Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is handling the mob boss life the best she can, under all this pressure that’s coming from every angle. She’s dealing with Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) absence, song with Cyrus Renault’s prominent presence, along with Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
Cyrus has kidnapped and gagged Brando Corbin’s mom, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs), after finding out she was working a deal for immunity with Carly’s lawyer, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), and law enforcement.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cyrus is a step ahead as Carly is shown in the recent General Hospital previews, discovering foul play in Gladys’ hotel room. She knows exactly what has happened.
Carly takes matters into her own hands as she earns her places and status as the new mob boss preceding her presumed late husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
General Hospital rumors suggest that although Cyrus seems to be a step ahead of Carly now, she figures out a way to keep moving forward.
Would you say that Carly Corinthos is no match for Cyrus Renault , or that Cyrus Renault is no match for Carly Corinthos?
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), aka Mike, and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) have become quite close over the last few months. The Tan-o has become a home away from home for Nina, and as for Sonny, it’s become the only home he knows.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Aka Mike, is out off by Nina’s next move- or potential move. The due has been working together to find out just what Elijah Crowe (Dan White) is up to. He’s been swindling small business owners for his own profit.
General Hospital previews show Nina and Sonny having an argumentative conversation over Nina wanting to push her limits. After Sonny broke into Elijah’s office, and Nina was caught snooping, red flags were raised and Elijah is onto them.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny doesn’t want Nina to get to risky with their investigation and they burr heads on what they should do next. Elijah is already into them, any further action by Nina could cause more than Nina is ready to handle.
Last month, General Hospital comings and goings reports confirmed that All My Children star, Cameron Mathison is joining the cast of General Hospital. General Hospital news updates reported Mathison now knows more about the role he will be playing in Port Charles.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Mathison will be back in early June after he finishes filming a Hallmark movie. This timeline reflects when he will begin filming on the set of GH at Prospect Studios.
Since no one knows who Cameron Mathison will be playing when he arrives in Port Charles, General Hospital rumors have began circulating, making claims he will replace Rick Hearst as Ric Lansing. Ric is the brother of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and father to Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) daughter, Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos).
Has the mystery role of Cameron Mathison been solved? Could the rumors be true? Is there a potential story line there for Sonny’s little brother to come back to Port Charles?
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is working on a plan to help her Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) exonerated while he and Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) are running from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and the law. Sasha is pregnant with Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) baby and Carly is using that to her advantage.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cyrus Renault is obsessed with Sasha and will become dangerously jealous if he finds out Brando is her baby’s father. But fans question how we got to this point. It’s true that Cyrus and Sasha we friends for a brief moment in time, but that friendship was of convenience on both ends. She wanted drugs, and he had what she wanted. But after her near death experience, Sasha woke up and realized Cyrus brings nothing but bad news. Other than a few minor run ins around Port Charles. Sasha and Cyrus haven’t really had much to do with each other, and now Cyrus is suddenly so obsessed with her that he wants the man who got her pregnant to be brought to him.
General Hospital rumors suggest Renault’s obsession with Sasha will make Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) finally see the light in order to help Peter’s her son and grandchild. Carly has hope that Gladys will see the threat of Cyrus knowing about Sasha and Brando, and keep quiet. All while turning on Cyrus and changing her story about Jason as the prime suspect in Franco’s (Roger Howarth) murder.
Pertinent information has dropped into Carly’s lap and although hesitant to betray Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) trust, she knows that nothing is more important than proving that Jason is innocent.
Carly will use Renault’s sudden obsession with Sasha to intimidate Gladys into dropping her statement and using her silence to protect her son. But if Gladys was capable of snitching on Brando, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and the Corinthos family about Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab), there’s no telling of Gladys will do right by her own family now.
General Hospital fans have been vocal about their opinion regarding the current storyline involving fan favorite, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Everyone just wants to see Sonny remember who is he and leave his life as Mike behind.
Due to Maurice’s lessened time on screen as Sonny suffers from amnesia, General Hospital rumors began surrounding Benard’s status with the 58 year old drama. Some GH fans have questioned Benard’s half-absence.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos is well on his way to regaining his memories from his past life. As for how he will be found and return to Port Charles, that remains a mystery. And as for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), the GH audience wants her to pay for what she has done by keeping Sonny away from Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and loved ones.
General Hospital news and spoilers endure fans that the GH rumors regarding Benard and Covid are false. Another rumors is that Benard has made himself scared on screen due to an outside project such as a movie. Benard has posted and Instagram story, informing fans that the rumors of having Covid and/or filming a movie is actually false.
General Hospital star, Maurice Benard has been having a great time with the change of pace that comes with portraying an entrepreneur new personality for the legendary Mob Boss, Sonny Corinthos. Benard recently confirmed that Mike will soon begin to remember parts of his life that reveal his true identity as a gangster from Port Charles, NY.
