Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) went against her better judgment and reluctantly agreed to one date with the new guy in town and friend of Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).
The date was an absolute disaster which resulted in Britt pouring wine on Cody, name calling, accusations, and overall disappointment and disgust. How could these two possibly have matched when they seem as though they should never even cross paths let alone enter into a romantic relationship. Enemies is an understatement at this point. So what could have lead to their mysterious match?
General Hospital spoilers and rumors hint that Britt is no dummy (of course she isn’t!), and she catches on quickly, realizing she and Cody never really matched at all. Since we know that Spinelli is the one pulling the strings at Society Setups, it will be his behind that will ultimately have to answer to the fraudulent connection.
General Hospital previews indicate that Britt is r day to sue Society Setups for what she has to endure on her date with Cody. Clearly these two were not a genuine match, and something is fishy with their connection. We know that Cody had Spinelli set this up, and now Spinelli could be in some serious trouble. He’s hiding his role in the dating service from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and everyone else. His secret just might explode when Britt comes for the dating service.
We love keeping up with what our favorite General Hospital stars are up to when they aren’t over at Prospect Studios filming their respective scenes as residents in the fictional city of Port Charles, New York.
Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) and Wes Ramsey (Peter August) often share prices of their personal lives via social media.
General Hospital news and spoilers reveal the real life star couple has recently enjoyed an amazing vacation together with their family. They shared photos from Fort Collins and more, displaying their various adventures from horseback riding too hot air balloons and family dinners.
General Hospital news reports confirmed that Laura had revealed in July 8th that she has tested positive for Covid, which resulted in the premature ending of their family getaway. This news lead fans to question whether or not the role of Carly Corinthos would soon be temporarily recast.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Wright has taken to in social media to assure fans she’s going well, and explain that General Hospital is currently in a planned filming hiatus. She explained the timing shock s pan out where she will be all set to return to the set of GH by the time the cast and crew is ready to start filming again. Laura explained, “I’m good,” as she assured a fan who had been asking if Laura was feeling well. “And we are on break right now so I’ll be good when we start shooting again.”
There is no reason for concern over recasting news for Carly and her portrayer Laura at this time.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has lost her husband and her career in a short time at the hand of her arch rival, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
General Hospital recaps reflect on the way Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) runs to Carly’s side when she’s hurt or in trouble. His final inquisition, asking is she’s okay, Carly reflected on knowing that Nina is Willow Tait’s biological mother, and reassured herself of her power. She told Sonny she’s okay because she has her family, while remembering that Nina doesn’t have hers.
General Hospital spoilers and rumors indicate that Willow is going to need medical attention that could required some type of organ transplant. Her chances at survival would greatly increase if a close relative was a match.
General Hospital rumors indicate that Carly will be faced with giving up her last form of ammunition against Nina- her daughter. I’m order to help save Willow’s life, Carly will have to decide to expose Harmony Miller’s (Inga Cadranel) secret confirming that Nina is Willow’s biological mother.
So much loss in so little time! Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will be making some major adjustments in her life.
She has already accepted the fact that she had to move on from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), the love of her life and the man she married FIVE TIMES. He chose a different path, aka Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), and Carly isn’t going to wait around for him to sort out his feelings for another woman.
General Hospital recaps remind fans of Carly’s more recent loss, her owner status at The Metro Court Hotel. She and Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) have been going halvesies on the hotel for years. It became a second home to them both and their business partnership allowed their true friendship to grow. Now, Carly is left without.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly now has a new mission in life. She’s in need of keeping her mind occupied. General Hospital previews indicate Carly will fixate in one particular person in Port Charles and it isn’t Nina- for now.
General Hospital rumors suggest that Carly will make it her mission to make sure Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) pays for what she has done to her daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), and Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
Trina’s support system is strong. With everyone working tirelessly to prove her innocence and to expose Esme, GH rumors hint that the future is bright for Trina. Having Carly on her side is a win in itself.
Cynthia Watros has become one of the most controversial actresses on ABC’s General Hospital, after her role as Nina Reeves has had a polarizing effect on GH fans.
Whether you love her as Nina or love to hate her in the role, there’s no question Cynthia Watros can really bring it, roping fans into the storyline, investing in every moment. Coming between Daytime’s most loved couple, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his soulmate, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) isn’t the best look for Nina, but Cynthia does what she has to do in her role as one of the most loathed home wreckers.
General Hospital news reports reveal Cynthia has shared a video via Twitter, thanking her “talented friends” for their love and support. In her recent social media post, Watros shows the before and after magic of hair and makeup. Revealing her “before” look, Cynthia shows what it’s like to arrive at work, head to hair and makeup, and reveals the “after” look created by the talented hair and makeup team at General Hospital. Watros then thanks friends by name for the lovely flower arrangement which was sent to her dressing room.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is an extremely strong and resourceful woman but despite all her stress, she is at one of the lowest points in her life.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly is about to endure another blow after hearing Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) plan to help her, and turning down Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) offer to swoop in and save her from losing a part of herself.
