Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
Evan Hofer shares post for Eden McCoy’s Birthday! Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) are among the hottest young couples in daytime. For months, their relationship was forbidden, therefore hidden. Joss and Dex figured that if Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) caught wind of their romance, they’d have to calm it quits. But to their surprise, that wasn’t the case.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that despite the relief, Josslyn and Dex’s relationship won’t be smooth sailing. However, that doesn’t mean their luck is just as rocky in really life. According to General Hospital news and spoilers, Evan Hofer and Eden McCoy’s onscreen chemistry carries over off-screen. Their romantic entanglement was confirmed a few months back, and GH Blog shared the news. CLICK HERE for the original report on Eden and Evan’s Real life vs. Reel life.
Moreover, GH news reports confirm that Eden celebrates her 20th birthday today, June 10th. In a recent tweet, Hofer shared a shoutout for his real and reel life girlfriend, Eden McCoy’s birthday! As if Dex and Joss weren’t sweet enough together, actors who play them take it to the next level!
Evan isn’t the only one who wanted to wish Eden a very happy birthday! The actress has taken to social media to thank those who took the time to send birthday wishes. Happy Birthday, Eden, from General Hospital Blog!
Mason wants Sonny dead?!?! When Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) showed up in Port Charles, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was caught off guard. Ironically, the two had already met back in Pawtucket. And in Maxie’s darkest hours, Austin appeared like an Angel of mercy.
GH recaps recall, Austin’s ties to the Quartermaine family left some people a little suspicious of his motives. Although Austin took an oath as a doctor, his personal life differs greatly from that of his professional life. In the Hippocratic Oath, the sworn-in Physician pledges to prescribe only beneficial treatments, according to his abilities and judgment; to refrain from causing harm or hurt; and to live an exemplary personal and professional life. Therefore, Austin violates his responsibilities as a doctor even when not practicing medicine. So, just how good of a guy can he be if he’s entangled on whatever Mason is up to?
General Hospital spoilers reveal Austin’s good guy image has its dark side. In this case, Austin’s dark side is his cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Gray). It’s not clear how these two got in involved in shady dealings, but it’s apparent that Austin wants out. First, Mason followed Austin to Port Charles. Then, he threatened his cousin with harming Maxie and her kids. Now, Mason has Nikolas and he wants more from Austin and Ava.
According to a leaked video, official GH spoilers reveal that Austin tells Ava that Mason wants Sonny dead. Austin’s shady side just got darker after he asks Ava to help put a hit out on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Is Julian Jerome Dex’s father? When Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) hired Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to infiltrate Sonny’s business, they never imagined what happened next. Typically, an arrangement like the one between Michael and Dex is pretty cut and dry. No one ever plans for feelings to get involved, but somehow they creep in one way or another.
That being said, Michael’s plan was to hire someone with virtually no attachments. This way, it made more sense to risk it all when it’s someone who’s got nothing to lose. According to GH recaps, Michael’s plan was foiled, retracted, and now everything is a mess. But what we don’t understand is why Dex took this job in the first place.
A trip down GH memory lane might give a little insight as to why Dex wants Sonny to pay. While some GH rumors hint that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) is Dex’s father, others claim an entirely different route to this storyline. Back in 2021, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Julian Jerome (William deVry) struggled in a physical altercation on the bridge. Ultimately, Sonny fired a shot and Julian fell into the water. Sadly, his body would later be discovered by authorities.
Therefore, fans wondering, is Julian Jerome Dex’s father? Well, according to recent GH rumors, many believe that Dex is out to make Sonny pay for killing his father, Julian Jerome.
Jordan’s pregnant by Zeke! After having been caught up in an emotional entanglement with her ex-husband, Jordan moves on two years later. Jordan (Tanisha Harper) patiently waited out her feeling for Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) for too long. And when she finally realized it was time to let go, Jordan really let go.
As she attempted to drown her feelings at the bar, Jordan ran into a little help with the grieving process. Ironically, a mysterious man came along and saved Jordan from her loneliness. Unbeknownst to Jordan, Zeke becomes another man connecting her to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). General Hospital recaps recall Joran and Portia’s connection to each other through Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). After a long history with both Portia and Curtis, Jordan decided it was time to distance herself.
According to event General Hospital spoilers, unfortunately, that won’t be possible after Jordan’s one-night stand with Portia’s brother Zeke (Gavin Houston). Some GH rumors tease that after they hooked up. Jordan’s pregnant by Zeke. Thus, forever connecting Jordan to her ex-husband’s new wife. Previously, GH spoilers and news reports confirmed that Houston spilled the tea on an upcoming “meaty” storyline. We have a sneaky suspicion it has everything to do with Portia! Ned falls and sues Nina! It’s Nina’s lucky day! It’s true, Ned can’t possibly spill her secret if he’s unconscious or can’t remember what he knows. Luckily, Nina doesn’t have to save the music quite yet, but she won’t bask in her relief for very long. Currently, Nina believes that she’s in the clear after witnessing Ned’ slip and fall accident.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) thought her life with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Corinthos) was over when Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) called her out. Confidently, he admitted to overhearing her conversation with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight).
Meanwhile, General Hospital recaps recall, the ELQ Executive made it abundantly clear that he knows exactly what Nina is up to. Even down to her halfwitted regret. Nina tried to gaslight her accuser, but Ned wasn’t letting up. After having been blamed by even his own wife and daughter, Ned wasn’t about to take the fall for Nina- or anyone else. Shockingly, it looks like he’s done exactly that!