When it comes to long, drawn out storylines, GH fans have proven time and time again that they (we, myself included), lack patience while waiting for the stories to unravel. When referring to the current situation with Sonny Corinthos and his other persona, Mike, patience is running very thin. Although fans understand the process, it’s difficult to watch as Nina Reeve (Cynthia Watros) keeps Mike all to herself while she knows damn well that Sonny’s family is grieving his loss back home in PC.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny will soon be reunited with his wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), his children, and his loved ones. Until then, Sonny will experience memories and bits and pieces of his old life.
General Hospital news leaks confirm Maurice shared a video for his GH fans, letting them in on a secret. In the video, he is sitting around relaxing, reflecting on his current characters, Mike and Sonny. As he narrates the homemade video from “Mike’s” perspective, he said, “I’m starting to remember like, my past.” Benard goes on to say, “I keep hearing, Sonny where have you been? What’s up?…”
Take a look at Maurice’s video below, as he reveals to GH, and Sonny fans that Mike is starting to remember who he really is.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) made the tough decision to go against what his mother, Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) advised, and went ahead and made a deal with his good ole Uncle Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Even his wife, Ava Jerome (Maura West) begged him not to return Florence Gray to Cyrus in exchange for Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) protection.
Nikolas realizes he should have done things differently when dealing with Cyrus. But it’s too late to go back and change things.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Nikolas is ready to face his uncle with an approach that is an equal, and possibly even greater force. Nikolas isn’t messing around now that he sees how dangerous Renault can be after threatening Ava and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) daughter, Avery. Cyrus even tried to intimidate Nikolas by name dropping his son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel).
General Hospital previews show Nikolas telling Ava that Cyrus is about to meet his father’s side of the family. Renault thinks his tougher and more ruthless than a Spencer, but wait until he feels the wrath of the Cassadine side of the family.
General Hospital rumors suggest that Nikolas is ready to unleash talked Cassadine savagery. Nikolas Cassadine has always prided himself on how different he is from his father, Stavros, leaving evil in the past with Helena and the rest. But Nikolas has always had it in him to do what it takes as a Cassadine.
Nikolas is about to show Cyrus the true meaning of why he’s referred to as, The Dark Prince.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is causing more trouble then she just realize. Not only are her actions hurting Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and the rest of Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) family, danger is never isolated when it comes to mob related violence.
General Hospital spoilers reveal things get worse before they get better in Port Charles. Nina is the reason Sonny isn’t able to protect his territory in Port Charles against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Due to his disappearance, and Jason Morgan’s current situation, making him unavailable to represent the Corinthos Organization, Carly had to step up line a boss. She nailed her impression on the Five Families and earned her place at the table. Carly’s newfound membership as Mob Boss has pushed Renault out, making him more motivated for revenge than ever.
General Hospital rumors claim Cyrus will go after Sonny and Carly’s son, Michael (Chad Duell), making him and his family, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), and Wiley, a target. GH rumors further claim that Willow might be the one to pay the price when Cyrus strikes.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is a fugitive, trying to protect himself from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), while protecting Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
General Hospital spoilers reveal Jason and Britt hit the road and it won’t be a smooth ride. They set off on their journey as they run from the PCPD. People are coming at Jason from every angle since Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is on the hunt to bring him in, and Cyrus is out for blood.
General Hospital previews show Jason is at his limit. He has pushed his health to the brink, exhausted all of his resources, and it seems like he might hit a dead end. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) has done all he can when it comes to the hacking though the GH security cam, Brick (Stephen A. Smith) is ready and willing, no questions asked to help Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) organization. Britt has been by his side, and even his ex, Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco), is stepping up to keep Jason from being turned over to the PCPD.
General Hospital rumors suggest things are about to reach a boiling point, and the drama will hit it’s peak while the PCPD and Renault hone in on Jason and Britt. Jason is going to need all the help he can get from those he trusts.
General Hospital fans are in an uproar over the current storyline involving GH’sleading man, Maurice Benard, as the legendary Mob Boss, Sonny Corinthos.
Many fans have expressed their dislike for the situation Nina Reeves is creating for Sonny and the rest of the Corinthos family.
General Hospital news reports confirm that Cynthia Watros has had a chance to defend her character’s actions, and explain why Nina would keep Sonny from his family.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cynthia’s explanation in an interview with Soaps In Depth. As he explains that Nina was confused and basically couldn’t believe her eyes when she arrived in Nixon Falls and saw this man looking strikingly like the man Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), along with many back in Port Charles, are mourning.
Watros explains, “She thought she was kind of losing her mind or something,” She continued by revealing, “She was thinking ‘Maybe he’s not sonny, he’s just a guy who completely looks like Sonny and talks like Sonny.’ That went away quickly, and then she was concerned for his mental health.” Cynthia went on to say, “Like, if I just blurt out to him, ‘You’re this guy, you’re the head of this mob and you have a wife and kids,’ is that too much information? Would that be a harm to him?” she continued. “So she was grappling with that and she did try to call Carly, and Carly was mean to her; rightfully so, because they’re in a bit of a rough patch right now. I think it kind of broke open Nina’s vulnerability and hurt.”
It’s safe to say that regardless of why Nina is doing the despicable thing she is doing, GH fans believe it’s high time Sonny gets home to PC and his family.
