Steve Burton Signs Contract

It has been conformed that Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) has re-signed a contract with his current position as Dylan on The Young and the Restless. For General Hospital fans, this means one of two things… 1) Jason Morgan is not really alive, or 2) He is alive as said by Victor Cassadine but will be recast.

Tristan Rogers OUT at GH

This news is such a shock that Head Writer! Ron Carlivati didn’t even know until recently. Rogers is leaving GH and with such little notice, Carlivati stated that he only has one day to write off his character for February sweeps. He also tweeted we will be seeing a lot of Robert from now until February. Rumors indicated Rogers has decided to head to Genoa City to reprise his role in The Young and the Restless. That has not yet been confirmed.

Michael Fairman Interviews Steve Burton

This Michael Fairman interview with Steve Burton is absolutely amazing. All the questions the fans have been asking since Steve left General Hospital have finally been answered. Many fans are disgruntled, confused, and even angry at what they THINK the facts are related to the entire situation. From Steve leaving GH to move to Tennessee, to then returning to soaps by joining The Young and The Restless, to the way Jason was written off; fans thought the worst of Steve and/or ABC. I sure hope ALL General Hospital and Steve Burton fans read this interview.
The rumors about Steve plotting to go to Y&R all along, or the executives at GH not offering Burton a compromise are untrue. Steve Burton also explains that Jason’s send off was due to lack of time. Time was running out and the writing team had to come up with something. It would be really great to stop reading such negativity from fans who think Steve was untruthful or that ABC just didn’t care enough to keep him. That is entirely not the case. In the interview, Michael asks Steve about the day he left. Steve explains how difficult it was emotionally and mentions that it was very hard on Maurice Benard (Sonny). This actually brought tears to my eyes. He also mentioned that it was very difficult leaving Kelly Monaco Sam), and that it is still weird not being able to see her everyday.
Michael Fairman also asked Steve if there were plans for Jason’s return to GH for the anniversary show. Steve Burton expressed that he would love to come back for the 50th, but since he is now on CBS he is not sure if that will be allowed. All this being out it the open, I hope fans and Steve Burton have closure now in regards to what really happened during and after the time of his exit. After all thins said and done, Steve did what was best for his family and his life.

Genie Francis OUT at The Young and The Restless!

New is out the Genie Francis is leaving Y&R. A Soaps in Depth article states that she has been let go from her role at the CBS Soap The Young and The Restless. What could this mean for Genie and General Hospital? GH fans hope for a Laura Spencer return to Port Charles! GH is doing amazingly well right now with the writing, the current cast, and the return of many important vets. It would be really great to be able to welcome Genie Francis back into her role as Laura Spencer. Having Laura back would be another asset to the success of GH attributed to the return of our classic characters and foundation of the show.
