If you think Victor is a dangerous piece of work, then you need a quick course in his predecessor, Helena Cassadine. According to General Hospital news reports, the role was originated by Elizabeth Taylor in 1981. The icon played Helena that year, but the role was recast in 1996 with actress Dimitri Arliss. Her stint as Helena was brief and Towers took over as head of the Cassadine sovereignty in 1997. From then on, Constance Towers became the recognizable face as the legendary Grandmother Cassadine.
According to the latest General Hospital spoilers, Helena Cassadine returns to General Hospital for the 60th anniversary celebration. General Hospital comings and goings confirm the actress has filmed two episodes which will air around May 8th. Towers shared the news via Facebook.
