Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) thought he had gained Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) trust after having endured torture, and continues to risk his life for the “organization.” But still, Corinthos has his doubts about Dex.

Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) struggles to trust her own mother after the recent Corinthos family drama. As a result tension fills the air between Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and his wife. Of course, the situation never would have come about without Sonny’s wife, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Unfortunately for Willow, Nina isn’t just her step-mother-in-law. She’s also Willow’s biological mother. According to recent General Hospital spoilers and previews, Sonny still finds it difficult to trust again. Not only did Nina let lie him, she deliberately hurt two people that Willow and Michael both care about. As for Sonny, he cares for Carly (Laura Wright) and respects Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Moreover, Michael kept his step-mother’s lie a secret from both and Willow. Although each betrayed him in different ways, Sonny is seemingly done with Nina. But his son is another story. The most recent General Hospital previews indicate that Michael asks Sonny for forgiveness, but it’s unclear whether or not he’s ready to take that trusting leap. Right now it’s hard for Sonny to trust anyone- let alone someone who has directly lied to him. GH rumors tease that odds are Sonny won’t forgive Nina, but there’s hope for Michael and Sonny to regain what’s they’ve lost. Their bond.

The incredible 60 year old drama series brings us new content five days a week. Year after year we get to know the characters a little better. Moreover, technology has set the stage for fans to have a deeper look into the actors behind the roles. -Not all of the GH cast has social media profiles, but many live to engage wit the fans, giving us a glimpse. Often times we tend to associate our favorite character’s lives with the life their portray on television. Sometimes the actor and their GH role are similar, and other times they are total opposite. And there are times that it’s hard to remember that they have real or drama in addition to the role they play on our favorite show.

General Hospital news and spoilers reveal Maurice’s recent real life drama. In their latest social media post, GH’s Maurice Benard and Evan Hofer shared a collaborative Instagram video to tell the story.
Evidently, General Hospital star Maurice Benard was swimming in the ocean when a shark approached him. Benard mentioned that he was wearing a Speedo (relevance in question. 😜) That’s when his co-star Evan Hofer (who plays Dex Heller) thought to grab a State of Mind. He said that he took off the shirt and tossed it out to Benard.

As one of the most highly anticipated comeback in General Hospital history, Steve Burton’s return has GH fans at the edge of their seat. Last week General Hospital Blog helped spread that word that Burton was back filming at Prospect Studios. But at the time an official air date hadn’t been released.

Confirmed! Steve Burton returns to General Hospital next week! Although his on-screen return date is still TBA, Steve Burton reports back to Prospect Studios the week of February 5th, 2024.
Reflecting on Sonny and Dex’s conversation, Sonny believes the attack was an inside operation. Only someone who has spent a significant amount of time learning the landscape could pull off an ambush like that. Additionally, the individual would need to exhibit strong, survival skills, and more hell of a shot.
Jason Morgan Returns As Sonny’s Enemy

True, he possesses those qualities and then some. But the thing is that Jason Morgan would never harm Sonny or his family in a million years. However, he would if he was brainwashed. Coincidentally, (or not), Steve Burton disclosed that he’s back at Prospect Studios the week of February 5th. I don’t know about ya all, but to me that sounds like perfect timing for the mystery shooter storyline.

Hmm 🤔 Something doesn’t seem right with this lol.
As if that wasn’t enough, Nina manipulated a man with amnesia, stole him from his wife Carly, and then she even stole her career. Once again, something’s off 🤨. Fast forward and General Hospital spoilers tease that Nina isn’t done fighting. After Carly kept Harmony’s secret about Willow, and after Nina rattled to the SEC, they’re done so far yet are back at square one.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) really did it this time. Even though she won’t take accountability, Nina single-handedly dug her own grave when it comes to Sonny and Willow. Her SEC stunt was the last straw for both of them, and now she has to deal with the consequences. That is, Nina must face the fact that she’s lost Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) forever.
As expected, GH spoilers and rumors suggest that Sonny and Nina ultimately become divorced. That’s expected as their marriage was legal and binding- and now it’s over. But what happens with Nina and Willow’s relationship? Is it over based on the spoken word? According to recent General Hospital spoilers, there may be another way for Willow to distance herself from Nina.
Willow Takes Legal Action Against Nina
Forget a restraining order, those are for amateurs, lol. GH rumors tease that Willow seeks something more permanent and binding. Willow asks Diane to legally remove Nina as her mother. Sadly, Nina blew every single chance she had with Carly’s husband 😜 and her own daughter. Now she’s without her stolen husband, as well as alienated from her daughter yet again. The difference is that this time there’s no going back. Willow seeks Diane’s counsel to finally be rid of Nina for good.
Jordan is no stranger to danger. In fact, she’s been in this line for work for a while now, and knows what comes with the territory. Her life and the lives of her loved ones have been threatened more than one. Moreover, Jordan was even locked in a burning basement filled with gas, left to die. And if that wasn’t horrific enough, well her own son was kidnapped at one point as well. Needless to say; Jordan’s been through it and she knows what this job means.
General Hospital spoilers and previews indicate that Jordan sees her job as much more than following every rule by the book. If she wants to get to the bottom of an investigation, she’s gonna have to just go for it. The last encounter with the Feds really shook Jordan, and now she wants answers.
According to recent GH previews, Jordan is willing to do what it takes, even if that means breaking the rules- and laws. General Hospital rumors claim that Jordan turns to organized crime to help her find out who was at the interrogation room door. The whole situation. Has Jordan frazzled, and she can’t afford the distraction.
So what will it be, folks? Will Nina and Carly quit while they’re still in one piece, or will it cost a lot more to “settle the score”?
At this point I can’t even remotely fathom how anyone is on Nina’s side. Don’t get me wrong because I think Nina is a crazy cool character, and Cynthia Watros is exceptionally talented. However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t see her problematic nature, faults, and flaws. In fact, Cynthia’s acting abilities is what makes me compare her to all the narcissists in my life. Simply put, Cynthia Watros plays it so well. How can anyone possibly hate on that? Now her character in the other hand, she’s fair game.
GH recaps recall Nina’s fierce reaction to Carly and Drew’s Crimson stunt. What’s the point of asking Carly if they’re finally even if she doesn’t plan on leaving well enough alone? It’s apparent that Nina has zero plans to leave things as they are with Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright). Obviously, Nina doesn’t care about playing fair when all she sees is red and Carly’s smirk every time she closes her eyes. If I didn’t know better, it surely looks like Carly and Drew ignite the evil spirits within Nina as they’ve been fighting to emerge. I’d I had to guess, I’d say that this feud is far from over.
According to General Hospital spoilers, Valentin makes Nina an offer. Evidently, the offer is so enticing that Nina contemplates her next move. GH turned give that Valentin’s offer would give Nina the upper hand over Drew and Carly’s son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Will Nina take on a new role at ELQ?
