General Hospital News: Nicholas Alexander Chavez Appears On “The Talk,” Wins ‘Favorite Newcomer’ Award

It’s not easy to step into a role after another actor has made it their own. Sometimes there are very big shoes to fill, full of personality and charisma. Luckily for Nicholas Alexander Chavez, he was up for the challenge.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez took over the role of Spencer Cassadine, when the storyline called for a much older Spencer. General Hospital news reports had confirmed that Nicolas Bechtel was exiting the daytime drama, handing the role over to Chavez.

Recently, Nicholas Alexander Chavez was a guest on the daytime talk show, The Talk, where it was revealed he had won an award by SoapHub, for his work on GH as Spencer Cassadine. Chavez received the ‘Favorite Newcomer Award’ for his performance. Chavez joined the cast of GH this past Summer, joining the teen scene in Port Charles.

We are absolutely loving Chavez’s portrayal of Spencer Cassadine. He plays the role just as intended while creating his own take on a grown-up, mischievous heir. The bar was set high when taking over for Bechtel as Chavez rose to the challenge. We ❤️ watching his portrayal of Spencer!

General Hospital Spoilers: Nicholas Alexander Chavez Dishes On Spencer’s Future With Trina, And More GH Details

The role of Spencer Cassadine had big shoes to fill after Nicolas Bechtel no longer fit the role as the character had been SORASed, requiring a recast.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez has taken over as the recast for Spencer Cassadine, son of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis).

In a recent interview with Soap Opera News, Chavez let fans in a little on his personal life and his thoughts about working on ABC’s, General Hospital. General Hospital spoilers reveal that when asked about a future for Spencer and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), Nicholas replied, “Sprina is only a matter of time I hope!” He added, “Trina is such a special character. She and Spencer share a very specific kind of love that only she can give and receive. It’s a love that takes the form of honesty, compassion, and sincerity. She listens enthusiastically, and he tries to do the same. She’s the only person in Port Charles that can do that for Spencer.”

Nicholas Alexander Chavez described what it was like to audition for the role of Spencer Cassadine. He began staying, “When I got to the studio on the day of my audition there were between 10 and 15 other guys that they had brought in to screen test.” Among all of those, Chavez landed the role. He added, “I had to remind myself that all I can do, ever in life, is do my job to the absolute best of my ability, because it’s the only thing you can control. After my audition with Maura West, which was exhilarating, to say the least, I called my manager and my family on my walk back to my hotel. They asked how I thought it went and I remember truthfully replying, “I don’t know. It went so fast. But, I think good?”

Chavez has done a great job thus far, filling the shoes of Bechtel as Spencer. He’s playing right into the role of the mischievous and misguided son of the Dark Prince Nikolas Cassadine.

General Hospital spoilers reveal Spencer is taking the news about Nikolas’s involvement in Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) shooting. After all, Hayden was his stepmom at one point. Knowing that Nikolas coins do such a thing requires some sorting out.

Cameron Webber (William Lipton), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) came up with a plan to trap Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), into ultimately coming clean about being Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) stalker.

The teen’s plan to get Spencer to tell the truth was successful, but now they question if they have done more harm than good when it comes to making things worse between Spencer and his dad, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

General Hospital spoilers reveal now that Ava has had Spencer arrested for stalking, among all of the other crimes he committed against her, his only way out would be with the help of his friends.
