Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) isn’t one to dwell on anyone’s last word. He doesn’t take advice with open arms, and often overlooks things he may not believe or have direct interest.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny should think twice before dismissing information that will be brought to his attention.
It’s always sound advice to adhere to the common phrase, “you can’t believe everything you hear,” but sometimes, it’s beneficial to take the time to listen and trust when someone is trying to get through to you.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny hears something he doesn’t want to believe, or doesn’t think will amount to any big deal, and will initially dismiss and overlook what he hears.
Something tells us that Sonny should really focus on what he’s heard instead of blowing it off. Perhaps it’s some type of warning? General Hospital comings and goings news reports confirm the return of Jeff Kober as Cyrus Renault. Now that Sonny’s enemy is rearing his head, threats and danger pickup in Port Charles.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is trying to get his life back on track now that the nightmare is over and he has been reunited with his family. Although Sonny doesn’t see it as a nightmare, his wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has her own thoughts on what happened to her husband at the hands of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Sonny and Carly are trying to pick up where they left off in regard to their relationship, but there is so much gray area, and things left unsaid, it’s been difficult to get back into the swing of their fault lives. Sonny is still keeping the whole truth from Carly, hiding the fact that he and Nina fell in love.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny’s son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), are surprised by what Sonny and Carly decided to do.
General Hospital spoilers and rumors suggest Dante and Sam are surprised, but not in a good way. They are taken back by Sonny and Carly’s upcoming decision.
General Hospital previews indicate this will happen on Monday’s episode of General Hospital.
General Hospital’s leading man loves to let us in on his personal life via social media platforms. Benard uses Instagram to share photos and events of his family life, outside of what we see as he portrays Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s, General Hospital.
General Hospital news reports inform fans that this time, what Maurice is letting us in on is something everyone dreads to announce. Among the happy times, the harsh reality of life hits us when we least expect it.
General Hospital news and spoilers reveal Maurice has announced the death of his hero, his father, Humberto Morales. Humberto was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, which correlated along side GH’s storyline involving Sonny’s struggling with Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) Alzheimer diagnosis.
In his Instagram post below, Benard reflects on the impression his father has left, with words he will take with him and remember him by.
Our hearts go out to Maurice, Paula, their children, and the entire family as they say goodbye to their hero.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) can’t return from the dead without expecting his enemies to reach out.
General Hospital news reports confirm the return of Jeff Kober as he reprised his role as Cyrus Renault.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cyrus is persistent from behind bars as he keeps reaching out to Sonny. Renault was finally busted by Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and sent to federal prison. Although he hasn’t been released, he can still make trouble in Port Charles from the inside.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is back home in Port Charles, and it’s business as usual. Who better to get Sonny back into the swing of things than Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)?
Just because Cyrus is behind bars, in federal prison, doesn’t mean he’s no longer a threat. General Hospital spoilers reveal Cyrus emerges yet again, this time using a more direct approach.
General Hospital previews indicated that Cyrus reaches out to Sonny. Sonny takes a call from Renault, making it the first conversation they’ve had since Sonny’s return from a presumed death.
Sonny is currently a little distracted with everything going on with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and Michael’s (Chad Duell) action taken against Nina.
General Hospital rumors suggest that Cyrus may use Sonny’s vulnerable state and take this opportunity as a way to make a move against him. Renault’s next love may not be predictable.
GH rumors claim he will be the one to hold Sonny’s secret about his affair with Nina as a bargaining chip. Sonny better come clean to Carly before Cyrus causes things to spiral, leading to the inevitable exposure of their secret.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) have a secret only a few others know. Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Jasper Jax Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) are the only ones who know the whole truth about what happened between Sonny and Nina in Nixon Falls.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny continues to unintentionally raise red flags on the topic of Nina. Other than Carly, Michael seems to be the I it one who wants justice for what Nina has done to the Corinthos family. He took action against her by arranging her arrest, and gets a strange vibe from his father.
General Hospital previews indicate that Michael can sense something is off work Sonny when discussing the current situation regarding Nina. He calls out his dad, asking if he has a problem with Michael reaching out to the politician.