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Ned falls and sues Nina for damages. To her dismay, Nina was presented with what would be the end of her relationship with Sonny. Unexpectedly, someone else figured out what Nina had done and was continuing to cover up. It just so happened to be the very person who’s been accused of Mine’s own actions. Now, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and many other’s lives are flipped upside down. Not to mention, Ned’s as he’s been falsely named the snitch.
The SEC wants Nina! Things started to turn around for Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) when his wife and daughter changed their minds. Having Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) support is important to Ned. After all, he didn’t do what everyone think he did, but surely he wants to find out!
Wouldn’t you want to clear your name if you were accused of something you didn’t do? Luckily, Ned isn’t the only one who wants the truth. From the big dogs to the gossipers around Port Charles, many use their resources to find the truth. Even Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) believes that Ned is innocent. With so many on Ned’s side, someone is Boi d to uncover her secret.
According to recent General Hospital spoilers, Nina faces her own reality. However, it isn’t from anyone trying to vindicate Ned. The latest General Hospital previews indicate that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) has a talk with his client. Inevitably, Nina is running out of time before her jig is up. And now, Feds are on his tail because the SEC wants Nina. Well, they want to know the identity of who tipped them off, which ultimately leads to Nina.
The SAG-AFTRA supports a fair deal for the WGA. Will actors strike next? As if the writer’s strike wasn’t enough to get an audience into a frenzy, another influential strike could be on the horizon. On May 2nd, The Writers Guild Of America went on strike. Now, the future of our favorite shows hangs in the balance. Thankfully, General Hospital episodes are filmed about 4-6 weeks in advance for some leeway. But freelance writers have stepped in during this time, and the show goes on.
General Hospital fans standby as the storylines keep rolling. Currently, freelance lawyers continue to write futures for our factors characters, but soon that may come to a halt. Recent General Hospital news reports mention a new concern. Now, GH spoilers point out that the contract between the actors union (SAG-AFTRA) and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) ends on June 30th.
On June 5th, an alarming 97% of SAG-AFTRA members are in favor to authorize a strike if the AMPTP cannot reach an agreement with the union. According to the latest developments, General Hospital news reports reveal that SAG-AFTRA members stand united for their cause. In fact, SAG-AFTRA President, Fran Drescher, gave her statement. “Together we lock elbows and in unity, we build a new contract that honors our contributions in this remarkable industry, reflects the new digital and streaming business model, and brings all our concerns for protections and benefits into the now!”
At this time there are no new developments. However, come June 30th the parties involved should have further insight. Keep checking in with General Hospital Blog for the latest!
Attention All My Children fans, Walt Willey joins GH as Jackson Montgomery! We are so excited to share details regarding the latest General Hospital casting news. This Summer, a new lawyer could be the one to put Sonny away for a very long time!
Wildly popular actor, Walt Willey joined ABC’s All My Children in 1987. He originated the role that become half of one of the most iconic couples in tv history. Soon after, Jack Montgomery (played by Willey) and Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) love story stole the fan’s attention. And the rest is history.
According to recent General Hospital news and spoilers, Walt Willey returns to daytime tv. Recent GH comings and goings reports annouce that Walt Willey joins GH as Jackson Montgomery! Yes, he reprises his role as Attorney Jackson Montgomery this coming July. That being said, GH rumors speculate that Walt brings Jackson to Port Charles for a particular case. Could he come to represent the SEC in the case against Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)? If the SEC passes on Carly and hands Sonny over to the Feds, Mr. Montgomery may be the one to put Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) away for good.
Cameron Mathison survives cancer. …General Hospital star, Cameron Mathison, joined the daytime drama in August of 2021. In under two years, his portrayal of Drew Cain became wildly popular.
Prior to GH, Cameron was a well known actor. His most recognizable roles were as Ryan Lavery on ABC’s All My Children, as well as a popular TV show host. All throughout the late 90s and 2000s, Cameron’s face established recognition across American’s living rooms. Fast forward to 2019, and the popular daytime drama star faced real life challenges.
Cameron Mathison Survives Cancer
Previously, General Hospital news reports confirmed that Mathison was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August of 2019. In an interview last year, Mathison gave a health update in regard to life after surgery. He made note that he was better than ever. He revealed, “But honestly, never better. I think I’m as strong as I was in my mid-20s. I have more energy than I had 20 years ago.” Mathison told ET. The star added, “I’ve definitely got a different perspective on life for sure from this experience.”
Now, a year after that June, 2022 update, Cameron Mathison shared his story on Instagram. He sends his “love to all fellow survivors out there,” and shared a photo from his 2019 surgery.
Will Ned confront Nina?! …Out of nowhere, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) were outed to the SEC. Everyone, including his wife and daughter were quick to blame Ned. The Quartermaine family has a reputation for their unethical business practices. Because of this, Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) inadvertently became Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) scapegoat.
While Ned pleads with trusted family, Nina sits back and lets someone else take the blame for her impulsive actions. She knows that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will destroy whoever it is that’s done this to Carly. So instead of speaking up, she let Sonny believe it was Ned in order to save herself. Well, GH spoilers hint that she’s running out of lives when it comes to surviving as Sonny’s fiancé and beyond. Nina turned Carlt and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC because she finds Carly a threat to her relationship with Sonny. The one thing Nina’s right about is that Carly sure is a threat. But inexperienced Nina went about things all wrong. Sadly, what she’s done will only bring Sonny and Carly closer.
Nina won’t be able to hide much longer once everyone finds out Ned is innocent. According to GH spoilers, Ned confronts someone and says. “It was you all along,” with chilling confidence. Does he know? Will Ned confront Nina about turning Carly and Drew into the SEC?
