Gladys Corbin is the type of character that makes a significant impact on the audience. Typically, the audience has a love-hate relationship with a particular character because we simply love to hate them. A great performer makes you feel something for their character. So, if you’re left with hate and animosity toward a fictional person, that means they’ve done their job!
As for myself, many times the love to hate vibe turns straight into love for the character. It’s like I don’t even care that someone came to port Charles to torture the family whose daughter needed a kidney. Or, a boarding school brat who was actually a deranged con artist. Thankfully, soap operas love redemption for their characters. Moreover, how about a ruthless, business woman who didn’t hesitate to blackmail and manipulate her own granddaughter.
Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) falls into the same category as many of the greats. Nelle (Chloe Lanier), Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), and even Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). As most great tv villains, at some point it comes to an end. And General Hospital news and spoilers reveal that the time is now for Gladys. Yes, her reign as Greedy Gladys is over.
Gladys Says Goodbye To Port Charles
Reportedly, General Hospital news confirms that Bonnie Burroughs leaves General Hospital as Gladys is punished by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). According to GH spoilers, Gladys isn’t getting away with what she did to Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Burroughs opened up about the news, confirming that Gladys was written out of the script. She reflects on how she learned Gladys’s fate, and admits that she’s grateful.
Moreover, Burroughs admitted that Executive Producer Frank Valentini gave her an heads up. He informed her that the end was near prior to receiving the scripts. She admits, “I’m glad I did get that heads-up,” because if I hadn’t, when I got the script for the last episode, it would have hit me harder.”
Sadly, her time as Gladys is over, but that doesn’t mean that the goodbye has to beforever. Gladys should count her lucky stars for getting the royalty treatment from Sonny. Some say he’s gone soft, while others say he did what he could considering that she’s family.
Accordingly to the latest GH casting news, Bonnie Burroughs officially filmed her lays episode as Gladys Corbin. Luckily, the door is left open for Greedy Gladys, Monster-in-law, to someday return.
Take a look at what Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) has done! After all, she is the reason for Sasha having to endure this perpetual torture. Greedy Gladys has crossed the line and she will be dealt with. Previously, Sonny Corinthos showed up at her door to confront his cousin. Now, we wait. Meanwhile, her accomplice roams free.
General Hospital spoilers tease that Sonny handles Gladys, mobster style. It’s about time that someone puts a stop to Sasha’s monster-in-law. Her involvement with Selina Wu (Lydia Look) lead her to lie, steal, cheat her son’s widow. Additionally, Sasha’s life is at risk because Gladys turned to Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder) to help in the betrayal against Sasha.
According to GH previews and spoilers, Dr. Montague takes Sasha hostage inside her Ferncliff cell. There he threatens her life and says, “I’m walking out of here, and I’m taking her with me.” It’s unclear who is in the doorway when Montague makes his claim. Is whoever it is strong enough to stop him? Is this person even on Sasha’s side!?
Do NOT miss a moment of these thrilling scenes! Once again, Sofia Mattsson knocks her performance out of the park.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) doesn’t stand for betrayal. Especially when the people engaged in the betrayal are family. Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) are family. On top of that, they are also Sonny’s family. And we all know that Sonny doesn’t tolerate traitors.
After Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) untimely death, Sonny and Sasha reluctantly put their trust in Gladys. Although they were hesitant, Brando’s widow and his second cousin gave his mother the benefit of the doubt. But alas, Brando’s death didn’t change Greedy Gladys. According to General Hospital recaps, Nina gave Sonny the dirty details about Gladys and Sasha. Predictably, Sonny’s true self emerged out as he became defensive of Sasha.
GH spoilers and rumors tease that Sonny takes care of Gladys, mobster style! She thought she’d be able to skip town and live the rest of her life in paradise. Instead, she was first interrupted by Sam, then by cousin Sonny. Uh oh! There’s no way out of this for Gladys.
At this point, maybe Sonny should let her go and he guilty conscience will do it’s trick. Let her suffer the way that she made Sasha suffer. What do you think Sonny will do to Gladys?
What is she up to now?! Gladys delivers bad news! It’s gotten to the point where anyone who gives Gladys the time of day ends up facing some adverse effects of her slimy ways. Thankfully, Gladys keeps showing her cards clearly enough for some to figure out what she’ll lay down next.