GH spoilers and previews indicate that Carly hasn’t found a solution for her financial problems and has turned down any suggestion if assistance by other sources. The last thing Carly would want is for Nina to yet again get one up on her.
General Hospital rumors hint that Carly’s life takes another nose dive and the one to blame is Nina. If Nina buys the Metro Court, she will be sticking it to Carly, twisting the knife that she dug in when she kidnapped and stole her husband.
Carly may be down and out but she always finds a way to rise back up to the surface. She still has something powerful in her back pocket. Don’t forget Carly knows that Nina’s biological daughter is alive and well and right under her nose! Keeping the secret about Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is all the leverage Carly needs.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has been obvious in showing his interest in perusing Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) as a romantic prospect. However, he may have shot himself in the foot when it comes to any chance he could have had with the recently divorced mother and business woman.
General Hospital recaps and spoilers reveal that in his attempt to help Carly, Drew has gone behind her back and approached Nina Reeves with a proposal to buy Carly’s half of the Metro Court.
General Hospital spoilers and previews suggest that Drew explains the logic of his recent actions which has left Carly feeling betrayed and alone in this fight. Of all people to turn to, Carly can’t wrap her head around why he would go to her biggest enemy. Recent GH previews indicate that Drew has to work over time in his explanation to Carly if he wants to salvage whatever relationship that was brewing between them.
Can Drew convince Carly that his intentions were solely to help out in her financial crisis, even though his approach to Nina was not ideal?
The strength of Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has truly been put to the test as of late after her entire world has turned upside down, stating with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) betrayal.
Sonny Corinthos initiated the series of events that have taken a toll on a strong and successful woman. When he chose to stand by Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) after keeping him from his wife and children, Carly cut her losses and realized that Sonny wasn’t the same man she knew, loved, and married 5 different times. Since then, Carly has run into one unfortunate incident after another.
General Hospital recaps surrounding Carly and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) developing friendship suggest that they were headed for either a strong bond comparable to what she had with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), or something more along the lines of romance.
However, recent General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly feels the sting of Drew’s unintentional betrayal after he approaches Nina with a business proposal. GH previews and spoilers indicate that Drew proposes to Nina that she buys the other half of the Metro Court. Although his intentions are good as he’s trying to keep his word in helping Carly get through her financial crisis, Carly won’t be happy about how he goes about the plan.
Will this situation reverse the progress Carly and Drew have made in their relationship? What once seemed like a promising pair has now been tainted by the likes of Nina. Carly can’t seem to escape her.
Steve Burton has an impressive career history dating back to his first role in 1986. Burton’s small role playing an FBI agent as “Ithaca” in The Manhattan Project. Steve then went on to play in the sitcom, Out Of This World, from 1987-1991 before beginning his career in Daytime TV.
General Hospital news and spoilers report Burton’s most recent career moves have occurred over a short period of time. Burton played the iconic role of mob enforcer, Jason Morgan for 3 decades. As the right hand man of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) Jason and Sonny become one of the most popular daytime duos; with their leading ladies, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) by their side, these power couples were unstoppable.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that before Steve become Jason “Quartermaine” Morgan, his first role in Daytime was actually on Days Of Our Lives. Since Burton’s premature departure from ABC’s General Hospital last November, he has made yet another premising career move.
In a recent Instagram post, Burton shared a tidbit of information with fans regarding his role on the series, Beyond Salem, a spin-off of DOOL.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Steve is returning to Days as the same character (Harris Michaels) he played back in the day which kickstarted his Daytime career!
General Hospital news reports confirm that Beyond Salem will be available on Peacock this July 11th!
In Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) absence, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has recruited another right hand man to depend on.
Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) has stepped up as Sonny’s most trusted friend and enforcer. The fact that Brando and Sonny are family strengthens the trust between them.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Brando shows just how valuable he can be. Brando doesn’t hesitate when it comes to protecting Sonny and those who are important to him. He has proven time and time again that he’d lay his life on the line to protect the people on their inner circle. That’s more than anyone can say for Sonny’s own son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
Michael has hired Dex (Evan Hofer) to work for him undercover while he’s playing Sonny for a fool. When Dex first showed up trying to prove himself to the mob boss, Sonny made it clear that he wouldn’t tolerate any type of betrayal or harm to anyone he loves. Sonny isn’t one to mess with, and his reputation in Port Charles should be earning enough not to cross him. Dex is on Michael’s payroll, acting as a twisted employee of Sonny while spying to pass inside information over to Michael. Michael’s plan to take down his own father is well on its way, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to last very long.
General Hospital rumors and spoilers suggest Brando is on his A game was an advocate for Sonny’s best interest. GH rumors claim Brando is about to busy Michael’s little operation and expose Dex for the fraud that he is and Michael for orchestrating this betrayal against Sonny.
Through their rocky relationship, Sonny has always remained loyal to his son even when Michael has shown disrespect and has taken action to destroy his father. But how far can Sonny be pushed before he has to treat Michael like any other enemy?
