Things aren’t always as they seem since clues indicate that Jason doesn’t want to hurt Sonny- or anyone else from his past. Instead, General Hospital spoilers and rumors suggest that Jason’s (Steve Burton) protecting Sonny. Everyone knows that Jason’s highly skilled at what he does. The man doesn’t miss a shot. According to General Hospital recaps, the attack at the island was one of the first clues that Jason is the “shooter.” Like Ava said, Jason knows Sonny’s organization inside and out. Including the layout of the island.

Since no one can figure out why Jason would ever go against Sonny, let alone shoot at him, perhaps it’s because she’s pretending? Is it possible that Jason is working with one of Sonny’s enemies, but only to oversee the operation, and to ensure Sonny’s safety? We all know that Jason would never hurt his best friend, they’re like family.

Only someone who has spent a significant amount of time learning the landscape could pull off an ambush like that. Additionally, the individual would need to exhibit strong, survival skills, and more hell of a shot.

General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that Jason Morgan fits the bill as a skilled shooter who also happens to know the layout of Sonny’s tropical safe house. True, he possesses those qualities and then some. But the thing is that Jason Morgan would never harm Sonny or his family in a million years. However, he would if he was brainwashed. That’s why most recently fans toss around wild speculations about the shooter’s identity.

Coincidentally, (or not), Steve Burton disclosed that he’s back at Prospect Studios the week of February 5th. I don’t know about ya all, but to me that sounds like perfect timing for the mystery shooter storyline.
