said, “We went to therapy for a long time, trying to figure out how to communicate better with each other.” Barash added, “But we’ve decided that raising our daughter in two separate homes would be a healthier choice for all of us.”
GH Blog is sad to report the news of Storms and Barash’s recent split. We wish them all the very best.
The latest General Hospital Blog news reported that Rebecca Herbst settled her contract negotiations with General Hospital. Although the actress and the show were able to come to an agreement, Rebecca will be gone from the canvas for a period of time.
General Hospital spoilers have revealed Rebecca will be on hiatus, and possibly won’t start taping again until mid-April. Herbst told Soap Opera Digest, “Because this contract negotiation went right up to the last minute, they did have to stop writing for me for a little while. I might not even be back taping until the second week of April, so Elizabeth is going to disappear for a little bit on your screens. They are going to try to sprinkle me in, but outlines have already been written, so I don’t know how much they can actually put me in.”
Rebecca last taped scenes as Elizabeth Webber on March 8th, 2016. Although Liz fans may be missing their girl, it will only be for a short time.
It has been a whirlwind around the recent announcement that General Hospital has replaced it’s Head Writer, Ron Carlivati, with former GH writers, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman. Fans have been up and down in regard to this news, some reluctant to embrace change, and others very excited to see what fresh writing will bring for their favorite General Hospital Characters.
According to the latest addition of Soap Opera Digest, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman reveal their plans for Genie Francis’ return to General Hospital.
General Hospital Blog previously reported that Genie Francis will be back to the canvas this coming Fall. Francis mentioned that she is hopeful for her character Laura, that there will be much in store for her when she returns to Port Charles.
In addition, the Soap Opera Digest issue contains information regarding the plans of the new writers. General Hospital spoilers reveal that the two co-writers plan on bringing more romance to the show, reintoroducing the hospital as well as the mob stories to the canvas.
In a statement that can be found in SOD, Passanante says, “There is nothing more passionate then a General Hospital fan,” and Altman adds, “We hope that they will invest their commitment in the show and give us a chance, because I think they will be rewarded. We are excited to be here; we are writers and fans.”
As we know, Finola Hughes character, Anna Devane left Port Charles to spead Duke Lavery’s ashes in Ireland. Hughes went on a Summer hiatus and was predicted to be gone from the GH canvas for about 3 months.
The latest reports of General Hospital spoilers from Soap Opera Digest suggest that Finola Hughes will be headed back to General Hospital sooner than expected. This is great news for Anna Devane fans as she will be popping back into Port Charles before Summer’s end.
It’s still uncertain the exact date of her return, however, General Hospital Blog will keep fans informed on any further confirmation of her return.
General Hospital fans, particularly, JaSam (Jason and Sam) fans have been waiting for what seems like forever for Sam to reunite with her husband Jason. Currently, Sam is still unaware that Jason is alive and well and right under her feet in Port Charles. Jake Doe also doesn’t know that he is actually Jason Morgan. Fans are at their wits end, trying to keep composed as they anxiously wait for the day Sam realizes Jason is alive.
Although we are waiting for Jason and Sam to be together as a couple, Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller may have taken that leap in real life. According to Soap Opera Digest, Kelly and Billy were spotted over 4th of July weekend in Malibu. Photos of the two co-stars were taken of them being very friendly and close. General Hospital rumors have been flying that these two are now a real life couple with a budding romance. Maybe they got sick of waiting for their characters to reunite and decided to get together for real!
Check out the photos from this past weekend in Malibu
Every since the 42nd annual Daytime Emmy pre-nomination announcement, fans have been wondering if they will be able to catch the elegant even on TV. In recent past, it has only been able to be viewed via the internet.
The industry and fans alike are ecstatic to find out that a network has picked up the event and will be televised this Spring. The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are set to air on April 26th, 2015. You can catch the show on the POP channel, formerly known as the TV Guide channel.
The event will take place on the Warner Bros. lot. Senior Executive Director of the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, David Michaels, tells Soap Opera Digest, ” We want to give fans the kind of show that they will love.”
Fans, are you excited to be able to watch the event this year? Many of our GH favorites are on the Emmy pre-nom list. It is very exciting to know that we will be able to watch this glamorous event take place again!
Great news for General Hospital fans! A beloved character is returning to the canvas. Bradford Anderson originated the role of Damian Spinelli in 2006. He left his contract role as Spinelli in 2013, but has since been back to the show for a few cameo appearances.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Bradford Anderson will be returning to General Hospital to reprise his role as the internet hacker for the mob. General Hospital spoilers indicate that Spinelli’s return will not be short term, but it remains uncertain whether or not the actor has signed a contract with GH.
We are very excited to welcome this extremely funny, smart, breath of fresh air back to Port Charles. Undoubtedly, Spinelli will be sharing scenes with Maxie, the mother of his child. Now that Maxie is in a relationship with Nathan West and is very happy, will Spinelli and Maxie have a chance to become a family with their daughter Georgie, or has that ship sailed?
Let us know your thoughts! With the news of Spinelli returning to Port Charles, would you like to see him reunite romantically with Maxie, or are you happy with Maxie’s current love life with Nathan West?
There are a lot of new connections starting as well as being discovered with the residents of Port Charles. Should we send out a NEW COUPLE ALERT for Nina and Franco? Not only do the two seem to have more in common with one another than they do with their current love interests (Carly and Silas), but General Hospital’s Head Writer, Ron Carlivati seems to think there is something there as well. According to an interview in Soap Opera Digest, Carlivati goes on to say, “Franco and Nina are two people who can possibly relate to each other due to their questionable grip on reality, their mental issues. There’s more to come here, definitely.”
What do you think? Would Franco and Nina make a great team romantically?
This Summer is already going by fast, and will GH drama like this, it’s certainly going to fly by! It may seem like we have to wait for eternity to find out the outcomes of our favorite story lines, but this Summer will bring many of them to a shocking close.
In a recent Soap Opera Digest interview, Carlivati let fans in on a bit of what’s going on this Summer.
The never ending (in a good way) Fluke saga will be revealed in early Fall. Look for Tony Geary to be back in Port Charles after Summer’s end. We will all know Fluke’s true identity this October! Geary is recovering from recent back surgery. We will see him Skype a few times over the Summer with Tracy and possibly Julian.
What’s going to happen to the long time love of Kevin and Lucy? Carlivati says, “Kevin has made it clear he wants a divorce. Lucy’s heartbroken, but deep dpwn, she does have feelings for Scott.”
Wondering if Carlos will be back on screen? Yep. He will be. He is in jail now, but with the recording of Sonny killing AJ, things are about to change.
