Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) is a name in Daytime TV that’s impossible to forget. And when we think of Brenda, we think of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Sonny has been a key player in Port Charles for about three decades and is still today one of the main reasons GH fans tune in.
General Hospital Blog has previously reported that Maurice Benard spoke out regarding his friend and co-star, and mentioned that bringing Vanessa back was Brenda is a “no brainer.”

General Hospital news reveals in a recent tweet reply to a Genera Hospital fan, Marcil seems to have put that person in their place. The fan tweets, “I love Maurice… never was a fan of Brenda. I was glad to see her go.” Then Vanessa Marcil herself replied to the tweet by commenting, “I’ve got some bad news for ya ?.” General Hospital rumors may become reality, as this comment from Marcil seems to indicate a definite return to GH for the actress.
Last week, 1990s General Hospital fans were in their glory when a twitter conversation between GH’s ex-Brenda, Vanessa Marcil and Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake).
Many times, General Hospital spoilers, casting news, etc. are revealed through social media. Vanessa sent out an instagram photo which was also shared on twitter of herself in a mirror. GH co-star, McCullough tweeted, stating that Vanessa was in a GH dressing room. GH co-star Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake) had something to say about Vanessa’s tweet. The two GH beauties exchanged tweets regarding the nature of Vanessa’s exciting news. Vanessa tweeted a photo of herself in a mirror, and Kimberly McCullough replied with saying that she could tell Vanessa was in a General Hospital dressing room.
It’s safe to say that this General Hospital spoiler is true. Vanessa Marcil will be reprising her role as Brenda Barrett on General Hospital. Vanessa Marcil is one of my favorite actresses of all time. I have even acquired some of her character Brenda Barrett’s mannerisms and habits, like her spontaneous burst of laughter, and her long sleeves in the cold months… and even the infliction in her voice when she is speaking about something she is passionate about. This is Brenda I am talking about, not Vanessa. I don’t know her personally unfortunately, but I do follow her on Twitter and have the privilege of her following me back! In the last week Vanessa has hinted via Twitter that she will be returning to TV and that she is starting to shoot this week, yet she has not revealed what her new project is. As a GH fan, I sure hope it has something to do with the show, but as a Vanessa fan, I am happy for her in whatever she has going on in the working world.