After Sonny’s comments to Carly, defending Nina to an extent, General Hospital rumors suggest that Michael and Carly will pick up on Sonny’s subtle and unintentional clues which could lead to exposing his and Nina’s secret.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) wants justice for his family and to do so he had to go after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) head on.
Michael is a savvy business man and used his skills to benefit a personal interest. Now that he has set Nina’s arrest in motion, her status at Crimson has made her personal choices a public issue.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Nina’s arrest will be splattered all over the news headlines. In recent General Hospital previews, Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) tells it like the public sees it in the interrogation room, Scotty exclaims, “Rich fashion editor holds mystery man hostage.”
General Hospital spoilers indicate Nina can’t hide from what she’s done, although some parts of the story are still left in the dark. It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the story gets out, and Sonny and Nina’s love affair is brought to light. If Michael and Carly are angry and wanting justice know, just wait until they find out the entire truth.
The damage caused by Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) not only has left lasting effects on the lives she has turned upside down, her choices are still creating new problems for those she hurt.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) got the ball rolling on getting justice for what Nina has done to his family. Lying and keeping Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) a secret for nine months is bound to have some repercussions, yet Michael is getting backlash from Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Jasper Jacks Jax (Ingo Rademacher) for trying to get justice.
General Hospital previews indicate that Sonny learns of Nina’s recent arrest, and questions Carly. Sonny asks Carly if she’s the one who set the arrest in motion. Michael, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Carly remain unaware of the love affair between Nina and Sonny. It’s confusing to wonder why Sonny doesn’t want Nina to pay for what she’s done as much as his family does. If they only knew Sonny holds a soft spot in his heart for Nina, things would begin to make some sense.
General Hospital spoilers and previews show Carly is taken back by Sonny’s accusation. She clearly wasn’t the one to set things in motion, but she has every right to if she did! Michael just wants justice for his family, but has to overcome pushback from people who should have his back.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) are co-parenting while growing as a family now that they can officially be together. Unlike most of Michael’s past love interests, Willow gets along well with his mother, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
Perhaps Willow is a little too comfortable around Carly, which could be why she thinks it would be beneficial to speak her mind and make a bold statement on such a sensitive subject.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Willow checks in with Carly, discussing the current state of affairs regarding Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Wiley Corinthos (Caleb and Kyler Ends).
In recent General Hospital previews, Willow makes it clear to Carly that she thinks they shouldn’t poke the bear (Nina). She says, “Why provoke the fight until we absolutely have to?,” making her opinion about how to handle Nina, known to Carly.
General Hospital rumors suggest that willows strong opinion on letting Nina slide won’t sit well with Carly, causing some animosity between Wiley’s mom and grandma. Carly wants to see Nina suffer for what she’s done, but will she back down after Willow makes her point? Or will she become angry with Willow, causing more fuel to the fire?
Ava Jerome (Maura West) has done her best to play nice with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was presumed dead. Ava even trusted Carly to take care of Avery, Sonny and Ava’s daughter. Now that Sonny is home, Ava has other arrangements in mind for Avery.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava meets with Sonny to discuss custody arrangements after being denied by Carly. To keep Avery safe when Ava’s stalker was at his worst, she asked Carly to care for her step daughter while she left town. Now that there is no need to leave Port Charles, Ava wants to renegotiate custody.
General Hospital previews show Ava setting the foundation for the conversation with Sonny, telling him she doesn’t think the current situation is what’s best for their daughter any longer.
Odds are that Sonny will be less than cooperative, and General Hospital rumors claim Ava will have to play a little dirty. Ava knows that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny fell in love back in Nixon Falls, putting together the pieces of Nina’s stories about “Mike.” It’s possible Ava addresses the sensitive subject, using what she knows as leverage to get Sonny to comply with a fair custody agreement.
Sonny still hasn’t been completely honest with Carly, and if he wants to keep her in the dark about what happened with Nina, he just might have to play by Ava’s rules.