Port Charles can’t seem to escape her, and anywhere there’s Gladys, there’s bad-ness ????. That being said, those closest to her should watch their backs. According to GH spoilers, someone is at the receiving end of some unpleasantries. And to top it off, Gladys delivers the bad news. Do you know that saying don’t shoot the messenger?” well, do you think someone will bend the rules just this one time? …Just kidding! But really, someone needs to do something about Greedy Gladys.
Oh no! Does she have a way out this time when Sam backs Gladys into a corner? Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) is a snake. You’d think her birthday would be coming up here on July 16th (World Snake Day). However, Gladys’s birthday remains unknown.
General Hospital spoilers reveal the pressure is on! Gladys finds herself feeling the weight of her crimes. According to GH previews and spoilers, Sam backs Gladys into a corner. She’s in too deep and now she’s drowning. Not only with Selina Wu (Lydia Look), but it’s only a matter of time before Gladys is in over her head with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), and even Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).
GH rumors tease that Gladys is about to get caught sooner or later. But one thing we do know is that she will ultimately face Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Is Sasha leaving General Hospital?! …Sofia Mattsson joined General Hospital back in 2018. During her time as Sasha Gilmore, Sofia’s played some tough scenes. For starters, she (Sasha) tackled drug addiction and mental health issues. As if that wasn’t hard enough, next, she and her husband Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) lost their newborn baby, Liam. Then unexpectedly, Brando was killed by the hook killer.
Needless to say, Sasha’s been through the wringer. When the dust started to settle, Sasha breathed a sigh of relief for the people in her life that she could depend on. Thankfully, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has stepped up in a major way after his cousin Brando’s death. Anything Sasha needs, Sonny’s got her back. Other than Sonny, Sasha also has her mother-in-law, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs).
Recent General Hospital rumors hint that Gladys’s gambling woes bring trouble for Sonny and Sasha. Evidently, Gladys can’t pay up and what she offers to Selina just won’t cut it. As a result, GH rumors claim Selina kidnaps Sasha. According to recent GH news, Mattsson is pregnant. With that, maternity leave is a definite possibility. So, is Sasha leaving General Hospital? It looks like that’s the case, with storyline rumors to support her exit. Thankfully, if she does exit the 60 year old daytime drama, her absence will be temporary. Please check back with us for any further developments.
Gladys turns on Sasha! Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) has been trying to keep her head above water through every tidal wave. Through it all, Sasha’s husband Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) would throw her a life buoy, pulling her in while she was drowning.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sasha’s struggles lead to a downward spiral. Drugs, the pressures of being the ‘Face of Deception,’ and unfathomable loss contributed her current situation. Sasha could depend on Brando to be there for her when life got dark. More importantly, she trusted him with her entire life.
General Hospital recaps recall Sasha’s brave decision to put her life in his hands. Unfortunately, she suffered another devastating loss and Brando can no longer be her savior.
Sasha’s mother-in-law Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) had a history of shady behavior throughout her relationship with her family. Greed had taken over her mind as she was driven by jealousy. Gladys wanted what her cousin Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) had and nothing would stand in her way to get what she wanted. She proved over and over that she didn’t care who would be compromised in her quest to get to the top. Gladys would preach the importance of family but rarely practiced her own advice.
Finally, after watching the loss and suffering endured by her son and his wife, Gladys began to put things into perspective. For a while it was safe to say she even changed her ways. Greedy Gladys was in the past but remained at the core of her nature. Sonny called his cousin out at her son Brando’s funeral. He made mention of how she’s changed for the better, but, reminded Gladys that the greed lies within her.
Gladys turns on Sasha
General Hospital spoilers reveal Gladys turns on Sasha at the opportunity to acquire a life full of shiny things. Sasha turned over control her estate to Gladys after Brando’s unexpected passing. Her mother-in-law had been displaying selfless acts of kindness that lead Sasha to believe she had her best interest at heart. Sonny worries Gladys is back to her old tricks as her desire to roll with the big dogs outs Sasha’s estate and well being at risk.
General Hospital rumors hint Gladys is keen on the idea to join forces with Selina Wu (Lydia Look). Sonny has gotten wind of Gladys’s intentions and sees right through her. Will Sonny be able to stop Gladys before she uses Sasha’s assets in dealings with Selina Wu?
